I've been meaning to write this review and it slipped my mind until my wife asked if we were going to come back this summer. Our family of 3 plus our dog had a wonderful stay here in early/mid June. Alexandra was a fantastic host making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The rental was very well kept and had everything we needed. Being right on the river and the bike trail was amazing. We rode bikes into Carbondale for breakfast, fished from the banks of the river, and had dinner/wine by the water in the evenings. Did I say it was amazing?! Our 7 year old son caught his very first fish(beautiful brown trout) on this property. He also really enjoyed paddling around in the canoe in the ponds. In the area we found good dining and plenty to do. We hiked, went off-roading, biked, and did some sight seeing all w/in an hour or so of the rental. We loved relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of getting out and about. This was truly a great escape from Denver that we would happily do again!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing.

Alexandra and Stefan were excellent hosts. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and given a tour of the place, it immediately made us feel at home. The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful winter scenery that surrounds the house, especially while sitting in the jacuzzi. We would highly recommend this place as a romantic or relaxing getaway. We hope to come back again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank You!!! We hope you had a safe drive home in the snow.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful property 09/28 - 09/30. We completely enjoyed ourselves, it was so relaxing there. We biked up to Carbondale, rode around town and up the bike trail for a ways, had lunch at Village Smitty, came back to the property and fished the river and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. The property is very close to Marbel and Aspen, and the fall colors were spectacular. Thank you so much, Alexandra and Stephan, for a wonderful experience. We will be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Next time we would love a picture of that wonderful trout you caught or is a fish tale!?

On our recent visit to the Carbondale area we had the pleasure of staying with Stephan and Alexandra. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like family. Our suite had every comfort we could ask for and was exceptionally clean. Our black lab played in the ponds with their dog Spanky and we had fun exploring the area and just relaxing by the beautiful Roaring Fork River. This retreat deserves a Five Star Rating!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much - Hope the wedding was a great success!

This was a magical find for my family of 3 and our 2 doggies. The rental was sparkling clean and just as nice as in the photos. Upon arrival, we had all the comforts of home and were made to feel like family. Our 7 year old was in heaven and it was very easy for us to enjoy the week surrounded by water, wildlife and still a 30 min. walk to a great coffee/bagel/burrito cafe right off the bike path. This is a great value for the money - someplace we'll want to return to! Thanks Alexandra and Stefan! The WilsonsOwner response: A big hug to all of you!!

We brought long-time friends and both couples brought dogs (one huge, one tiny) and EVERYONE had a splendid time. The apartment is amazing, with high quality linens and appliances -- seems every detail has been considered. The place was clean and well-maintained and the description and pictures reflect the property well. The setting is perfect for relaxing and cooking together, sitting by the river and fishing, too! We are VERY happy to recommend this VRBO experience. Stefan and Alexandra are excellent hosts and their property shows attention to the many things that travelers need/want. We loved touring nearby Carbondale but time at this home, with the beautiful yard and ponds, river, big trees, etc. was SIMPLY THE BEST. Book this place with confidence - the owners are friendly, thorough and accommodating and you will be delighted by the at-home feel of the property. We will certainly visit again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway.

As a native Coloradoan, I have always known Colorado had it all. After vacationing at this riverside island, I know that as a certainty. Acres of lush greenery, towering trees, the Roaring Fork River, waterfalls and ponds greet the traveler upon arrival. Stefan, along with Spanky & Evie are there to welcome you. The apartment and surrounding grounds are even more magnificent then described. Nothing is lacking in the apartment which has two flat screen tv's, comfy furnishings & bed, a well stocked kitchen and the soothing sounds of the river & waterfalls everywhere you turn. The Vaudeville Review in Glenwood, hot pools at the Avalanche Ranch in Redstone, a jeep tour up through the back country and the Crystal Valley, a delicious meal at the Slow Groovin BBQ in Marble, The Wheeler House in Aspen, lunch/dinner at Russets and breakfast at the Village Smithy Restaurant in Carbondale. Stefan & Alexandra are incredible. Always available to answer questions & hold short conversations. This is an awesome location to take a breath, get away, relax and enjoy loved ones. This pet friendly property (Domino the little "city poodle" thought he had gone to heaven romping in the lush grass) is a perfect getaway. Looking forward to more visits in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Jann, Thank you so much for such glowing words. Maybe you should take up writing reviews!
