Construction completed in May, 2011, the Sassafras is our newest cabin.
Nestled in the woods, it sports a charming, rustic atmosphere that provides a perfect place for a small group of friends to enjoy each
others company. The hot tub on the patio is a great place to relax.
The $250 per night rate includes access to the Meramec river and use of our pavilion at the waters edge.

We LOVED this place and Gerald and Crystal are awesome with the hospitality ! The cabin was amazing , we had no problems here and everyone was very friendly and went over and above , The hot tub was a huge bonus after being on the river all day ! Our kids ( 25, 23, and 10 ) all had a Great time ! We will be back next year !Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: My name is Crystal. I live on a farm with my husband, Gerald and son, Clayton. I am slightly addicted to horses and love working with animals. I have two stock dogs, Ember and Tag, that help me with most everything I do on the farm. We have cattle, goats and a few chickens.
Why the Owner Chose Steelville:
We bought this piece of property with a lovely home on it from the family of a man named Sam Murphy because it joined our farm and we thought it would be a good place to try the vacation rental business. It went so well that we have since built two more cabins on the same property. We love meeting new people and sharing some of the great experiences of country living with others.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
There are several short trails for walking on the property and abundant wildlife in the area. The covered porch, complete with a table and comfortable chairs is a great place to gather and enjoy some fresh air. The fire pit out back (firewood included) is the place to be once the sun goes down. If you are looking for a relaxing retreat in the country, you've found it in the Sassafras cabin.
