We stayed here during an April visit to join camping friends on Cumberland Island for the day. The condo is very easy to find on the main street of town across from a very large school. It is about 6 blocks from the main harbor and ferry. There are many thoughtful extras like movies and a DVD player and even a washer and dryer. Regrettably, we didn't have much time to spend around the condo as we'd like but enjoyed our breakfast there each morning and the huge dressing area off the main bedroom. We would also recommend St. Marys Seafood for dinner about 2 miles back up State Highway 40. We will definitely try to stay here again when we return to the area.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers.

Stayed at the loft when visiting Cumberland Island and exploring the area. The loft is very spacious with unique artsy decor and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Definitely a recommend and a return stay if in the area.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This apartment was perfect for our stay. It had comfortable beds and it was very clean. It had everything one would need like toilet paper, trash bags, and all the comforts of home. It even had a washer and dryer so when my daughter got a grease stain on her pants we could wash immediately. I can't think of anything we needed other than a bar of soap! Great place to stay and relax.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Loft in St. Marys. The rooms were very spacious. We were never under eachother's feet. Barbara was right there with the hangers we requested. The beds were very comfortable - with the exception of the futon. (That is the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5.) The futon was really meant as a twin bed. There was no support for the back side when folded down. Our son tipped to the floor when he turned over. The Loft was within walking distance to the harbor which made it nice. I would recommend the Loft and would stay there again. As our adult kids said, "This place is really cool."Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

We loved this place! The loft is so unique and spacious, and in a great location. We used it as our base for a spectacular day at Cumberland Island. The whirlpool tub was wonderful after a long day of walking and the kids loved the rows of doors and front balcony that looked out over the main street. My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights on our recent trip to visit Cumberland Island. It was very spacious, clean, comfortable, private, and quiet. The owner was very responsive, easy to contact, and made helpful suggestions to area dining, etc. The jacuzzi was a very welcome and relaxing benefit after a long day of exploring Cumberland. It was a wonderful experience and I would absolutely go back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and and I spent the weekend here while attending a wedding in St. Marys. We could not have found a better or a more unique place to stay! We enjoyed our brief time there - the loft was spacious and had plenty of natural lighting, and it had everything we needed. It is conveniently located in the downtown area near restaurants, shops, and the waterfront. We enjoyed walking downtown with our dog, Alex, who loved the coolness of the loft's concrete floors. I am ready to move in. The space is roomy, comfortable and has lots of natural light. It is an easy walk to downtown and the ferry. The showers are large and furnishings just right. My husband I had never visited St. Marys before and, because we LOVE rock shrimp, decided to make the "somewhat" long drive to there from Atlanta to attend the annual Rock Shrimp Festival. Luckily, we found this fabulous loft on VRBO! The outside of this may not look appealing, BUT, wait until you see the inside! It is HUGE and beautifully decorated! It can easily accomodate 4 people and is within walking distance to the downtown area of St. Marys. We would definitely recommend this place to any of our friends who may plan on visiting this area.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Very relaxing loft. Needs to be a bit cleaner. One of the bathrooms had hair along baseboard. Spacious. Pictures do not do justice. Great place to go and relax. Would rent again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway

Where do I begin. The place needs a maid that knows how to do cleaning. It was dirty from the flatware to the showers and everything else you could name. I can tell you the picture of the jacuzzi is all we got. It did not work. After taking the time to clean it then we found out. I think if you advertise a place to rent that everything should be in WORKING ORDER AND CLEAN. There was a sign on the wall saying "Under Construction Drink Alot" That did explain all the paint cans and supplies on both decks. If you're a real animal lover you have it made. There is rugs that smell like animals and there is a cage on the back deck that has all kinds of hair on a blanket. The final thing is the manager I guess lost our telephone number and email address because she was to get back in touch and ??????????????Owner response: I am sorry that you felt that the condo was not clean to your liking and confused as to why you never conveyed that to our staff during your 5 day stay. We have a cleaning crew that cleans the condo after every guest departs and have never had a complaint other than a guest said that it needed sweeping (which we immediately addressed with the cleaning crew). We are getting the rugs cleaned since you stated that you detected a pet odor and the blanket that is in the dog kennel on the back deck will be removed as will the paint supplies located on the back deck under the long bench. The issue you had with no hot water coming to the jacuzzi was looked at by the plumber and it did in fact have hot water coming to it. Not sure why you were not able to get hot water on that evening. We appreciated your feedback - this helps us to improve the next guests stay.

This is a fabulous loft. REALLY roomy and comfortable. Photos don't do it justice. We could live in this rental! Not much to do in this beautiful little town, The restaurants we ate at were all great, though. -- Borrell's, Lang's Seafood, a Greek cafe on the riverfront. Would recommend this rental if you just want to kick back and relax, or venture over to Cumberland Is. The owner was most helpful and accommodating in every way. The loft was a roomy and comfortable place for a very memorable girls weekend. There were 6 women (mostly of menapausal age) that were very comfortable and we never felt like we were on top of one another. The onsight washer/dryer was a huge bonus. Because of the heat we took many showers and never ran out of hot water. If I had a complaint it would be that it could have been a little cleaner, the pots and pans were dusty and the floor needed a good sweeping. Certainly nothing that couldn't be overlooked by the fact that it was perfect in every other way. The loft is very open and spacious with large rooms but the best part was the charming decor. We cooked in, we ate out, we lounged around and we laughed until our bellies ached. Although not far, the loft is a little further from town than I had expected. Walking would have been fine if it had not been so hot. St. Mary's is such a lovely place with the nicest people on the planet. Barbara was terrific and easy to deal with. She responded quickly to all of my inquiries prior to our stay and was most hospitable. I would recommend this property without hesitation.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I really have to say that this was AWESOME experience. Within walking distance to the Cumberland Island ferry! Ms Barbara was the most helpful and made my friends and me feel most welcome. The property is BIGGER than the pictures perceive. You really are getting your money's worth (washer/dryer, jacuzzi, kitchen utensils, etc it keeps going on). There is no oven for all those wondering, however there is a table electric oven.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My friends and I recently stayed here over the weekend on our trip to Cumberland Island and really enjoyed it! Every room was super clean, and the beds were pretty comfy. The nice "jean" design sofas were really comfy and easy to sleep on as well. It was also really cool how the bedrooms and bathrooms were all connected and everything was so open so we were able to hang out in 1 area. Overall a 5 out of 5! We'll gladly use this loft again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We celebrated our 21 wedding anniversary at the loft. Barbara was wonderful to answer any questions we had. No matter where we went everyone was so friendly. We will be back with family in July for the 4th. Bring a golf cart to scoot around to see this beautiful town. The loft was an experience in its self. Big, open, unique! Furnishings were quaint and interesting, comfortable and clean. Close enough to walk to the waterfront, and no crowds. We enjoyed our ladies weekend out. St Marys is a beatiful, quite southern town.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing.

Fabulous loft! My husband and I spent our 22nd wedding anniversary here. We enjoyed everything about the place. Walked downtown and sat by the river, had several meals at the downtown restaurants, and just enjoyed the tranquility of the town. Very unique loft, lots of room and very quiet. The entire front opens up with 4 sets of french doors over looking the main street with a balcony. We really enjoyed our week here, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. There is no oven but a large toaster oven that was plenty big enough to cook the fresh snapper we bought. Almost forgot it's pet friendly and our lab really loved it! A totally great experience in beautiful St. Marys.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
