Welcome to Camp Terrapin. Built in 2004, our Victorian-style Beach Cottage has all the charm of a by-gone era. From the wrap-around porch (screened on the side) to the rear sundeck, you'll find a wonderful space to kick back and relax. Professionally decorated and furnished with your comfort and enjoyment in mind.
The furnishings are white-washed wicker and wood with a charming beach-themed motif in a blue, white and yellow color scheme. Comfortably sleeps 16 in bedrooms (no sleeper sofas) with two King master suites (one on the main level), one Queen with additional twin ensuite, one Full, and a bunk room (sleeps seven). All beds are covered with patchwork quilts.
Four bathrooms plus an outside shower mean no one has to wait in line. And two on-demand water heaters mean no one takes a cold shower. Two-zoned heating and air conditioning plus ceiling fans for perfect temperature control. The dining table seats 12, with room for two at the breakfast bar. The spacious Great Room boasts a large dining area and two seating areas, all open to the fully-equipped kitchen.
Located in the quiet community of Turtle Walk, this home is ten blocks from the Beach (off RT 26, Garfield Pkwy next to Bethany West)and rents with 2 beach parking passes (free street parking for beach access - no need to use metered parking). In July and August, there is a trolley to shuttle vacationers to the Beach at a cost of 25 cents. The trolley runs twice/hour from 9:30 AM to 10 PM.
There's plenty of off-street parking for six cars at Camp Terrapin. You'll want to return to this sun-filled Bethany Beach Victorian retreat year after year. Brand New in 2004! No Smoking, No Pets, Please! Call or email for off-season availability and holidays.
Property rents Saturday to Saturday. Please check the Availability Calendar before contacting me with a request. The calendar is updated with each booking. Ther are prime summer weeks remaining, but you'd better hurry! We do not rent to "Beach Week" groups. The responsible adult who signs the lease (over the age of 25) must be in residence for the entire vacation. September weekends are glorious!! Off season rates make this large home perfect for a retreat, scrapbooking clubs, family reunions, golf outings,and more.

Cindy and Bob Moses live in Potomac, MD and grew up in the DC area. Cindy is a Real Estate Broker for Keller Williams Metro Realty and Bob is an attorney who specializes in Real Estate and Business Law. Between us, we have 5 siblings, 10 nieces and nephews, and 5 cats. We both grew up spending summer vacations in Bethany Beach (Cindy) and Ocean City, MD (Bob), so Bethany Beach is truly our second home.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Turtle Walk
My family has vacationed in Bethany Beach every summer for over 40 years. As the family grew, it became increasingly more difficult to rent a house to accommodate everyone at an affordable price. We decided to build one and discovered that many groups of friends and families had similar needs - where everyone could stay under one roof, instead of renting multiple small houses. So many of my friends tell the that their kids don't want to vacation with them anymore! I feel lucky that my entire family looks forward to our Bethany Beach vacation every summer.
The Unique Benefits of this House
There is lots of space for everyone, with generous bedroom sizes and lots of bathrooms. We even installed on-demand water heaters so no one would ever have to take a cold shower. The wrap-around porch is especially popular with my family as there always seems to be a lovely breeze blowing across it. The kitchen is large enough to accommodate several cooks at once. The kids love the bunk room that sleeps 7 and has its own bath. We have off-street parking for 8 cars and the rental includes 2 beach parking passes. I love the quiet neighborhood, yet so close to the beach.

This beach house is in good condition and well maintained. Although the house is a bit distance away from beach, our family had a fun time riding trolley to the beach (approximately 15 minutes ride). We had a great time and enjoyed the stay. Also, personally, I appreciate the fast email correspondences and great services, Thank you!. This is our first time staying in Bethany beach and we will definitely return.
Recommended for:Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

This property was clean and comfortable and not too far from the beach. We took the trolley to the beach with the kids, which they loved. We did have to wait a little for the trolley as the time of its arrival is a 15 minute window, but there was a shady tree to keep us cool. We could also bike to the beach on back roads. The boardwalk itself is small, only 2 blocks x 2 blocks of shops and restaurants, but quaint. There are restrooms at the beach there, as well as chair and umbrella rentals. We found out that bethany west, a nearby community, has soccer and tennis classes in the morning for $5 for 5-8 year olds, and the kids enjoyed this. You can also get a day pass there to use the pool and tennis courts, which we did not do because we went to the beach almost everyday. One day, we drove down to Ocean City also. On Sunday we watched the world cup final, but the TV was not the very best picture for this. we did not watch a lot of TV and this was not a priority, so we did not care much. we were able to get wireless internet access with no problems. the outside shower had nice hot water and good pressure. we really enjoyed ourselves our beach getaway.

We've been coming to Bethany Beach for a couple of years now, and this house is by far the best one we've ever occupied. It really couldn't have been any better.

This was the perfect place to celebrate our parent's 50th wedding anniversary. The open floor plan allowed us to mingle. We loved the decor and appreciated the well stocked kitchen. The trolley made life with teenagers easier.

Welcome to Camp Terrapin! Our Beach Cottage was completed in the Spring of 2004. My family has vacationed in Bethany Beach for over 35 years. As our family grew, it became more and more difficult to find an affordable rental with enough beds to accommodate everyone comfortably. And so we decided to build our own retreat, Camp Terrapin.
