  I had a wonderful, blissful time at the Crabby Cottage. It's so adorable. The decor is whimsical, retro and fantastic throughout. It's just a minute away from the beach where we took many inspiring and lovely walks. I didn't have a car and the grocery store was only a ten minute walk away- very convenient. I loved being there in April when the town was sweet and uncrowded. One thing about the vintage appliances - they don't always work. The coffee maker was cracked/leaking. I emailed Laura the owner and she brought a brand new coffee maker out that week. (SO NICE! and responsive!) Suggestion: it would be helpful if the kitchen had more good sharp knives. And extra blankets (got a little chilly at night!) Overall though, the place is so sweet and I'd definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful and productive writers' retreat. (Oh yeah; LOVED the literary touches throughout! They inspired us!)

  I had the most wonderful stay in this adorable cottage last week. Tucked behind a larger house facing the ocean, this little gem has a sweet deck overlooking a grassy patch of yard. It even has a bit of an ocean view itself, from the entryway. Inside it is an absolute treasure of retro charm and functionality. The spacious main room and well-equipped galley kitchen are bright and airy, spotlessly clean, and mind-blowingly charming. Decorated with vintage furniture, accessories, and art, the ambiance is relaxing and uncluttered. The bathroom is roomy, updated, and immaculate. The retro theme continues in the two bedrooms with soothing pastels. I honestly don't remember the last time I slept so soundly, anywhere. My favorite part of the cottage experience (and believe me, it's an EXPERIENCE) is the little pink Smeg - a diminutive reproduction of a vintage refrigerator. I plan to return again and again!

Thank you for choosing our house for your vacation. We hope that you have a pleasant stay. The house is located at 689 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk, New York (between Briney Breezes and Surfside Inn), up the driveway in the back (green cottage). RENTAL RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. This is a NON SMOKING unit. 2. Do not flush anything down the toilets besides toilet paper. No sanitary items or paper towels. (It backs up our septic tank, which causes an unpleasant mess.) 3. DAMAGE DEPOSIT- A damage deposit of $500 is required. This must be received with final payment. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable within (14) days of departure, provided the following provisions are met. a. No damage is done to unit or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear. b. No charges are incurred due to pets during the stay. c. Keys are returned. d. No linens are lost or damaged. 4. Provided is a fully equipped kitchen, household linens, a TV with cable service, wireless Internet and a Blu Ray player. 5. Please do not block the driveway with your cars. Park up by the cottage. 6. Cancellation policy: rent will be refunded 100% provided 60 days’ notice is given. No refunds can be given for “acts of God,” for example hurricanes or other inclement weather.
