  Wow, what a wonderful time we had in Kauai and we throughly enjoyed our stay at Shipwrecks Beach Cottage. This home is beautiful!! The pictures are very accurate and I honestly think it looks better in real life. The deck was wonderful! We enjoyed grilling outside and eating our meals outside as we watched the whales. It was great that the deck was covered as we did have a few passing showers while we were there. There were 6 of us staying there; a family of 4, with 2 children and one set of grandparents. There was more than enough room for us all. The kids also enjoyed the green lawn in the back to run around and play soccer. The proximity of the Hyatt is an added bonus to this property. We enjoyed morning walks to the Hyatt to get coffee at Starbucks. We also enjoyed walks past Shipwreck's Beach along the Cliffs. Poipu Beach is also a short walk through the Poipu Kai property. The kids enjoyed Boogie boarding and swimming at Poipu Beach. It is a great beach for kids. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub that is available, a short walk down the path. We went a few times and we were the only ones there each time. It was great! The home is very well maintained and very clean and the decor is beautiful! I would highly recommend this property to friends and family. This home is in a great location, so many places to explore and we had such a wonderful time. We cannot wait to return to Kauai and Shipwrecks Beach Cottage!!

  Our vacation was a great experience. The combination of ammentities access and independence could hardly be better. We enjoyed whale watching, sea turtles, zip lining, kayaking, hiking and lounge chair surfing - - - a wonderful balance. Our neighbor / The Grand Hyatt has so much to offer and we also enjoyed barbecuing on the deck. We particularly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere the entire island exudes

  Had a great time at the house; very well maintained and will definitely stay there again. Make sure you check out Poipu Beach Park, much more family friendly than Shipwreck Beach.

  This is a beautiful home in a great location. Unbelievably there are both sunrise and sunset views of the beach although you are back from the water. The house is lovely and well stocked. It is a short walk to Shipwreck Beach. Great hiking trail from Shipwreck to the east. Closer to the Hyatt conference rooms then some of the Hyatt guest rooms are.

  This home has lots of room and it is located very close to Shipwreck Beach. The guest bedrooms could use a little upgrading, but the master bedroom is quite lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home.

  We had a lovely week at the cottage. It is beautiful and very comfortable. Only suggestions would be to put more lighting on the porch, it's hard to BBQ in the dark, a better coffee pot wouldn't hurt either but these were the only negatives and we highly recommend it.

  I love the Poipu area and I have been interested in buying a home in this area. Until I do however, I appreciate the opportunity to stay in great rentals like Shipwreck Cottage. This cottage comes fully equipped and even stocked with spices left by other renters. The location is right on the Poipu Kai green-belt and just back of the ocean-front. It has an excellent ocean view. That it is positioned across a hedge from a large hotel employee parking lot was off-putting to me when I first realized this but quite honestly the car noise is no greater than that on a private residential street. In fact, the only time that you hear anything at all is at the 7AM shift start and in my experience, even this was minimal; a few car motors and perhaps a car door.

  Wonderful! Only minor bummer was the proximity of the home to the Hyatt parking lot, but ultimately it was not so bad. The ocean view made up for the lot!

  Our stay at the Shipwreck Beach cottage was albsolutely everything we anticipated and more! As a family of five adults, we were very impressed with the lovely decor, the comfort, layout and all the amenities. The kitchen was great for multiple people cooking and we spent a lot of time on the lanai, enjoying the ocean view and yet, the location was central to much of what we enjoyed! It was great to have laundry facilities onsite and the home and grounds were extremely clean and well maintained. We'd all rent it again!
