                    This Chalet home is one I would quickly recommend to my family and friends. It is neat and clean, relaxing and funtional; the kitchen is one that is easy to use and enjoy. I love horse back riding and a horse owner could easily bring their horse and port a stall. The circular drive way has a nice flat area in the center for the stall, that also accomodates the parking and departing of the horse trailer. It is very quiet and seems to be a great place to ride. The decks are my favorite, I love standing on the Master bed room deck looking throught the trees at the water. A perfect place for my moring coffee. I also enjoyed the near by town with all the lovely old Victorian homes and that wonderful historic feeling. This place is JUST FUN!

                    Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

                    This is a lovely spot - I know since I've been there by kayak. We launched at the Reedville ramp & headed (inland - in a Westerly direction to within sight of the Rt 200 bridge. About 1/2 mi. before that bridge we steered left into a narrow fjord that had houses on a high bluff overlooking the river visible as we paddled in - unusual for rivers on Chesapeake Bay. We were looking for that perfect "Hurricane Hole" protection for our 26 foot sloop when the next "Big One" blows in. We left our sailboat on her mooring not too far away. About ~1/2 mi.into Holly Creek, we recognized the same dock as in the picture . We docked & took a hike up the wooded lane to stretch our legs - we took a right on lane at top of hill & went right for ~150 yards & saw the Chalet - What a sweet looking place ! Reedville simply seemed to have disappeared as we paddled west - but we were only about 1 mile away from town !

                    Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

                  About the owner: I have chosen to live by Chesapeake Bay - I much prefer to spend my spare time near the water - it is so relaxing. Reedville is at mid point of Chesapeake Bay. This vicinity offers a pleasant retreat from touring. You can relax like the local folks - trying a choice of excursion by boating, or flying in a classic airplane with a private pilot (check Hummel Airport nearby) either way a scenic adventure awaits your arrival. BTW: If you get tired of catch & release fishing yet feel hungry - just drop-in to any of the area seafood restaurants & order your favorite platter. Or consider the Take-out' menu from a local Deli or that seafood place for your favorite dish .... Then 'Head Back to the Ranch ' & relax.on the deck.

Holly Cove is a short ride to several Marinas which offer a variety of charter fishing lease captains and also boat ramp availability if brought your own boat. Please Note - You will probably see Ospreys and even Pelicans (seasonal)- if you enjoy enjoy boating the local waterways- Love of outdoors. I have a contemporary relative ('Cap't' John Smith) who was a Wine Steward at a local restaurant - He always kept a few samples of fine wine available on his shelf. I have always enjoyed that 'Southern' hospitality. We are certain you will also enjoy the ambience ! Cruises to Tangier Island available only a few miles away, departing & returning daily from local marinas. Just across the river visit the historical fishing Port of Reedville offering waterfront dinning by land or sea. Visit the famous Fisherman's Museum. or the nearby town of Kilmarnock for shopping and variety of fine dining..
