  Six of us spent a week in April at this charming beach house. The pictures and descriptions on the listing are totally accurate, but you still must see it in person to fully appreciate the cozy feeling of home and the close proximity to the clean, quiet beach. Beth was a joy to work with--responding to emails promptly, answering my many questions thoroughly, taking additional photos that I asked for, and returning phone calls within a reasonable time. The only issue that arose during our stay was a toilet that malfunctioned (tank wouldn't refill) and Beth had a plumber out to the house within a few hours. The house is well-maintained and nicely decorated with comfortable, stylish furnishings and the enormous deck runs the full width of the house! There are plenty of chairs, loungers, side tables and a patio table for 6 with an optional umbrella. The main living area features a large, 3-panel sliding screened door so you can always enjoy the fresh air and pretty view. We used both the gas grill and charcoal grill and ate out on the deck when it was warm enough. They also have cool, like-new beach chairs with all the nifty features like cup holders, pockets for your phone, etc. and a nice beach umbrella. The seating area at the end of the walkway to the beach was our main hangout. With a bench and several chairs, there was plenty of room for the 6 of us to sit overlooking the water, sipping coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. (Heaven!) Although Ponte Vedra is a smallish, quiet town, there are several restaurants and a Publix close by. For a nice dinner out, try Cap's On The Water. It's less than 5 minutes away and has a large outdoor dining deck overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, as well as a varied menu, good food and friendly service. This April, the weather fluctuated daily, and it was often breezy, but we had sun almost every day and the temperatures were mostly in the 70's (though it usually got too cold at night to sit outside after the sun went down.) It is no exaggeration to say that the beach is private. Other than a few locals occasionally walking the beach, we had it mostly to ourselves. Overall, my friends and I had a wonderful experience and never wanted to leave. We would all highly recommend this lovely beach house for anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing getaway with gorgeous views of the ocean and all the comforts of home. Thank you to Beth and Don for helping make our vacation so completely enjoyable!

  My husband and I decided to travel south for a last minute vacation and some warmth! Found this home and after reading all the reviews and after looking at the photos, it was really a done deal! What an amazing home, the pictures truly don't do it justice. The amenities were generous and we wanted for nothing.The kitchen had everything we needed and all we did was supply the food and drinks! It was perfect! They views were spectacular, every morning, and due to the unusually warm weather, the walks on the beach, less than a minute from the deck by the way, were even better! The home has a grill on the deck, which we took advantage of each night. We ate lunch out each day and spent a couple of days in St. Augustine, shopping and sightseeing, but honestly, I could not wait to get back to the house and sit on the deck with a good book! Beth and Don were amazing hosts, with perfect communication throughout the whole process. We will definitely be booking this home in the future!! Thank you!

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is just as pictured and was immaculate - even the garage was spotless. Master bedroom is located on one side of the living room and three additional bedrooms on the other side, affording privacy for all. Bedding is comfortable - the mattresses seemed new. Living room furniture is also comfortable - so easy to just "sink into" and relax, enjoying either the view or the TV. I think my favorite spot was the seating area at the end of the "walkway" to the beach. We had cocktails and there every night, watching the sunset and listening to the ocean. I found the kitchen to be more than adequate and well-equipped, and I am admittedly hard to please in that area. Several sets of dinnerware - one nicer for dining inside and the other melamine for children or meals on the deck. Several sets of wine glasses, too - so if that second bottle is different from the first, there is no need to wash your glass - just get another one (I did just admit that I was "fussy"). A good selection of pots, pans, baking dishes, mixing bowls, serving bowls and utensils of all kinds. I even found a vase for my fresh flowers. (that's a first for me in a beach house). Beth was a pleasure to deal with - so accommodating and prompt with responses. I highly recommend this property.

  ... We wanted a perfect oceanside spot for a combined Birthday celebration .. father & daughter who were 20 years apart! As our time away was short(4 days) it needed to be close to perfect in every way. There were 5 of us, my husband, and myself and our daughter and our grand daughter and her girlfriend( both 17). The home was immaculate and very well equiped, as we wanted for nothing while there! We loved the decor, layout and the amenities. Drinks and coffee on the deck were especially wonderful, as was a family bar-b-que! St. Augustine and Fernandina Beach were close by for outings! Our weather cooperated and a most wonderful time was had by all... thanks Beth & Don for the use of your lovely beach home. We hope to return next year for a longer stay.   My family and I wanted to surprise my husband for his birthday. And we sure did. What a delightful vacation we had. The house was exactly as described and pictured on the web page. Beth was very gracious and made sure everything was perfect.... The house is IMMACULATE. There is plenty of "everything" to meet your needs to ensure you have a fabulous time. My sisters comment when she came to visit (she lives in Tampa) "gosh, everything you need is here". We particularly enjoyed the large back deck, being able to grill out. We even cooked a Low Country Boil for the gang one night. Drinking coffee on the deck each morning was awesome. Even found a kite to fly in the garage.. I cannot say enough to express how wonderful our vacation was in Ponde Vedra and we did not have to worry about a thing. The new Publix and the Pizza restaurant next door were great too. Thanks Beth. Hope to see you next year.

  We took our daughter and three grandchildren on a family vacation to Peace and Good Tidings. We had a wonderful time. But the joy was in watching our grandchildren enjoy themselves. They were so proud of their shell collection. They enjoyed having access to the computer and playing games provided by the owners. We enjoyed our walks on the beach, spending time together and discovering new things. We were all so comfortable in this beach home. And credit has to be given to Don and Beth who made the whole experience memorable. They have paid attention to every detail such as a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bedding, generous towels and beach towels and a generous supply of paper products, laundry soap, and miscellaneous everyday items necessary to enjoy the beach experience. We especially enjoyed grilling on the deck. There was ample charcoal and even lighter fluid. The garage was a bonus. It was nice to drive in and have direct access to the house. The washer and dryer were very handy and made laundry manageable. Just imagine all the things that make a home a home. That is what Don and Beth have accomplished with this unique beach home. Also, we would like to thank Beth for her detailed instructions and friendliness. She made the entire planning stress free.

  This is the second year we have enjoyed the lovely amenities of Peace and Good Tidings. After a lifetime of beach vacation rentals, I can honestly say this is our favorite. It is clean, well-maintained and beautifully equipped. We were so happy packing to go because we knew we didn't have to bring half the kitchen to be comfortable. Everything you need is thoughtfully provided, so pack your bathing suit, sunscreen and beach chair, and you will find everything else waiting. (Yes, a good beach read and some fun board games!) The best part is the fabulous deck with stairs straight down to the sand & surf. It is AMAZING! We can't wait to go back!

  I just booked our stay for the last week in August. Our last time staying at your beautiful house was this past April and the first time was in August of 2011. Obviously we love this property. We have stayed at several other vacation rentals in Ponte Vedra Beach over the last four years, but last August when we stayed at this house we found our favorite. The decor, comfort, and attention to detail that it offers makes it feel like a second home...your own vacation home and not just a weekly rental. The rooms are all well appointed and comfortable. Having two bedrooms with access to the deck and ocean views make it great for two couples and the third bedroom is great for kids or extra guests. The deck has really nice furniture for relaxing and even napping. Beth and Don are a pleasure to deal with and so helpful and accommodating. The house is always clean and fresh each time we arrive. We can't wait to get back there!

  My husband and I spent our first Florida “snowbird” winter this past January through March in this relaxing home. What a wonderful way to wake up in the morning being able to hear the waves and watch the sunrise. The home is decorated beautifully and the homeowners added all those extra touches making us feel right at home. Walks on the beach and the moonlight from the deck were just a couple of the enjoyments from this location. There are excellent restaurants within minutes of the house that we often frequented, and we enjoyed taking our guests into St. Augustine for shopping and historical day trips. We can’t say enough about this residence and would love to return again.

  My friends and I stayed here for a week for our girl’s vacation. The house was just as described and the pictures shown on this website are exactly how the home looks. In fact, the pictures do not do it justice. It is a beautiful home and very well decorated. The house was immaculate when we arrived and furnished with everything we needed…all we had to buy was our food. The view from the large deck was amazing, especially the sunrises. We loved being able to walk down the steps and be right on the beach. And speaking of the beach, there was no one around…just a few people from the other homes, so it felt like we had the beach all to ourselves. Don and Beth have paid attention to every detail and it shows in the way they take care of their home and their guests. The beds were all very comfortable along with the rest of the furniture. The house felt more like a home and not just a beach rental. Don and Beth, thank you so much for all you did to make our vacation so special. We all hope to come back again and enjoy your “Peaceful Retreat”.

  My family wanted to have a "beach vacation" this year and this home was the perfect location. All I can say is with this home the beach IS YOUR BACKYARD! No driving, walking across streets, etc. to the beach. It is right behind your home. Absolutely worth it. We felt like it was a private beach most of the time as it is located in the middle of miles and miles of private homes. No condos around. Just a quiet beach full of beautiful seashells and an occasional shark's tooth. We even spotted dolphins swimming by as our children played in the waves. The owners were very accomodating and even made a charitable contribution in our name.....pretty impressive. Thanks again Don and Beth.

  This three bedroom, two bath home has it all - from sunrises on the deck to tasteful and comfortable furnishings. The kitchen was well equipped and there were enough plates, cups and silverware to host an impromtu barbeque on the deck for eight. The private access to the Atlantic Ocean is made for long strolls on the beach or for taking a quick dip!. Excellent restaurants are close by and St. Augustine is a short drive south. The only downside to our stay is that it was not long enough!

  My girlfriends and I stayed at this house last month and could not have chosen a better place to stay. The house is beautifully decorated and extremely well-kept. There were a lot of little touches to make the guests feel at home- plenty of extra blankets, pillows, and other comforts. The house itself is wonderful and then when you walk a few more steps onto the deck it is like walking into paradise. Overall it is a great place with beautiful surroundings! I would highly recommend it.
