This is absolutely the best place to stay if you want to be right on the beach! Our condo was very clean and comfortable with an amazing view of the ocean & lovely white sand beach. Very convenient for sightseeing and shopping and the owner was readily available if we had any questions. The drive to Fort Pickens is very scenic and you can find tons of great shopping and restaurants in Destin, just a short drive away. If you like pizza delivered, try Merlin's. Awesome cheeseburger pizza! We walked down the beach to the pier and boardwalk where there are nice shops and restaurants. We could walk out of our door and down the stairs and we were on the beach - it was never crowded and we appreciated the daily beach service. This was a wonderful vacation and we hope to stay here again!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful time and we were able to relax even though I was working in the local area. The accommodations were great and the location was good. This is a well-kept, clean condo is in a small, older building. It was nice not having to deal with crowds, especially on the beach, which is just a few steps away. We appreciated the free beach service. The condo fit our family of five very comfortably. The pictures are accurate in a physical sense; they just do not depict how comfortable the couches and beds are or how refreshing the whirlpool tub is. After having fun boogie boarding in the clear water and walking on the soft sand, we enjoyed relaxed evenings of home cooked meals, watching shows on the HD TV, and surfing the internet. Our vacation went too quickly. Bob, the owner, was available to quickly answer all questions and was flexible and accommodating with my requests. I would definitely work with him in the future and will absolutely recommend him to anyone planning to travel to the Emerald Coast.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

My family had a wonderful week long vacation on Okaloosa Island. Condo was very clean, nicely decorated, and organized. We were comfortable and had everything we needed. Flat panel TVs were nice and we enjoyed the free beach service. View from the balcony was absolutely beautiful. Stairs and elevator were just outside the door for a very short walk to the beach. Complex was small and quiet. Beach was family oriented and not crowded at all. Short drive to shops and restaurants. We highly recommend this condo. Bob was great to work with and was very accommodating. He even checked on us after we arrived to be sure everything was OK. We appreciate his family sharing their vacation home with us and we look forward to a future visit.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We enjoyed our Family vacation & our trip to Ft Walton Beach. We really enjoyed the condo & sitting on the balcony where we had morning coffee while watching the waves come in or walking on the beach in the morning & at night. my husband & sons enjoyed playing golf nearby & fishing off the pier & we enjoyed sitting on the beach in the chairs under the umbrella provided by the owner & watching friends & family especially our Grandkids play in the ocean. The condo was very well equipped with everything we needed & Bob the owner was very helpful.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

If you want a great family experience this is the way to go! The condo was beautifully decorated and clean and the the kitchen was so well stocked right down to the electric griddle for pancakes.! Bob was great in answering all our questions. Besides using the beach and pool at the condo,the boys spent one afternoon at the water park and rented jet skis another.We spent a day under the Destin bridge where my grandaughter learned to snorkel and catch hermit crabs with her net, The water is so clear,its like being in a pool ( This spot is a must but go early it gets busy on the weekends) We drove up the road a ways to Shalimar and had pizza at Scully's on the Bayou one night. It made for some beautiful sunset pictures off the deck.I know my grandaughter left with some great family memories and we hope to come back again soon!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We have a family of 5 and this condo fit perfectly for us. Well stocked kitchen. Clean and comfortable. It was awesome every morning to open the sliding glass doors in the bedroom to the green waters and sugar beach. The balcony has an unobstructed view and we saw dolphins every day. The chairs and umbrella are a wonderful addition to our experience. We searched dozens of condos online, and are extremely satisfied that we chose this one.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

My wife and I asked for a quiet beach get-a-way to relax and we found our spot. Bob was a great help and called us as we were traveling to check on our safe arrival. We found everything we needed at the condo and felt right at home. Right on the beach & beautiful views. Area of the Palms was much quieter that Destin. Even the guys that set up the beach chairs were a great help in choosing good restaurant's. You won't go wrong staying here.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

Four of us stayed here in June 2011 and had a wonderful time! The location is great and the small complex fitted our needs nicely. Beach is not crowded and the view from the unit is direct oceanfront. Nice balcony with chairs and table to relax at in the evening. The kitchen was fully equipped and a new flat screen TV had been recently installed. The master bath was huge with a whirlpool tub. Master bedroom had king bed and 2nd bedroom had twin beds. There was a bathroom with shower in the 2nd bedroom with hall access as well. The unit was furnished tastefully and very clean! The complex is close to attractions and shopping and there was ample parking. We are beach lovers so the somewhat small pool was not an issue for us. Complimentary beach chairs and an umbrella well made up for the pool. The photos accurately reflect the unit and I recommend The Palms to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation! The owner lives locally and personally met us with the key. It was a pleasure talking to him about the area. I'm certain we will visit again!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: I have worked and lived in the Fort Walton Beach area for over 24 years and love it! The area with its multitude of water related activities involving the Gulf of Mexico, Choctawhatchee Bay and the various bayous, there is always something to do. I've done quite a bit of boating, tubing, water skiing, shallow and deep sea fishing, mono haul and catamaran sailing, spending time at Crab Island, and SCUBA diving and am nowhere tired of any of them. I've also played several of the area's golf courses. This area used to be called the 'Playground Area' and I think that name was very fitting.
Why the Owner Chose The Palms:
I live close by but not on the beach and while you're not enjoying it, I can bring my family out to use it for a couple of nights!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Waking up, getting out of bed and being able to see the white sandy beach in less steps than it takes to get to the automatic coffeemaker that was set to brew last night. Then going to get a cup and be back sitting on the balcony thinking about the day's activities while being in a non-hurried state of mind!
