This home is in an excellent location if you are in town for a convention or conference at the Convention Center. Easy to get there by Metro transit system or car....and across the street from Galludett University. The property was clean and nicely furnished, and with nine adults, we were very comfortable! Mr. Tunde, the owner, is VERY accomdating and kind. I'm from NJ and am not accustomed to the row houses that you see throughout DC- I say this so that you'll know not to judge a book by its cover. The street/block may look a little intimidating, but it was very quiet and we felt safe with early mornings out and late nite returns to the home. My party would definitely stay here again without a moment's hesitation.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Valerie. It is an opportunity to have you in my place. I enjoyed every second of the short visit to the house before you check out. Thank you for your understanding, greetings to the rest of your group.

We had 13 people, adults and children. I would have needed 3 motel rooms, but was able to accomplish the same thing with this place. The owner was helpful in answering questions ahead of time, so that we knew what to expect upon arrival. Place was clean and neat. All were able to have beds. We were able to drive into the museum area easily - in about 15 min. We don't vacation much. This was a good place to stay for our D.C. vacation.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for everything. Hope to see you in DC again and you will receive a better treatment. Thanks

We arrived at night and I'm not going to lie, we are a group of white ppl that are for the most part not 'city slickers'. So it appeared a bit sketchy when we first got there however as the wknd progressed we became much more at ease. We did quite a bit of walking and NEVER had any problems in the neighborhood. The house was as described but I will say that while it adequately slept the 6 of us, lounging in the living room was a challenge with only one couch and one additional chair. We made do by utilizing the dining room chairs but it wasn't super comfortable however we had a place to sit so I'm not bitching too loudly. The home owner was most responsive if we had any questions and was eager to make sure we had what we needed. I would recommend this house and would probably stay here again.Owner response: Thanks for the review and I also thank you for giving me the opportunity to host you when you were in DC. Hope to see you in the future.

Tunde was an excellent host and was willing to accommodate our every need! The house is in the perfect location just one block from the bus to get to Union Station to ride the Metro to all the sites in DC! Beds were very comfortable. Neighborhood was quiet at night to get restful sleep. Nice large tub upstairs with plenty of hot water! Shower head was in need of repair. Second shower in basement was good. We had 7 people staying and never ran out of hot water. Washer was in need of repair so we could have used more towels for bath and kitchen. More cups and mugs wold have been nice too. We really enjoyed our time together playing games around the large kitchen table and sharing meals together before our daily tours. Thanks Tunde for being such a gracious host!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing.

The owner was very nice and allowed me to rent this place just for 1 night when no one else would allow us to rent for just one night. He even allowed me to make payment plans for my stay. The place was very nice and comfortable and the neighbors were extremely friendly and didn't bother us. i would highly recommand people to stay here and I would stay again.Owner response: Hi Brenda, I sincerely appreciate your comments. I try every day to make my quests happy, without them I woundn't be in business. It is my pleasure that people recognise my efforts. You are welcome to DC any day any time, this is your home in Washington whenever you are here. Thanks

Booked the home for a Girl Scout trip. Home was well kept, and host responded quickly to all requests. Would suggest to have a manual or book that lays out where things are and such, and maybe some assistance with the correct bus routes to get to and FROM the metro stations. The kitchen could use more than one pan size, and some more bowls ( and less plates). Also would suggest more regular type cups, as my girls drank their milk and juice from wineglasses. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home. We enjoyed our trip!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Michelle

We had a nice stay. The house was fine. Older house but has been remodeled. Inside was neat, had most everything we needed. Tunde responded to our small request quickly and was pleasant to meet. We live in a small city with lots of space and were not use to that type of setting. Houses are stacked next to each other, a little overwhelming when not used to big city life, but we had no problems. Neighbors were nice most everyone spoke and helped us navigate the bus stops. we took the bus to union station, then took the rail from there. we cooked 2 meals most every day we were there. I would have no problem staying here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for choosing 1119 Owen place for your vacation. Our daily goal is how to please our customers. Without them there is no business. I appreciate that you recognise our efforts to make things convenient for you.The manager is an architect and also a Registered Nurse with passion and care for people in his mind. Thanks

The owner was helpful and very quick to respond to my needs. I would probably not stay here again. The price was good but I am a runner and wasn't quite sure about the neighborhood, so I didn't get out to exercise. The neighbors all seemed friendly but they were out in the street making alot of noise until after 10 pm so it was hard to fall asleep in the front bedroom. On arriving the kitchen didn't seem as clean as I would of prefered. It was a good price and close to the sights.Owner response: I appreciate your interest and your patronage. We shall work with the cleaner to improve the standard. This is one of the safest place ith city.
