A quaint townhouse - Huntley Lodge is part of an original firehouse dating from 1812 - adjacent to Lodge Alley - a narrow cobblestone alley that connects historic East Bay Street and State Street that is reportedly the site of as many as 50 duels.

Enjoy your own private courtyard (walled and gated). This small private courtyard is adjacent to the large courtyard with gaslights and a large fountain which is part of the Historic Lodge Alley Inn "home away from home" for many celebrities that visit Charleston - Two blocks from Waterfront Park on the Charleston Harbor - steps away from most of Charleston's premier restaurants, two blocks from the Old Market, and an easy stroll to The Battery.

The townhouse has original wide plank heart pine floors upstairs and down. Two bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen bed and a king-size bed in the master; both bedrooms have private baths, and master bedroom has a small balcony overlooking the courtyard. There is a queen sleeper sofa downstairs in the main living area facing the fireplace and having access to a half bath. This home is ideal for two couples, or a couple with children.

  • Location, location, location! This lovely townhouse is in the perfect location to walk to most of Charleston's attractions. The size was ideal for two couples to share and the interior details were amazing. Although it was freezing while we were in Charleston, we were able to bundle up and enjoy ourselves and get back easily to the townhouse to thaw out. We would definitely stay at Huntley Lodge again.

  • Huntley Lodge is clean, comfortable, spacious, beautifully decorated, and well located. Right in the heart of the French Quarter, it is within steps of shops, fine restaurants and historic sites, and yet is very private and quiet. What a lovely place to stay!

  • We had the most delightful weekend in Charleston and it was due mostly to this wonderful home! The Huntley Lodge was perfect for our family get-together and was roomy enough for three couples. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. You will not be disappointed!

(from one who travels with her own pillow) MOrning and evening refreshment on the patio was the best part of the day! Pam was most hospitable, true "Southern Style" and provided answers to all questions before we even asked. Because she anticipated and managed all of the logistical issues of booking, arrival and departure so well, every moment of our trip was pure pleasure! We'll most certainly be returning.

  • My family has stayed in this beautiful townhouse twice. Our last stay was in December 2005. The owners and property manager are fantastic. The home is superior! We travel to Charleston several times per year and this is our favorite place to stay. All of your needs are catered too and the surroundings, including the private courtyard, are heavenly. You really must stay here, as you will probably never want to stay anywhere else again. Oh, almost forgot, the beds are heavenly and the gas fireplace adds to the charm. Perfect getaway and so easy to make the reservations. Terrific is the best way to describe it.
