Five girl friends came to Charleston for a week to celebrate our 20 years of friendship and traveling together. Lodge Alley is the PERFECT spot. 2 bedroom and 2 1/2 baths made it perfect for the 5 of us. Besides being a very nice townhouse, the location was SUPERB!!!! We just walked across the street to Charleston Cooks (a great kitchen shop that also offers cooking classes); we could through a rock and hit 4 of the best restaurants in Charleston right on E. Bay St. (S.N.O.B., Amen St. Restaurant and Raw Bar, High Cotton, and Magnolia). Within another 2 blocks was Cypress, McCradys and Blossom, all great restaurants. The City Market was a 2 block walk. We were able to walk a couple of blocks to catch the free trolley that took us to the Visitor's Center where we caught our bus for a tour of Charleston. It's also an easy way to get back home from King St. if you're loaded down with packages from your shopping expedition. Our townhouse was comfortable, clean and very attractive. We enjoyed having our evening cocktails in the courtyard just outside our gate. I would definitely recommend this to anyone coming to Charleston. You cannot find a better place to stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I just stayed here for the Thanksgiving Holiday. What an amazing place! My father traveled from Florida, my family from New York and my sister lives in Charleston. Perfectly located in the heart of everything! We did not need a car rental as we walked everywhere. The home is lovely. Clean and comfortable an amazing place to spend with my family. The court yard outside was great for my boys to run and play. If you are looking for a home away from home this is it!Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

When we arrived after a BIG storm we had no Internet connection for 5 days, the garbage disposal and iron did not work, and while we were there the A/C broke. Sounds like a nightmare right? Well it was NOT!! Pam took care of everything ASAP! My husband and I had one of the best vacations we have EVER had and we have traveled all over! We were there for 2 weeks and enjoyed every moment. The house is very comfortable and the beds were amazing! We were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go and if we couldn't, there were bicycle cabs everywhere. We shopped or ate until we needed a rest and because the house was so close to everything we were able to stroll home and recouperate. Location, location, location!! The only thing I would suggest, if you go in warm weather, ask that the A/C filter be cleaned so it won't freeze up. We had a WONDERFUL time and hope to goodness to return! We were in Charleston for a family wedding and decided to stay in the Lodge Alley townhouse rather than a hotel. It was an excellent choice! Staying here made us feel as if we lived in Charleston with all the comforts of home. We would definitely stay here again when in Charleston!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a perfect location. Home had all the amenities needed. Loved getting up in the morning and walking down to the Battery along the waterfront and back up Church St (one of my favorites in Charleston). Plenty of great nearby restaurants. Try the Husk bar for "boiled peanuts." Venues for Spoleto were all convenient. Easy walk to King St shopping. Overall just a wonderful experience! Also a great place for 2 couples traveling together.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just returned from a 2 day 2 night vacation to Charleston. This Town Home is everything it claims to be and more. We met friends there and felt like we were in a home. It was wonderful to be able to walk all over the historic district. We enjoyed the neighborhoods, historic homes, walking along the bay and Battery, restaurants, and shops. It was warm enough to enjoy coffee in the courtyard the first evening, and we were so glad to come in the enjoy the cozy fireplace after our explorations the second day. The beds are extremely comfy and the water instantly hot in the showers. We would recommend this to anyone who wants to explore Charleston from a lovely, quiet home away from home.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at Huntley Lodge October 2011. We have nothing but wonderful memories. The lodge is located central to all activities, well maintained, comfortable, cozy and an ambience of true Charleston charm. Additionally, the manager of the property was very accomodating and efficent. We hope to return to Huntley Lodge.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband, son and I stayed here for our fall break vacation and we totally loved everything about this beautiful townhome. Perfect location....we didn't even rent a car...walked or rode trolley to each location. Absolutely loved the private patio each morning!! This is my third trip to Charleston and I would definately chose to stay at this wonderful townhome again. Pam was wonderful to work with and was very accomodating.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

I traveled to Charleston for a girl's weekend with 5 friends. We loved this home! It was beautifully decorated, clean, and close to everything we wanted to do for the 3 nights we visited. Pam was very accomodating & even helped me sneak a gift down so it was waiting for my friends upon their arrival. We loved every minute of our trip & would definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We rented this house to stay at in Charleston while there for our wedding. We wanted something close to everything that would also be a wonderful place to get ready at and this was everything we wanted and more! Everything was wonderful and comfortable and it was so close to everything! It was such a great location because our reception location was literally a minute's walk away. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this townhouse to everyone!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The Huntley Lodge is absolutely the best place we have ever stayed in Downtown Charleston. The location is perfect - we just parked our car in the garage (a block away) and kept it there all weekend. Everything was within walking distance - the Market, the Waterfront Park, and all of the beautiful historic homes to walk around. Some of the best restaurants in Charleston are just steps away (SNOB, High Cotton and Blossom are all excellent and within a block) and the beautifully restored Dock Street Theatre is only 2 blocks away. The townhome is spacious and features a brick fireplace and beautiful old wide-plank floors. Having a private courtyard in the heart of downtown was also a fantastic amenity. Everything was privided for a comfortable stay and the owners were teriffic to work with. We have never stayed anywhere in Charleston quite so quiet either - the townhome has a private walled courtyard that opens onto a larger open courtyard - unlike some other places we have stayed downtown, there is no road noise here! Stay here and you will not be disappointed ... we have stayed a number of places in Charleston and it is not possible to find a better value or a more convenient location than the Huntley Lodge.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I recently stayed here with several of my girlfriends for a weekend away. We squeezed in some shopping, beach time and fabulous dining all along the way. One of the best parts of the weekend was 'Huntley Lodge.' It was perfect! Plenty of space, nicely decorated and incredibly comfortable. The beds were great! The best part was walking out the gate into the heart of Charleston. The location is unbelieveable. I had a wonderful time and I know I'll be returning as soon as I can!Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A perfect hideaway, centrally located, but away from the noise. We walked everywhere and actually found a parking garage around the corner from the townhome for only 7/day with free in and out. Everyone was right about the beds-better than mine at home! It was the perfect home away from home for our Charleston Getaway. Loved the private courtyard. Beautifully decorated with period pieces. Fantastic location. Pam, the Manager, sent us perfect introductory materials. They answered all our questions plus some we never thought of. Will definitely arrange our next Charleston trip around their availability.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We were fortunate enough to be able to book Huntley Lodge over Christmas 2009 and stayed for 11 days. We can't believe there is another townhouse so centrally located and with such charm and convenience as this one! Tons of great restaurants within walking distance, safe places to jog or walk during the day and a fully equipped house to enjoy. Harris Teeter's grocery is less than a half mile up the street, and a $12 per night parking garage is less than a block away on Cumberland St.. The gas fireplace was a welcome addition during the cold snap!Pam Tuttle, who manages the property, could not have been more helpful, thoughtful or responsive. We would go back in a heartbeat should we visit Charleston again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Location, location, location! This lovely townhouse is in the perfect location to walk to most of Charleston's attractions. The size was ideal for two couples to share and the interior details were amazing. Although it was freezing while we were in Charleston, we were able to bundle up and enjoy ourselves and get back easily to the townhouse to thaw out. We would definitely stay at Huntley Lodge again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The townhouse keeps getting better and better each year we visit. Comfortable, cozy, convenient, great location, it has everything we could ask for. It was good to meet your daughter, Holly, and to learn about Gatsby, Kassius, and Hank. Absolutly beautiful and immaculate townhome, perfect location, perfect size, SO comfortable..........OH THE BEDS!!! (from one who travels with her own pillow) MOrning and evening refreshment on the patio was the best part of the day! Pam was most hospitable, true "Southern Style" and provided answers to all questions before we even asked. Because she anticipated and managed all of the logistical issues of booking, arrival and departure so well, every moment of our trip was pure pleasure! We'll most certainly be returning.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family has stayed in this beautiful townhouse twice. Our last stay was in December 2005. The owners and property manager are fantastic. The home is superior! We travel to Charleston several times per year and this is our favorite place to stay. All of your needs are catered too and the surroundings, including the private courtyard, are heavenly. You really must stay here, as you will probably never want to stay anywhere else again. Oh, almost forgot, the beds are heavenly and the gas fireplace adds to the charm. Perfect getaway and so easy to make the reservations. Terrific is the best way to describe it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This Villa was charming and very comfortable. It was quiet and relaxing yet perfectly located in the heart of downtown Charleston. We were able to walk to all the restaurants we wanted to sample, walk to more unique shopping experiences than I've seen in one place and walk through the beatuful historic districts till we dropped! If you are going to visit Cahrleston you'll love this place.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This is simply an incredibly quaint, convenient and beautiful place to stay when visiting Charleston! I just returned from my first trip to Charleston with a group of girlfriends and we enjoyed our trip and stay immensely. The owners were wonderful to deal with prior to the visit and the photos and description still don't do this townhome justice....as pretty as they are. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this tonwhome to anyone (especially to those with a small group). Thank you for sharing this little treasure with us.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
