A Distressed Property
A Distressed Property
We had a family reunion in both Waterfront Shores I and Waterfront Shores II in the summer of 2011. The property is older, but offered lake access for a large group on a budget. We had trouble with the refrigerator in the larger house (a double-wide mobile home). The air conditioner on this house also froze up on the first night, causing a warm sleeping environment. The lake cabin next door, though cute, was dirty with dead cock roaches on the floor, and cob webs across the beds in the loft area. We had to use the refrigerator in this unit to keep milk and meats cool enough to avoid spoilage. It looked like a gate had been planned in the chain link fence which ran between the properties, but the gate was leaning against the fence, and the fence had just been cut open to allow passage. The lake is right out back with good access even during the drought which we were experiencing. Though this allowed our family to have a great visit, renters should know that it is a distressed property.

Owner response: I find this review to be Very Untrue and insulting. Our properties are far from being Distressed and I think that you can determine that from our pictures. I have remodeled dozens of homes in Dallas and know what a distressed property is. Not Waterfront Shores. The AC did freeze up and it was fixed immediately. That could have happen to any rental unit especially when trying to cool too fast when temperatures are over 100% for more than 60 days this summer. There is nothing wrong with the fridge and we are still using it. Every fridge cycles goes through a defrost mode, then it goes back into cooling mode again. We have added water bottles in the fridge and freezer to stablize the temp when empty and during the defrost mode. Because we were out of state during their stay, we did overlook having our cleaning crew freshen up the cabin before their arrival. Linens were clean, but no one rented the week before. So we cant coment on if there was a cob web or bug on the floor. We have used the same cleaning company for 3 years and pay a little more than the going rate because of the trust, reliablilty and excellant cleaning service provided. We do have a removable gate between both properties to make it easier for groups to go back and forth as well as the maintance people and Yard service company; otherwise guests and crew would have to walk all the way around. We do plan on making it permanent before next summer. We try to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We recently went throught both properties and replaced all of the flooring, sheets, covers, towels. We have updated everything to look as nice and comfortable as possible for our Guest. Again I think that can be seen in the pictures that we have posted. There are always improvements that can be made, but this property is one of the Best lake front open water properties for rent on Ceder Creek lake as most are on coves and inlets with very little view and little to no water when the lake is down. This property has a 6 miles open water view of the Lake. In 3 full seasons of rental properties we have never had a bad review and would be happy to provide other references of people that have come and stayed at Waterfront Shores. We respectfully request that this review be removed. Thank you Grant
