  We had an excellent stay at your beautiful house!! Love the way it's furnished. Made us feel right at home....absolutely loved the pool. It was an awesome surprise and used it daily! It was great to open the doors to the pool from the living room and have the outside living space part of the inside space! Although it was just the two of us, next time we come we can bring our entire family along with the grandkids.......great place to return too! Thank you so much for the use of your gorgeous home.

  House and pool was not clean.

  Owner response: My husband and I take a lot of pride in making our home as perfect as possible for our guests. We want you to have an unforgettable experience and fall in love with our home as much as we did; this is not a business for us, it is our home we have chosen to share with our guests. My husband and I have traveled much and we understand what is like to be disappointed which is why we try so hard not to let our guests down in any way. Had we been contacted about this at check-in it would have been taken care of immediately. Our caretaker Emily and her husband have been taking care of our home for years and never once have I had a complaint. She chooses the homes that she cleans and takes a lot of pride in her work & reputation.

  We recently stayed here for a handful of days, of which we were very busy exploring this side of the island. We wished we would have stayed a few days longer to enjoy the beautiful pool more. The layout of the house is great, my husband loved the outside lava shower and my dad enjoyed the 1 block walk to fish in the ocean. We (the ladies) were slightly taken aback by the geckos at first but we quickley learned that we could all coexist without a problem. I can understand why some feel the frogs at night are soothing but they may take a little getting used to. This is great for large families or groups as the layout of the house allows for every room to have it’s own privacy. For families with young children, there is a door in every bedroom to the outside of which they can reach the pool. This is nothing against the house as for most people this works great, just wanted to let those with little ones know to be prepared.

  Totally amazing. The photos do not do it justice. The house is absolutely gorgeous. We loved barbequing food from the farmers market a few miles away. Our kid LOVED the outdoor shower and pool, and gramma and grandpa loved their suite separate from the main house for a bit of peace and quiet. There is one step to get in, but otherwise was very accessible for someone whom had just had knee replacement. The house has everything you will need for an amazing trip. We had the chance to meet Corey while we were there and he was very friendly and helpful. We all cannot recommend it enough. Would love to stay here again.

  The House of Paddles was awesome! My wife and I really enjoyed our stay there and would love to come back. We would definitely recommend it to a friend, etc. The house is very well decorated and quite impressive. Everything was as described and the home was on a spacious private lot. The sound of the frogs at night as well as the sounds of the nearby ocean and starlit skies were very soothing. We loved the pool. This is a good central location for access to Volcanoes Park and Waipio Valley among other attractions. Thanks again to the owners! Nice place!

  My wife and I really injoyed our stay at the House of Paddles. The house is fabulous and very well apportioned . We were surprised at the size of the house and quality of workmanship. The pool was wonderful and the surrounding area was amazing with all of the plants and flowers. The location is very private and quiet, yet only a block from the Ocean. We would definetly stay there again.

  This beautiful home was the perfect get-away for our large family! My husband and I were able to enjoy the privacy of the detached master suite with the open air shower and bathroom. The 6 kids had 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms to share in the main house. The salt water pool was crystal clear, and there were pool toys and board games to keep everyone occupied when we did have some "down time." This home is conveniently located for exploring the beauty of the Puna and Hilo area.Thanks again, Cory! We definitely plan to stay here again!

  The house and property were so lovely and exceeded our expectations. All of the details were done well - very nice dishes, cookware, towels, linens -- way above the quality of other rentals. There were four bedrooms, with one in an office/laundry room and one in a separate (but very close) guest house with an outdoor lava shower! We enjoyed swimming in the private pool, glimpsing at the ocean through the bedroom window, and falling asleep to singing frogs. This home is an ideal place to stay to see the volcano and other sites in Hilo and Puna. Our only suggestion is to add a few more place settings (plates, forks, spoons) for more than 4 people and perhaps a welcome packet with information about grocery stores, restaurants & sites in the area. The neighbors were friendly, though, and pointed us the right way. We would definitely stay here again.

  Great experience at the House of Paddles. First time users of vrbo and would highly recommend this property. The location and photos were right on; The owner responded with any concerns immediately. We would definitely come back here to stay. Close to thermal pools, baths, Hilo, grocery stores. The quaint village of Pahoa deserves a second look.

  This place is quite magical, a great home away from home. My 2 kids stayed home with dad while I went to work in Hilo, and we didn't want to leave. The salt water pool is perfect for kids. Two block walk to the ocean, great to sit, watch and relax. The house itself is awesome! Outdoor shower was exotic; 2 other full bathrooms, handicap accessible. Good WiFi. We really liked the way the house was decorated--aesthetically pleasurable. Beds, very comfortable. Kitchen range, gas, a treat to use. Check out the smoothies at the market in Keaau. Reef pools nearby were beautiful, perfect for a dip or for snorkeling. Pahoa has a great natural food store with yummy deli food and low-key vibe.
