Incredible views from every window and door. My family and I spent time here in the hottest part of the year. Sat outside every evening while it was over 90 degrees and enjoyed the beauty of this place without breaking a sweat. By the time we walked inside it was too late to watch TV. Very quiet, never heard a neighbor. In the mornings I would here a coon dog miles down the road and that would be the only sound I would here. We will defiantly be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

After researching everything I could about Castle Valley and the Moab area prior to our trip, along with the owner’s prompt and helpful emails, the house and surrounding area STILL exceeded our expectations! My wife and I spent a wonderful week enjoying the tranquility of the home ourselves prior to being joined by family and friends. The house was perfect for the two of us but also handled our larger group with no problem. The web site pictures of the home very accurately reflect what you will experience; you will not be disappointed! The house is located at the base of Porcupine Rim and provides breathtaking views overlooking all of Castle Valley. The sunrises and sunsets, and views of Round Mountain and La Sal mountains, can be seen and ‘felt’ from either lounging outside on the patio or relaxing inside from the panoramic windows. The house is located about a 35 minute drive from Moab which gets you away from all cars, noise, lights at night, etc. This means you need to take this driving time into account for most outings but this is a small trade-off for what you get in return for the location. The almost daily drive along the Colorado River provided a collage of changing colors and shadows on the red rock cliffs and mesas that we never tired of viewing. Our favorite nearby outing was to Fisher Tower tails which is NOT to be missed. Each day of our vacation was filled with mountain biking and/or hiking on the almost endless assortment of trails but, as hard as we tried, we did not get to everything we wanted which simply means we need to come back to this wonderful home and pick up where we left off!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a terrific time in the house, and as someone who does a lot of vacation rentals, I thought the house provided excellent value for the cost. The views were breathtaking, day and night (I saw the best shooting star of my life on our last night there).Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I've stayed in many homes around the country and this place ranks among the most soulful, peaceful and graceful of any. Truly excellent architecture which fits right into its magnificent surroundings. Walking into the house I was struck with an immediate sense of grander. The kitchen, living and dining all combine to produce a great room that held our parties gathering of eight with ease. Cooking, in the fully equipped kitchen, dining and just hanging around were more than a delight here. One passes easily from the great room onto the flagstone patio where you'll just be stunned by the panorama from Parriott Mesa to the 12,000 foot LaSals, not to mention the incredible spire of Castle Rock. Sitting on the detached patio we were in awe of Porupine Mesa which rises directly behind the home. The bedrooms are all graciously sized, very comfortable, without being ostentatious in the least. Both bathtubs are large. The only thing the house could use is a bit more landscaping, but when your in this beautiful desert we didn't feel it was a great deficit. It was really nice to have a Wi-Fi connection, plus a pretty good stereo system that the owners have made I-Pod compatible. Bring your music! We never once missed the lack of TV reception and took advantage of a pretty wacky collection of old VHS tapes at the house, even though the TV is small - who cares when all the hiking and exploring around this incredible piece of country. The owners have created a home with grace and ease in a stunning seating. It was hard to leave.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I had an amazing time at this lovely getaway in the desert. The house is beautiful- with fantastic desert views of the valley. Evenings spent on the patio stargazing with friends were the perfect capstone to fabulous hikes through the desert. Arches National Park is in your backyard- just about literally. Canyonlands, more rugged than Arches, but full of wonder and beauty is a little further down the road. This is a wonderful place to get away from it all and the house is appointed with all you need to do just that. Just add friends/family for a lovely place to get away from it all and experience a part of the country that is tranquil, wild, and full of beauty at every turn.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Loved my stay at this house. In fact, it was so lovely to be there, it was sometimes a challenge to leave to explore the glorious areas nearby (although we did plenty of hikes nearby and further away). The house was in perfect condition, with all the amenities that one needs- great stocked kitchen, plenty of towels/blankets (not that we needed them with the warm weather), hot showers with a view, etc... but what really made this place so great was the views- 360 degree views in every direction of drop dead gorgeous red rock mountains... Thank you for the great time- watching the stars at night, the sunsets/sunrises, easy to use kitchen, and comfortable beds. The bathroom was nice too- showering as one looks at such views with the privacy of not worrying who can see you... was a real treat. I hope I can return again and again, and I would certainly recommend this house to others. It is in a remote location- so plan ahead (buy groceries in Moab- about 17 miles away, but that was never a problem). As long as one wants a secluded location in comfort, you will love this place.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I've stayed here a couple times now, and I'm more enchanted each time I'm there. The views from the house make you feel like you're in a national park. I love the solitude. It's so quiet you can hear the wings of the ravens hundreds of feet above you, as you sit on the patio watching the reds and oranges spark on the cliffs at sunset. The views from the windows are phenomenal and you're set with a perfect kitchen that's really in a "grand room" with the living room and dining room both there, all looking out at Castle Rock. So close to hiking, rafting, mountains—all of nature right at your back door. I love this house and highly recommend it. I could spend half the year here...if life only worked out that way!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
