Welcome to beautiful Matunuck! This is quintessential New England at it's best. Our cottage is in the heart of the community, directly across the street from the ocean, and only a few minutes walk to the beaches.
Sit on the new deck and hear the ferry and feel the ocean breeze. We are located right on Matunuck Beach Rd, and a short walk to pizza, the village grocery, surf shop, The Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (a RI staple), Joyce's Family Pub, and The Ocean Mist (voted best beach bar in the US!) A mile away is Theater by the Sea, which is a wonderful summer theater.
We are located minutes from Narragansett, 20 minutes to Newport, and 35 minutes from Providence.
Our home is fully equipped, just bring your linens and towels. there are 3 bedrooms upstairs: 1 queen, 1 full, and 1 single with a trundle underneath. We also have an enclosed sun porch with a full-sized futon. A portable crib is also available at your request. Our bathroom has just been fully remodeled and includes a new front-loader washer and dryer. There are ocean views from the sun porch and the 2nd floor bedrooms - you can see all the way to Block Island on clear days.
We offer a beach cart to make the short walk to the sand even easier. There are 2 beaches to choose from: Turn left outside the front door and in 3 minutes you will be on a small beach that is a favorite of board and kite surfers. Turn right at the front door and after a 5 minute walk you are on Matunuck (or South Kingstown) Beach. This sandy beach has big waves, a snack bar, showers, and a playground.

My family recently stayed at this cottage for a wedding in Newport. Prior to our arrival, Ellen was so accomodating and friendly - we were really happy with the cottage - it's cute and clean, the kitchen is fully stocked; there is a great deck with comfortable patio furniture and a wonderful grill - we ate every meal out there. You bring your own linens and towels; aside from that, there was nothing that we needed - there's a great TV, and a nice renovated bathroom shower. There are beaches all around you and within walking distance - and a couple of fun college type bars just a few steps down the street with live music. The whole area has a real 'beachy' feel to it. There are houses all around you, but it's very quiet and peaceful. A place where you can really kick back and relax. Also, it's close to the train station, which was good for us.
