My wife and I have 4 teenagers and this was simply a great place for our family vacation. Coming from hot Texas in August, the cool mornings and evenings felt amazing. We had plenty of room, the kitchen was very nice (we cooked most of our meals there), the washer/dryer was helpful, and the place was charming. We enjoyed having coffee on the front porch and listening to the river in the morning. We also really enjoyed hiking and trail running on the Croiser Trail that is less than a mile from the cabin. We were not able to take advantage of the fly fishing on the property, but my kids stil enjoyed fishing at a public park just south of Drake. The grounds around the cabin were really well kept. With the fenced yard, it is a good place for younger children. We made the short drive to Estes Park and RMNP several times, but I think everyone was excited to leave the more tourist areas and return to our very serene mountain cabin. The owners are very responsive and easy to work with in the process. This place is both a very nice value and a great place to create family memories. We'd love to come back! We are so grateful to have discovered Mountain Ranch Retreat.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

What a wonderful house -- convenient to Estes Park (20 minutes) but also very private and quiet. The house is spotlessly clean, charming and welcoming, the kitchen is very well appointed, and we were sad we couldn't stay longer! The stream on the property was fun for wading and cooling off, the patio was our favorite place for morning coffee, and the screen porch was perfect for evening dinners and curling up with a book. RMNP offers great hiking and exploring nearby, and Estes Park has fun shopping and people-watching.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mountain Ranch Retreat...very peaceful and comfortable....one of the few times that the place is actually nicer than the pictures that are shown...definitely will consider staying there again. We ran into a couple of unavoidable snafus with the property and the owners were very prompt and considerate and it did not negatively effect our stay....that in itself speaks volumes about the property and it's owners...Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This home exceeded all expectations! The remodeled cabin still had the old charm of a mountain cabin but with modern, convenient, and top-of-the-line appointments. Absolutely beautiful setting and so close to trails. We hiked the Crosier Mtn trail one day, then headed off to RMNP to hike on day two. If we had stayed longer, we would certainly have taken advantage of the fishing opportunities. Never wanted to leave!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
