Our three hundred year old home, entirely renovated in old Portuguese style with today's amenities, is situated in the Sintra region on a promentory overlooking the village of Penedo, the ocean, shoreline, villages, valleys and the Sintra mountains within the Sintra-Cascais National Park with a view of the famous Pena Castle.
A truly incredible three hundred and sixty degree view from two hundred and twenty three meters above sea level. Private, isolated, and secure. The property is entirely enclosed with its own parking area, out buildings, swimming pool, water fall, and beautiful gardens providing total peace and quiet.
Furnished with every comfort. Lovely antiques, Chinese blue and white porcelain, books and music, all for our enjoyment and that of our friends and guests. The property and the home are both cozy and elegant.
There is easy access to shopping, restaurants, beaches, other villages, the Sintra-Cascais National park, the towns of Cascais, Estoril and Lisbon.
The historical Sintra village is fifteen minutes away by car, Cascais and Estoril twenty five minutes away, the airport or downtown Lisbon, forty minutes. Many varied sports and cultural events are nearby. The area is an ideal spot for a truly different and relaxed holiday.

Architect's Home Located in a Unique and Beautiful Location
Calcada da Eira has two entrances but the two entrances do not connect. The first entrance you see when driving to the property, will not get you to the property......USE THE SECOND ENTRANCE
Praia Adraga is very close to us by car or bike. You can also walk to it from the home property as the walk to it is not far (20 minutes max.), but the walk is going down to the beach from a mountain and when you decide to come back you will find the walk a bit difficult if you are not a good walker as you will be walking up the mountain.....It is possible and I as a 71 year do it but it will take your time.
A lovely beach with much more action than Praia Adraga. You can drive along the beach shore. There are restaurants, and , other commerce including a Hotel. It is also where the surfing boards european competitions are held or have been held.....GOOD SURFING and BEAUTIFUL SUNSETS

We rented this lovely home in June 2011 for one week. We've previously rented in the Caribbean and the US. This was our first rental in Europe and our first trip to Portugal. The home overlooks the little village of Penedo with views of the sea, nearby Pena Castle and gorgeous views from every angle! Our hosts live close by which was great in case we had any questions (we did) or if anything went wrong (it didn't). They were simply wonderful. We were made to feel like family and thoroughly enjoyed their company. I have absolutely no negative comments. We enjoyed every minute of our vacation. Frankly, we hated to leave.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers.
