A Christmas Wedding for our Son

I would like to start out by saying everything was absolutely PERFECT!!!! I can't express enough to you how much our family and our Daughter-in-laws family loved the Cabin/Lodge. My wife also appreciated the fact that you took the time to drive down from your home and put up a Christmas tree for us, which by the way became a fixture in the Wedding Reception photos. There was a total of Twenty-Six people in our party there for our Son's Wedding. We had more then enough room for everyone and all the amenities were exactly as you described. The pool table, video arcade game and the theater room were a big hit with everybody along with the hot tub. The large fully equiped kitchen was a big plus and allowed us more then ample space for all the catered food that was delivered for the reception. Of course the highlight for us was the Wedding, but the 3 inches of snow that fell the evening of the Wedding made it that much more magical for everyone. Everybody had a wonderful time and they wanted me to let you know how pleased they were with everything. I would also like to say that I fell in love many things about this place, but there are four things that stood out in my mind and those were, (1) The Cabin, (2) The View, (3) The Floors and (4) The shower in the Main Master Bedroom, I never wanted to get out of it. Pam, you and your husband were more then helpful with all my questions and concerns and I want to thank you personally for taking all the worry about where everyone would stay and where we would hold the reception. Believe me, when we drove up to the entrance of the Cabin, I couldn't decide which was better, the Amazing view of the mountains or the view of the Cabin itself. To you and your Husband - Thank you for sharing the Wilderness Lodge with my family and my new family and we hope to be back in 2013. Here's wishing you and your family a Happy New Year!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, families with teenagers, people with disabilities.
Owner response: Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We are so glad that your stay was a wonderful and memorable one. It is great that you were able to enjoy the amenities the cabin had to offer such as the theater room, hot tub, and large kitchen. We agree that taking a shower in the Master bath is a wonderful experience. The mountains themselves are spectacular, and we are pleased that the snowfall added an extra touch of magic to your stay. We look forward to you booking another stay with us!

We vacationed at this beautiful home to celebrate my Mom's 90th birthday. Our family included people aged 4 months to 90 years and we all had a great time! The home was very clean and there was plenty of room for all of us (a group of 27 people). I would recommend air mattresses if you are using the sleeper sofas. The other beds were very comfortable. We loved everything about the home ! We have rented homes many times for our family reunion and these owners were great - the best we have ever worked with! We rode the ziplines at Climbworks canopy and loved it, hiked, played golf, went to the aquarium, went white water rafting....I guarantee you will not run out of things to do in the area. We would definitely recommend this home as a great place to stay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

The title says it all - when we arrived, we ran from room to room like excited kids, checking out the views and the rooms until we stood on the balcony speechless and in awe. The main bedroom shower was so relaxing (ten shower heads, really!), and the view from the bed was such a pleasure to wake up to. I did yoga in the mornings on the balcony, the birds my soundtrack to relaxation. Gatlinburg is just a 15 minute drive, so it was nice to be so close to shops and restaurants, yet so secluded from the sound of the highway. The fire pit was such a welcome end to the day. There were a couple of very minor issues, but nothing that we couldn't work around. Several pots and pans, glasses, ect were put away dirty, so we wound up washing dishes a few times before we cooked. Also, I would recommend planning on printing out directions, information, to all of the things you have planned to do while here before your stay, as the router is terribly outdated, and essentially a dial up connection, which kept dropping. Only a couple of us were able to get reception, and the cabin phones were not working, so communication with "the outside world" was difficult - don't plan on spending all of your time working, or uploading photos to FaceBook. There was a dead mouse in one of the closets (blech!). I let the girl at the office know all of this, and she seemed pretty unconcerned and apathetic, unfortunately. All in all, it was an incredible place to spend a few days/nights, and anyone who has the chance to come out will be exceedingly pleased.Owner response: Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We are glad you enjoyed the home, fire pit and views. I am disappointed to hear you had issues with some pots and pans and the desk person was unconcerned with what you found. Since we are long distance owners, we rely on the property management company to take care of our property and attend to our guests. I will let them know we, and our guests, expect more from their service! We hope you will come and stay with us again!!

We visited the wilderness lodge over thanksgiving and it was wonderful. The view from the home is breathtaking. There is a fire pit area with wood stumps to sit on and our family of 18 had a lot of fun roasting marshmallows and telling stories around the fire. The home is large and gave us plenty of space to spread out. Hot tub was an added plus. The home is very well stocked (we even cooked thanksgiving dinner there). You cant go wrong with this home.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Thanks so much for letting us stay at your beautiful cabin! The property more than accommodated our thirty + guests for my friends' bachelor/bachelorette party weekend! The amenities at the cabin definitely exceeded our expectations! There was ample sleeping room for everyone and tons of space for everyone to spread out and enjoy the weekend. The wrap-around porch provided beautiful views of the mountains and was a particularly great spot for breakfast and reading in the mornings. Our group also enjoyed evenings by the firepit and the hot tub. The kitchen and outdoor grilling area were perfect for getting together meals for our large group. We didn't really venture out to any nearby attractions - the group entertained itself all weekend at the cabin! Thanks again!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Thanks so much for sharing your amazing home with us. It's literally at the top of the mountain with lots of outdoor space for kids to play and woods to explore. The firepit was awesome too. The kitchen and multiple living areas allowed our group of 20 to spread out and never be on top of each other. We had awesome meals together and there was plenty of room for us to all eat together. We came to Gatlinburg to celebrate my milestone birthday, hike the Smokies, zip line with Climbworks Canopy (which was AWESOME and very close by) and just connect with great friends. Your home was truly the BEST place for this. We cannot thank you enough for sharing it with us!Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks so much for choosing to stay with us! We are glad you enjoyed the property and amenities the area has to offer. We are also glad to see you enjoyed the firepit. We just added that this year and hoped our guests would enjoy it as much as we do. Thanks again and please remember us when you come back to the Great Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg, TN!
