Wandsworth apartment description

This traditional apartment is in a Georgian building in popular Belgravia, near Chelsea, with many upmarket restaurants, cafes and boutiques right on your door step.

The apartment is set on the second and third floors (no lift). The hallway takes you up the stairs and the main bathroom is located on the half-landing and has a shower with a loo, sink and a glass shower unit. On the second floor you'll find a stylish and spacious sitting room. There are a couple of sofas and armchairs – including a trendy tiger print chair – and some modern glass coffee tables. This room is an interesting mix of traditional and contemporary, and the sash windows, carpeted floors, antique paintings and the open fireplace make this a homely space. There is also a dining area, with a dark wood table and chairs – a lovely spot for an evening meal.

The kitchen is well-equipped, with modern grey/silver fitted cupboards and stainless steel appliances, including a hob and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, dishwasher and washer/dryer.

Both bedrooms are on the top (third) floor. The master bedroom has a double bed, a dark wood bedside table and two chests of drawers. There are wooden floors, rugs, and a dressing area off this room with an antique dressing table and stool. The en suite bathroom has pretty wallpaper, a bath, a sink and a loo.

The second bedroom also has a double bed, a bedside table and a desk and chair for any paperwork.

This apartment is in a fantastic position in the heart of affluent Central/West London. Belgravia is an area known for its luxury shops and spas. Sloane Square, in upmarket Chelsea, is only an 8 minute walk away and is home to many designer outlets including Hugo Boss and Tiffany’s. Sloane Street which runs off this Square also has many more high end brands.

The famous King’s Road in Chelsea begins at Sloane Square and runs West. There is a huge array of popular restaurants, trendy bars, cafes and boutique shops to explore along this street. There is also the Saatchi Gallery, a few supermarkets and a cinema along this stretch too. The nearby area of Knightsbridge, just a short taxi or bus ride away, is home to department stores Harrods and Harvey Nichols and a stroll from these is Heston Blumenthal’s restaurant.

The closest tube station is Victoria, a 7 minute walk away which joins the Victoria, Circle and District lines. From here it is only 2 stops (5 minutes) from Oxford Street and a 10 minute journey to Leicester Square for the West End and the theatre scene. It will take you less than 15 minutes to get to Covent Garden for the markets and upmarket shops too.

Sloane Square is also on the Circle and District lines and is an 8 minute walk from the flat. From there it is only 1 stop to South Kensington for the museums – Natural History, Victoria & Albert and Science Museums.

Guests please note babies are fine but this house is not suitable for teenage children.

Location

Westminster is a well-to-do, historical area with many prestigious landmarks and visitor attractions. It provides a wide choice of parks and open spaces such as St. James Park and Green Park, as well as political London icons 10 Downing Street and the Houses of Parliament. The Palace of Westminster, ‘Big Ben’, Buckingham Palace - home to the Queen of England - and Westminster Abbey where Kate Middleton and Prince William were married, are all in this beautiful area. Parliament Square, with its lawn and statues of past statesmen, is a popular tourist spot and a space from which you can see some of the most iconic architecture of the Capital.

Families will enjoy this area, with many luxurious modern developments nestled amongst the traditional period homes which provide plenty of space. Take a walk along the Victoria Embankment which has some brilliant views of the city’s skyline, and if you head to the Southwest, the area of Victoria has many restaurants, bars and shops to explore, particularly in Cardinal Place. One eatery of note is in the Old Westminster Library which dates back to 1893 and was transformed into an upmarket Indian restaurant in 2001: The Cinnamon Club.
