Superbly located two floor apartment in the centre of the hippest part of London. Shoreditch, once famed for the Brit Pop artists is now the 'tech hub' of the Capital, with a wealth of interesting boutiques, restaurants, galleries to explore.
This converted warehouse is notably the first of its kind in the area, before the trend got hold of local developers, which explains its enormous proportions. You are greeted with a huge open plan living space, comprising the kitchen, the dining room and a neat outdoor terrace. On this lower level you’ll also find 2 further rooms (which can be used as bedrooms or further living spaces) and a bathroom. One of these rooms is set up as the TV room, with a huge chalk board, where a luxurious blow up bed can be quickly assembled for use as a bedroom; the other room has a king size sofa-bed. These two rooms are adjoined by double doors, so you can use this flexible space as you need.
Upstairs, via the spiral staircase, or via the communal apartment’s lift, you have the second family bathroom and two single bedrooms, which are very spacious. There are toys and books in these rooms which younger guests are welcome to use. Moving down the hallway you'll find another single bedroom which also acts as office, fit with designer desk and modern printer and scanner.
At the end of the corridor is the sumptuous double master bedroom, which shows off lovely interior design pieces including a four poster bed and a equally gorgeous en-suite bathroom.
The whole house is decorated very tastefully, artistically and a lean towards a minimalist style. No surprise here, the owners are an artist and a local property developer. You really are treated to an unique slice of Shoreditch styling here.
The transport links are very good in this central zone 1 location. Within 5 minute's walk is the new Shoreditch High Street Overground station. From here you can be in Kensington in around 30 minutes and you can travel as far as Kew Gardens or Richmond on this line; it also takes you down to Canary Wharf in about 10 minutes. You are extremely well connected for the Underground, with both Liverpool St and Old St stations just over a 5 minute walk. Between them, you have access to the Central, Northern, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan lines, giving you easy access to most areas of London eg Oxford Street in about 15 mins and Sloane Square for Harrod's and Knightsbridge in 20 mins.
There are plenty of buses too, should you wish to take in the views while travelling... 55 bus will take you directly to Tottenham Court Road in about 20 minutes, catch the 149 for London Bridge/Shakespeare’s Globe and Tate Modern, and the 243 for Waterloo Station.
You are spoilt for choice on restaurants, cafes, bars, nightlife, art galleries and general cultural life in this vibrant local area. For a little bit of shopping it's worth mentioning the new pop up shopping mall 'Box Park' next to Shoreditch Overground station and Rivington Street. You can walk to Spitalfields Market, which is most vibrant on a Sunday, and has stalls and shops open every day of the week. Head up to Columbia Road Flower Market on a Sunday morning for fresh flowers, street food and Cockney accents! Whitechapel and parts of the City were Jack the Ripper’s haunts and you might like to take a tour. Leadenhall Market was used for some scenes in the Harry Potter movies. Take a stroll through the City and take in the wonderful architecture – everything from the classical columns at the Royal Exchange to the modern style of the Lloyd’s Building, the Gherkin and Heron Tower. Walk on down south for about 25 minutes and you’ll reach the Tower of London.

Shoreditch is an East End suburb with an interesting cultural mix of people and venues. There’s a distinct lack of chain stores, and an edge to every one of the boutique shops, taverns, bars and restaurants. The area has a hip vibe, and is a hub for fashionistas, artists and musicians. Wander Shoreditch High Street and its side streets and you’ll find an assortment of trendy clubs and cafes, vintage shops and street wear shops. A particular hotspot at the weekends is nightclub Cargo on Rivington Street.
Spitalfields to the South has a colourful history and the marketplace underwent a lengthy regeneration programme which resulted in the creation of two new public spaces: Bishops Square and Crispin Place. Amongst the food stalls, clothes and jewellery stalls are cocktail bars and designer shops such as the Mischa Barton Boutique.
A little way around the corner from Shoreditch and the City is vibrant Brick Lane, better known as the curry mile, offering the adventurous foodie a fragrant haven of all things Asian. The Whitechapel Art Gallery, which has debuted world-class artists such as Pablo Picasso, Lucien Freud and Gilbert & George, is on nearby Whitechapel Road.
If you’re looking for a unique home rental in an up and coming area, Shoreditch is the area of the moment, with a variety of distinctive modern apartments as well as period properties and mews homes.
