Are you looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer? Then this quaint cabin nestled in the woods on beautiful Caribou Lake is the perfect place for you. Located just 25 minutes north of Grand Rapids, Caribou Lake is one of the deepest and clearest lakes in all of Minnesota with a Secchi dish reading of 42-feet! The cabin is elevated giving you a beautiful view of the lake with a private dock perfect for swimming, fishing and watching the sunset. Caribou’s crystal clear water is ideal for canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, swimming and other water activities. The cabin is conveniently located near several hiking, biking and cross-country skiing trails.
The cabin has a rustic, warm feel with inviting pine paneling and newly replaced flooring (inclusion of carpeting upstairs). Other renovations include a new deck and a beautiful screen porch perfect for enjoying the mornings and evenings with the feel of the outside aspect minus the pesky bugs. There is one lofted bedroom and a convertible bed in the living room. This is the perfect cozy escape from the stresses of life.
This cabin is adjacent to 40 acres of federal land and no other cabins are visible on the property giving you complete privacy. This is the perfect escape for the true northern Minnesota experience!

The cabin was quaint, clean, and comfortable, and the large screen porch was our favorite spot when we weren't on the water. We never made it to the recommended Brewed Awakenings because we couldn't pull ourselves from the porch with the cool morning breezes and lovely view of the lake. The provided coffeemaker brewed delicious coffee. We brought our kayaks and enjoyed the serene, crystal-clear lake at all times of the day. We couldn't believe how quiet the lake was. The dog preferred to go for rides in the rowboat to swim and "fish" across the lake at the sandy swimming area near the public boat landing. We also brought our bikes and enjoyed a vigorous ride on the Mesabi Trail, and several hikes in the Suomi Hills and along the winding road to the cabin. Listing description and photos were accurate, except the porch is much larger than the picture shows. This cabin is a little jewel in the wilderness!Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This cabin was a perfect little cabin in the woods! The screened porch was the BEST thing about it and our little dog liked it too. The lake was unbelievably clear and there was no weeds by our dock! If you enjoy fishing bring your fishing things! The locals told us there are very large lake trout in this lake. My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a quiet little place nestled in the woods of Minnesota! Be cautious walking from the cabin to the lake after it rains, the mulch can be a little slippery! Most ammenities are there that you would need. The scenery was very beautiful, we loved watching the sunsets from the screen porch and the loons on the lake from the dock. As a former reviewer said, if you go to Grand Rapids, eat at Brewed Awakening! Especially if you like organic food or are a vegetarian! The owners were very nice and easy to work with! We hope to go back again sometime!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Small but very comfortable. Everything you need is there. Quiet and very very private. We loved it and will be back. The screened in porch was incredible and we loved swimming in the crystal clear lake. We were well taken care of and would recommend this cabin to anyone who wants a quiet private place to stay. If you go to town you have to eat at brewed awakening.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My husband and I wanted to get away to a remote spot where we could decompress and relax. Well, I stumbled across this cabin online and couldn't really tell if it was nice enough but something kept sending me back to look at the pics. I told him that I have a feeling this might be the place so we agreed to go. We arrived and to our surprise this little cabin is the cutest most lovely little spot we could have hoped for! The porch is amazing and the scenery is unbeatable!! There is a small row boat and snorkle gear for fun or you can relax by the fire outside the cabin. I would recommend this to a small family or couple who wants to get away (you are out pretty far in the woods) and who wants to have fun in the water and enjoy the outdoors! (Bring some extra towels, don't forget a bar of soap, and a larger frying pan would have been nice to have.) Overall we give this spot a big fat 10! We hope to return!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We truly appreciate the kind words. For future or past renters, we would like you to know we have added some more kitchen necessities (including a larger frying pan) and we plan to leave out more towels & soap!
