A fantastic beach cottage in central Santa Cruz. My family was very comfortable staying in this cozy cottage that had all the amenities. It is within walking distance to the beach, cafes and harbor. Short drive to downtown and the boardwalk. This is a great base for exploring Santa Cruz and the Monterey Bay area. Don't forget to take an outdoor shower for the full SC experience : )Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

What a wonderful bungalow! Excellently appointed with anything and everything for your "home away from home." Exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Fully stocked kitchen, quality linens, books, games and Wi-Fi! Just bring your clothes and food, everything else provided. Usually pet-friendly accommodations are not this nice-my small dogs had a great time enjoying the yard, we enjoyed the deck!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was one of the most enjoyable VRBOs that we have ever stayed at. Took two 18-year-old girls, the dog and myself for a graduation getaway. House would have been just as comfortable with my husband along. House is on a super quiet cul-de-sac, and the gated yard puts you in a private paradise. Don't let a map of the area scare you off from reserving this. It shows railroad tracks right behind the house but the train doesn't run there, so train noise was NOT an issue. (I almost decided not to rent this house because of the map, but thankfully decided to research a bit more before I made my final decision.) The street to get to the house is very narrow but once we pulled up and opened the gate, we found a vacation gem that we will return to. It's a genuinely safe neighborhood in a very convenient location, and we enjoyed every minute we were there. Upon arrival, the home was spotless! It is perfectly appointed and well stocked ... not too kitschy or cluttered, but not too stark either. For you foodies, we didn't want for anything in the kitchen area ... everything was there, including measuring cups. A lot of staples were included in the cabinet: tea, coffee, creamer, spices, even olive oil. All the pans and dishes were spotlessly clean ... no fear about using someone else's halfway washed dishes here. Tea towels were so clean I was afraid to use them! The beds in this place were like climbing into squishy soft marshmallow clouds .... over and over we commented about how cozy the beds were. The bedroom with bunk beds, while not overly spacious, was still more than adequate for the amount of time the girls spent in there. The bottom bunk is actually an oversized bunkbed. The master bedroom was quite comfortable, bright and spacious with private bathroom. Full size washer/dryer are in the closet in the master bathroom. The house has ceiling fans for summer days. Towels in the bathrooms were huge ... not skimpy or scratchy. Plenty of beach towels too. Entertainment options were plentiful: cards, games, books, DVDs, IPOD stations, beach toys and beach items, including a small ice chest. There was even sidewalk chalk in one of the drawers! We were there on a very cool wet weekend so we did use the indoor fireplace but never made it to the outside fireplace at night. The beach is a very short stroll away. Kim and her sister have done an admirable job on this place. I would highly recommend it, and I've stayed in plenty of VRBOs as a comparison.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

From the first contact with Kim, I knew that this was the right place for us to gather for a family Christmas get-together. I hauled all kinds of kitchen stuff with me, not knowing that Kim and Pam have stocked the kitchen with all of the required utencils, pots, pans etc.... Honestly, there was nothing that we needed, in order to create great food for the four of us, plus two visitors who joined us for dinner. The cottage was comfortable, nicely decorated, clean and very tasteful. Although we spent lots of time in and around Santa Cruz, it felt like coming "home" when we returned to our cottage. We felt so totally welcome, and comfortable. It is clear that Kim and Pam know how to do things right! We would love to return during the summer. We want to thank you for making it possible for us to feel so at home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Charming best describes this cottage. It was clean and well stocked with all the essentials. The outside was well maintained and lovely when the sun was shining. The two bathrooms were an asset with four of us. We ate in most of the time. The kitchen was more than adequate. The house being on a dead end made it a quiet place. The owners were friendly and sincerely helpful. Even the neighbors made us feel welcome. I would highly recommend this place to friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway.

This is a quintessential cottage with tasteful and comfortable furnishings! The yard is very private and sunny. Everything is well thought out with exra comforts... They provided a helpful guest book for local information regarding shopping, restaurants and entertainment which helped structure our vacation. You can walk to coffee, beach and several restaurants. Exceeded our expectations!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Honestly, this cottage is the reason to visit Santa Cruz, not the other way around. My sister and I rented this for our annual Sister's Weekend, and I have to say it's probably going to be our new hitching post for our annual event. This home is IDEAL for either a sisters/girls/or small family getaway. The decor was amazing! You could tell a loving touch went into every detail and I instantly fell in love with the colors and ambiance. The front yard was great for afternoon wine and appertizers, while the outside fireplace was quite a treat for a smores dessert. (There was a welcome gift of smores upon arrival! Thank you!!!) They even stacked the wood for you in both fireplaces! Just light and enjoy. Everything was perfect and homey and I honestly won't bother with looking for a different place to stay in Santa Cruz. When we weren't basking in the comfort of the home, we drove over to the Boardwalk and played. We also discovered an amazing breakfast place, walking distance (right around the corner) from the house, called Harbor Cafe. The long wait for a table WILL be worth it, not to mention the reasonably priced coffees/mimosas/Bloody Mary's while you wait. All in all, I can't wait to go back because this home truly was worth the vacation in and of itself. Even if I never got out of the house, I would still go back to Santa Cruz just for this gem! Kim and Pam are the MOST wonderful owners, too! Always prompt, always courteous, and just plumb nice and considerate. I can only wish other property owners were this pleasant. Thank you so much Kim and Pam! I can't wait to come back!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and I stayed at this property in October and had the best time. When we arrived we noticed how clean and homey everything was. We felt as if we were visiting a good friend, the place really felt like home. We had every convenience we could think of. The Art work was great and really fit the beach house, from the pillows on the sofa to the coffee table books, and even the cook books, we actually used one for our BBQ on Saturday night. We enjoyed watching the SF Giants win the World Series with our family and a couple of friends who now want to stay at this at this cottage for their next trip to Santa Cruz. Both our kids and our puppies had a great time. The home owner was awesome to deal with and helped me through the process since this was our first time using VRBO, but it definitely will not be our last!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
