  Call My Bluff was the perfect stay for my husband and myself. We were celebrating 27 years of marriage and wanted to just get away from all the hustle/bustle and stress. There is no doubt that we found it here. The cottage is so quaint and the view of the river just topped the place off. We have already recommended this place to everyone back home and our daughter and her husband have already planned their trip to stay in November for their 6 yr anny. We enjoyed going into Oriental, ate lunch there, only about a 15 min drive. We made a couple of trips into New Bern where we found several great places to eat and did a little site seeing, only about a 30 min drive. Our favorite part of the trip was just hanging back at the cottage where we left the doors open and enjoyed the wonderful view and breeze off of the river. There are not enough words to say about this place and we have no doubt that we will be returning again and again. There is a larger house also located on the property that we are hoping to stay in with our family in the near future. Last but not least, you will not find a nicer owner to deal with on a rental. Everything went very smooth and she was extremely helpful. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven on earth with us!!! Can't wait until our next stay.

  I told my husband I wanted us to spend Memorial Day weekend where it was peaceful and quiet. "Call My Bluff" was perfect for us! I felt like we "went back in time" to a much simpler life. We had everything we needed or wanted. I enjoyed cooking in the well organized kitchen that had everything imaginable you could need. We are looking forward to taking our family to the bigger cottage next door in just a few days. Thanks so much for sharing a little heaven on earth with us!

  Our stay at the cottage was amazing! Anyone looking to get away and unwind, this is the place to go. It's private, quite, nicely decorated, has a great location and relaxing outdoor space. We spent time on the dock, grilling and exploring near by New Bern. The owner was quick to communicate and answer any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again.

  I stayed mid-week during July 4th week. The owner was very responsive and kept in contact to make sure all was in order. Cottage was fully stocked and very neat and clean. The decor was very appealing. The view of the Neuse River from rear porch was just heavenly and the breeze from the ocean so pleasant. I opened the rear and front doors and allowed that tropical feel to flow from front to rear of the cottage. My morning walk in the neighborhood was so pleasant and everyone was so friendly. The Ferry is very close and I walked over first morning and picked up a schedule. No wait at all taking the Ferry over to Beaufort/Morehead area. The sailing/boating town of Oriental was just ten miles away and was so beautiful.

  Owner response: This is precisely the spirit in which I had hoped my renters would perceive this cottage. Featuring a river breeze and an perfect view of the 2 1/2 mile wide Neuse River, this retreat is cherry. It was formerly a fish camp. You can see the spot where the pot belly stove stood as it served to warm the fishermen in the colder months. Thank you for sharing your appreciation for this cottage.....Call My Bluff.
