Imgoin on a Joyfull Adventure-the Ultimate 'Boat & Breakfast'.
- Minimum stay:1 night
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
Joyfull Adventures - the name says it all. I will provide you with a trip customized to your expectations. The boat is warm and cozy even in the winter months.
You may want to cruise locally in Lake Union or go through Portage Bay into Lake Washington. You'll see the University of Washington and many of the houseboats that were made popular in the movie 'Sleepless in Seattle'.
The views of Mt. Rainier to the south or Mt. Baker to the north are spectacular. If ocean cruising is your passion, we can pass through the Ballard Locks, an adventure in itself, out into the Puget Sound. From there we can cruise south and explore Seattle's waterfront or travel to one of the nearby islands. If you want to cruise up to the San Juan Islands this can be booked and would need to be a 1-2 week trip. As there are many variables some pricing will need to be discussed when you call. I do liveaboard so am present, very informative, will be the captain on boat outings. I have one friendly cat, Alex.
Keywords: Boat, liveaboard, fabulous views of Seattle and the space needle. It is NOT cold on this boat in the winter. It is warm and cozy.

My wife and I had a great time visiting Seattle for a week on Joy's houseboat. She is warm, gracious, friendly and accommodating as one could wish. The slide off the back of the boat was a big hit, as was relaxing in the spa, touring lake union and seeing all the floating homes. You can watch the sea planes of Kenmore air take off and land and see the beautiful Seattle skyline and the shoreline of Capital Hill across the lake. A very secure location and you can walk to downtown, or the space needle. Parking is easy for your rental car. Highly recommended. A very different way to stay in Seattle than a traditional B and B or hotel.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

From my first contact, Joy was pleasant, helpful, shared fun ideas for our stay, and welcomed us to a floating adventure. For my son, who graduated from Bastyr, Joy's houseboat provided a fun time with family and friends, many of whom had lived in Seattle for years and never seen it from the water. If you have never slept on a floating vessel, you are in for a treat. Parking was free and convenient to down town. Joy could not have been more helpful in making our stay totally awesome and a time to remember for all. Enjoy your Joyfull Adventure.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

I found the best thing to do with an unexpected day in Seattle was to repeat my first experience on Captain Joy's fabulous boat. This second cruise was again, absoloutely the best time I have ever had in Seattle. It just can't be topped. It is fun, it is interesting, it is relaxing, and above all, entertaining. No winter doldrums on this excursion! Warm and cozy, seeing sights I had missed the first time around the lake. I can't wait to take my third cruise, next time I am in Seattle, I wouldn't miss it! For two hours or overnight or more, it is the best deal around.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Hello Ruth, Hey I just checked out my VRBO and read your post. Wow, thank you so much. You are so fun to get together with. I just meet with Ann and Rex and talked about all that she has been doing. She is great and energetic. Thanks for the post and look forward to seeing you all again.

This is a beautiful home moored along the dock at the West Side of Lake Union with a view of the Space Needle. Capt Joy has a wonderful personality and entertained us while touring along the lake to view downtown and the Space Needle before taking us to the Seattle houseboat neighborhoods and Gas Works Park. We eventually ended up going for dinner at Ivars. Her expertise was obvious in driving and docking the houseboat and you can not get a better waterfront view of Lake Union then being on the upper deck of "Imgoin" cruising. The boat was well kept, clean and warm. (The fireplace was especially nice in the living room). We will return for another cruise. Excellent and a great value. Thank You !!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

My husband and I have booked Joy Nelson's houseboat on three different occasions, ranging from a small group of five to a full blown party of 20. Each time was a wonderful experience, due in great part to Captain Nelson. Joy is a delightful hostess who keeps her boat "ship shape" to the last detail. With plenty of room, guests can be up top in the hot tub taking in the scenery of the Seattle skyline and Lake Union or enjoy themselves below in the charming living area and outside deck. Captain Nelson knows how to entertain the crowd with her stories and infectious laughter. Her impressive knowledge of boats, planes and people comes from her background as a boat pilot, commercial airline pilot, certified scuba diver and degree as a registered nurse. For a wonderful adventure, whether it be one night or a week tour, you can not go wrong booking a trip on Captain Nelson's houseboat! (Recommended for young and old alike, large and small groups)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I have stayed on Joy's houseboat on several occasions and have always had a wonderful time. During last year's Seafair, we watched the Blue Angles from her garden deck or sitting in the hot tub drinking mojitos. It doesn't get any better!!!!!!!!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Why the Owner Chose Lake Union:
I bought this unique stable vessel to meet and share with others. It is a great way and super relaxing way to get out on the water. Seattle is such a beautiful city to live in let alone on a boat with the views of the downtown and the space needle.
The Unique Benefits at this Bed And Breakfast:
One of the unique benefits is the fabulous views of the downtown day or at night. When the sun sets on the buildings of the downtown or capital hill the windows light up and glow shades of yellows and reds. It is awesome to enjoy the hot tub day or night and than jumping from the boat or going down the slide right at the dock. Come on in, the water is great. I am super close to entertainment, the city, on the bus line and an abundance of places to eat out at.
