Getting ready to leave in a few days, I can only say that the last 2 and 1/2 months have been great. The "Guest House" has been a really nice sanctuary for a "get away" from the summer heat of Arizona. We have enjoyed it so much that we have reserved it for the same period next year. Mitzi and her family have certainly made us feel "at home" along with our small dog, Gigi. The interior of the home makes one feel immediately welcome with decor that is hard to describe and very unique but , at the same time comfortable. This is certainly a place we can recommend for a few days or weeks stay. Thank you Mitzi for providing us with a "home away from home".Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks, Frank and Jean. You have certainly been great guests.

The GUEST HOUSE is the most comfortable and well appointed home away from home for a GET AWAY for a week or a month or a weekend. Have stayed for a week for three years now in November. WONDERFUL location next to University, grocery store 3 blocks away, resturants 3 to 5 blocks away, and anything you need MITZI can help arrange or provide contact information to you. WONDERFUL setting and neighborhood. Thank you MITZI and David. Owner response: Thanks Mike. You made my day.

Winter, unless you're in a ski resort, can make most places look dismal. That said, the yard and rear deck are awesome and we will go back to stay another time when we can utilize the lovely outdoors. Location was great! We road bikes or walked everywhere around Silver City. The kitchen is well equipped.. we ate most meals in and liked the kitchen / dining area best. We are both very scent sensitive and found the linens to be over powering with fragrance. That was the only downside of our stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1965
About the owner: I am a grandmother, a widow who lives next door and I am a lifetime resident of Silver City. My son David shares my home. He is a business man who finds time to keep the yards beautifully groomed. I belong to several luncheon groups, am involved with my church and attend most of the cultural offerings in Silver City. My son and I have 2 cats and 3 dogs. Their yard is separated from the guest house yard. That doesn't always work with the cats, but usually does with the dogs. The miniature poodle likes to escape when he can.
Why the Owner Chose Silver City:
This cottage was originally purchased as a long term rental. In 1995 my late husband and I completely renovated it, and decided to offer it short term. It was the best decision we ever made. I have met interesting people from all over the world.
