About this property

Also known as 'Southern Comfort' this is a Charleston style home located in the Charlestowne Grant neighborhood within the gated community of Litchfield by the Sea, one row of homes from the ocean.

Home has two large open decks and great views of the ocean.
First floor has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and utility room. Second floor has kitchen, living room, dining room, one bedroom, and one bathroom. There are two dining tables; there are two sitting areas in the living room, including a large TV-viewing area.

4 full bathrooms with whirlpool in master bathroom. 47' flat panel TV and DVD player in living room, cable TV's in 3 bedrooms, free high-speed wireless internet, local telephone service.

The BEACH is very close. It's a 1-minute walk down a path behind the house past the pool and over the dunes - no streets to cross! You're there, plant your beach chair!

The POOL is large and beautiful - can be seen in two of the photos. The pool is adjacent to the house, you can easily see & call to family members at the pool from either of the decks of the house. The pool is the community pool of Charlestowne Grant community association within Litchfield by the Sea - about 50 houses, mostly retired people who don't use the pool. The pool is large with a great shallow area for kids.

Make wonderful family vacation memories with sandcastles on the beach or relaxing by the pool.

Family Beach Vacation

The location of this property is great. Close to the beach and the pool. Since it is by the pool, sitting on the deck is enjoyable with lovely view. There is plenty of room for everyone.

Beach 2023

Location was great. Parking a bit tight but it worked. Need to spray for a few bugs/ ants Kids loved the pool and easy walk to beach Nice house !

Great location

The house had many great things— the large room upstairs had two seating areas which made it wonderful for kids and adults… the closeness to the pool and beach were excellent…. The outdoor shower was convenient. The reason for the low stars was the kitchen, mattresses and dryer. The kitchen is in very much in need of updating. The appliances seem to be very old. The refrigerator is too small for a large family… the dishwasher stopped working the day before we left….the stove is ancient and the oven was very slow at heating. Fortunately there was a working microwave. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the ceiling fan in one of the bed rooms made a clicking noise while running. The dryer was very slow at drying. The rental price for this home is extremely high for the condition of the house.

24 Charlestown Grant

Glad to be able to gather with family to reset. Would love to see the properties that have updated and comfortable facilities, kitchen, beds, furniture. Unable to use one of the showers due to a leak issue but owner was quick to offer refund to offset the rent. WiFi was unusable and I was thankfully able to use my own hotspot as I did need to bring some work with me. Unfortunately, I was unwilling to spend too much time on the phone with a service provider for which I would not have seen a benefit until at least the end of my week stay. Owner is aware. Side note, please make pest control a priority; multiple insect-like bugs noted throughout the house and in beds.

Sue and I have worked in telecommunications most of our careers. We live in New Jersey and enjoy sailing, music, and spending time with good friends.

Why they chose this property

We started vacationing in the Myrtle Beach/Pawleys Island area 30 years ago when Sue's parents retired there. Our girls grew up with wonderful experiences in the pool, at the beach, and at the amusements in Myrtle Beach. We love it there!

What makes this property unique

The 5 bedrooms make lots of space for family gatherings with grandparents, kids, and grandkids. You're very close to the beach and a large pool, so you have your choice every day, every hour.
