  We spent a few days at Beach Music Cottage at Christmas Time! It was so peaceful! We watched the sunrise from the dining area and deck and even took photos of the dolphins from there. It was so nice to be just steps to the beach for walking. The open floor plan was so comfortable and all the windows and sliders made you feel like you outside while enjoying the warmth of the house. I would totally recommend these beach accommodations!

  The upper living quarters are wonderful - spacious and great view. Well equipped kitched and clean. Well maintained & we loved the deck furniture. Owner helpful although we never figured out how to connect to the internet and watch TV at the same time. Enjoyed eating at the Tail of the Whale restaurant. Overall a wonderful vacation!

  This was our second stay at the house and we just love it. The first time we came with friends and filled most of the rooms; this time just the three of us. Both times we were very comfortable. The house has every comfort and convenience (the outdoor shower is the best!) we needed and is just a sand dune away from the beautiful beach. The kitchen is quite well-stocked and the wraparound deck is just awesome. We'll definitely be coming back :.)

  Three generations of our family spent a relaxing two week holiday at this beach house. We spent lots of time enjoying the views on the new deck and deck furniture. The house was as described and the location was perfect for our family-quiet and close to the beach. The kitchen was well supplied for cooking. The owner responded quickly to all emailed questions prior to our vacation. We kept busy swimming, sea kayaking, boogie boarding, walking the beach, and cooking local seafood. Watching the sea turtles hatch one evening was a highlight. We would recommend this property to other visitors to the outer banks.

  This cottage was simply amazing. It went beyone our expectations. The cottage was very clean and pleasing. The layout was perfect and the decorating made our beach experience the most relaxing we have had in the past several years. The owner of the cottage was very helpful in answering my questions and we received answers promptly. I not only would recommend this property to all my friends and relatives but this cottage would be first on my list if returning to the OBX for another vacation.

  We were very disappointed with the condition of this property from the minute we stepped inside. The carpets were stained and filthy (only the upstairs carpet had been replaced, as stated by the owner). The updated painting was poorly done throughout the house and flaked off when touched. The bedrooms, especially the bunk room, were much smaller than appeared in the photos. There were no screens on any of the windows. You could not open the windows to experience the ocean breeze or waves crashing – Isn’t this why you stay at the beach? The mosquitoes were so bad that the city sprays at night on a schedule to try to knock them down. If you left a door or a window open for even a short time, you would pay the price with mosquito bites. The deck is splintered and rotting in places. It was unsafe to walk on the deck without shoes. The only furniture out there was a wooden two seat Adirondack chair with footstool which had exposed rusty nails, a wooden picnic table with splintered and broken seats and 8 rusty metal chairs with no cushions. No loungers, no side tables, no cushions. Nothing. The comforters were worn and faded and appeared to have not been washed recently. The upstairs living space had fingerprints and dog smear on the sliders, dog food in the couch, and various other items found throughout the week (shoe, bracelet, makeup case, etc) even though the previous renter must have paid the mandatory cleaning fee and pet fee. At a minimum, there should be at least one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and one roll of paper towels in the kitchen. There was nothing. I called the owner twice on Saturday, left messages, again on Sunday, left a message, and finally reached her on Monday where I was told she had “a full voice mail so I deleted them all.” I explained the condition of the property and how disappointed I was in the overall condition. She did not offer an apology, but took a list of what was wrong and stated that she appreciated my feedback. There was no offer of compensation or credit. She explained that there were no screens on the sliders as they “were too expensive to replace” – really? Her manager showed up on Tuesday (to meet the cable guy) and offered to make it right. By this time, other than the porch furniture, we had repaired or made do with what was there. (Including the exterior entry stair light was broken in the socket, the hall stair light was out, etc). Overall, it is clear that the owner is not nearby.

  We loved our stay at Beach Music. It was perfectly located on a cul-de-sac, one house from the beach but with an unobstructed view of the beautiful atlantic ocean. The open floor plan and elevated living area with windows all around was wonderful. Even though the weather was not perfect for lounging on the beach we could enjoy the beautiful view from the comfort of the living room and wrap around deck. We watched a flock of migrating birds(ducks of some sort) that took about 3 hours to pass by...amazing! We also saw many dolphin in the ocean on our morning walks. The house has been freshly painted and has new carpet on the upper level. We enjoyed seeing some of the sights in the area such as the Aquarium, Jeanette's pier and a short hop over the bridge to historic Manteo for cute shops and restaurants. Although many restaurants were closed for the off season (it seems most everything opens up later in march) we did find some good "local's places" to eat, Blue Moon Cafe was our favorite. Our mini vacation was a nice off-season beach break and the best part was being able to take our little dog with us! Christie, the owner was very helpful and promptly replied to all of our inquiries...we hope to be back in the future!
