Shelter Cove is a tiny seaside town on California’s stunning “Lost Coast”. Fish, boat, surf, or just relax on one of Northern California's most beautiful hidden beaches just above Sinkyone State Park. With a nearby airstrip and boat launch, Shelter Cove is the perfect getaway for the pilot or fisherman. Quiet, private, secluded; our little house has beautiful views of the ocean and the mountains from the comfortable deck or the large picture windows. This is a lovely vacation home with an ocean view, walking distance to shelter cove tide pool. It has everything that we needed for our weekend get away.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Our home is cozy and comfortable in a beautiful setting. Our goal is for our guests to relax and have a true getaway. Shelter Cove is the perfect place for that!

I really liked our stay. The house was very nice and I loved the layout. The guys wished there was a TV so they could watch the Giants game. The girls were just fine with no TV. :) Neighbors were very friendly and the view was nice. With that said, I would not stay here again only because the beds where soooo uncomfortable. Both couples had hard time sleeping.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: The basement offers a great avenue for watching movies on a big screen with surround sound and at eye level for a great experience with all the 3D movies and gaming. The open floor plan and ocean view lends itself to family games or dining on the deck. The hardest thing as an owner picking furniture is to find the beds that suit everyone. Many people have bad backs and want firm mattresses others want soft and cozy. I have two vacation rentals and have tried both and hear comments both ways so I added a mattress topper to one of the beds.

The home in Shelter Cove was amazing and is perfect for two couples or a small family. The owner was exceptionally easy to work with making our stay all the more enjoyable!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Our house is a cozy size for small groups. The open floor plan and ocean view from most of the house make it comfortable and pretty! A great place to relax after fishing, tidepooling or hiking!

We had such a wonderful time. Thank you so much. Your home is comfortable and well equipped with a great floor plan. Very reasonably priced. We will be back for sure!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

SHORT TERM RENTAL AGREEMENT This Short Term Rental Agreement is made by and between Emerald Isle, LLC. and Guest in acknowledgment of this Agreement. For good and valuable consideration, the sufficiency of which is acknowledged, the parties hereby agree as follows: 1. Property. The property is located at: 436 Seafoam, Shelter Cove, CA The property is furnished and includes; microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, washer, dryer, towels, BBQ, dishwasher, fridge, stove, Ipod dock, and dishes. This list is not a complete list of inventory but provided for your information.) 2. Maximum Occupancy: The maximum number of guests is limited to 4 persons. 3. Term of the Lease. The lease begins at 4PM_on requested dates_ and ends at 11a.m. on day of check out. 4. Minimum Stay: This property requires a 2 night minimum stay. Longer minimum stays may be required during holiday periods. 5. No subletting. Only Emerald Isle agents; Thomas and/or Mary Bass may initiate a lease for the property. 7. Rental Rules: Guest agrees to abide by the Rental Rules attached as Exhibit A at all times while at the property and shall cause all members of the rental party and anyone else Guest permits on the property to abide by the following rules at all times while at the property. 8. Access: Guest shall allow Homeowner access to the property for purposes of repair and inspection. Homeowner shall exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner. 9. Rental Rate and Fees a. Deposit: There is a security deposit of $165.00, which is fully refundable as long as there is no damage to the property. VRBO will automatically split your rental fee into 2 or 3 payments ( including security deposit ) depending on your arrival date. Booking is not confirmed until the first payment has been received. The security deposit shall be refunded within 5 days of the checkout date provided no deductions are made due to: i. damage to the property or furnishings; ii. dirt or other mess requiring excessive cleaning; or iii. any other cost incurred by Homeowner due to Guest’s stay. If the premises appear dirty or damaged upon Check-in, Guest shall inform Homeowner immediately. $165 per night $80 Cleaning fee c. Cancellation Policy: If Guest wishes to cancel his/her reservation, the deposit will be refunded as follows: 80% if cancelled 60 days prior to the Check-in Date 50% if cancelled less than 60 days prior to the Check-in Date 10. Insurance: We encourage all renters to purchase traveler insurance. ________________________________________________________________________ 11. Keep the property and all furnishings in good order 5. Only use appliances for their intended uses 6. Pets are not allowed 7. Parking: PARKING – Parking is limited to 2 vehicle(s). Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner. 8. Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken off the premises. The fireplace is an electric heater. There is an on/off button on the back. . Follow all posted instructions for safe use. 9. Water and Septic: The property is on a well and septic systems. The mineral content in the water is high. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged damages of up to the actual repair cost. 10. No refunds will be given for storms/ fires or road conditions. Mountain roads can be curvy and steep. We do not refund due to road conditions. About the owner: Michael & Mary Bass own and operate San Joaquin Drug in the central valley. They live near Yosemite National Park and travel to Shelter Cove at every opportunity. Their youngest of 3 daughters goes off to college in 2011, so they will be competing with you for vacation rentals for the next few decades!
Why the Owner Chose Shelter Cove:
Mike Bass is an avid golfer, fisherman and outdoorsman so sheltercove calls out to him all year long. Mary and the girls love tidepooling along the beach. Erin is a voracious reader, but all the Basses love peace & quiet and a thorough escape. Shelter Cove is their perfect getaway location, so it made sense to build a house. And since they can't be on vacation themselves 24/7, it makes sense to rent it to you!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our family and friends discovered Shelter Cove some years ago when searching for a way to decompress. Running the pharmacy and a real estate company while raising three daughters tends to raise the shoulders up to ear level. Shelter Cove has nothing but beach, golf, fishing, tidepooling, watching the scenery.... We love it!
