Enjoy this fabulous very private, Russian River get-away with stunning views of the Russian River and Bohemian Grove Redwoods. This relaxing one bedroom cabin sleeps four and is right on the river. Eat breakfast on the deck while you watch the kayakers roll by on the river. Join them later in kayaks available for your enjoyment. Kayak to Monte Rio to buy lunch on the beach or head in the other direction with your picnic lunch and stop at the beautiful and secluded beach at Paterson Point. Our house is at the entrance to historic Ville Grande. If you choose, there are four bikes available to ride through Ville Grande and Monte Rio.
You won’t want to leave your stunning get-away but don't miss all the area has to offer! Travel 10 minutes to Jenner where the Russian River empties into the Pacific Ocean to enjoy world-class, breath-taking vistas and visit the nesting grounds of California's harbor seals at Jenner. Check the tides for outstanding tide pooling, and/or watch the whales frolic off shore from Bodega Head, Identify some or all of those beautiful birds! Catch the sunset from the beach or from the restaurant that overlooks the mouth of the Russian River.
Golf at Northwood Course (5 mins away), an Alister MacKenzie design in one of the most uniquely striking settings in golf, and you can walk it for $20 in prime time on weekdays.
Cares and stresses evaporate as you absorb the stunning natural beauty that this area so generously shares. Wine connoisseurs will discover new delights, which will soon become old favorites. Even tea-totalers will enjoy the artistry of the grounds and gardens of the many local wineries. Enjoy world class shopping in Healdsburg (40 minutes). There are abundant restaurants for every palate and budget. Ride your bikes to the Village Inn or take your pick of the many fine restaurants in the area.

My husband and I spent two wonderful nights at this perfect, cozy house on the Russian River. If you are looking for a special place to spend a few days, then this would be a great choice. It has everything we look for when we travel: comfortable king size bed, cable tv (cooking shows), electric stove (my husband doesn't like gas ones), and an amazing view! The deck has an awesome view of the river with a choice of sitting areas. It's also quite private with the added partitions. The owner is extremely easy to work with too. If you enjoy golfing, Northwoods Golf Course is about a three minute drive. Our favorite wineries in Healdsburg are only about a scenic half hour drive away. We highly recommend this vacation rental! We absolutely loved it and are already planning another trip here in July.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This is a charming, clean, modest and comfortable home right on the river. We stayed here for our anniversary and are thinking of doing it again. We debated whether to post a review because we don't want the secret to get out, but we did love it and the owners deserve the praise. The bed was comfy, the area is quiet (except for some traffic, which is not an issue), and the location is fabulous. The owners thought of little things like stocking spices, condiments and some staples in the cupboard. When we were able to tear ourselves away from the river, fabulous wine tasting, bike riding and hiking were all nearby. Highly recommended!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This was one of our best vacations. The property was in a very scenic area of the Russian River. We kayaked up and down the river, hiked and biked. For excitement we went to Heildsburg for great food and shopping. We also did some whale watching at the bay. Another night we drove to a beautiful restaurant overlooking the ocean. Some nights we just had dinner on the huge deck overlooking the river and enjoyed the awesome views. Owners were extremely helpful in answering any questions.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About: We are both educators. I also volunteer as a docent for the Sonoma County Park and Recreation Department. I speak to visitors, local school children and adults about migrating and local whales, tide pools and abundant wild life in the area. We would like visitors to enjoy our cottage as we have. The river has a remarkable calming effect.
