This apartment is a true rarity within Paris, it took us three years to find it then a year to renovate it and decorate it. There are no hotels anywhere in Paris which could offer you the same river views, plus a sun drenched terrace. This is truly an exceptional apartment and an opportunity to live a real Parisian dream!
We finished this apartment then had to move to London, this was our home for only a few months. We are leaving everything as is and want like minded people to rent and take care of it as they would their own home. We have a full time concierge, who will help with check you in and out and can be contacted at any time if you need assistance throughout your stay.
Ile Saint Louis is the most central location in Paris as well as being one of the most beautiful. Being on the island is a luxury within itself and staying in this apartment will add to the pure magic of it all! Ile Saint Louis is one of the most prettiest and safest areas in Paris, and after living in Paris for over 7 would never ever consider living anywhere else!
Ile saint Louis is known for its specialty boutiques and picturesque streets plus location wise everything is on your door step, starting with Notre Dame, a 4 minute walk, the famous Marais area an 8 minute walk, the Louvre a gorgeous 20 minute stroll plus Musee D’Orsay, Pompidou Centre and Palais Royal, place des Vosges, Jardin des Tuileries, Concorde and Champs Elysées are just close by on foot. On the other side of Ile Saint Louis you have the Latin Quarter, Jardins du Luxembourg, Saint-Germain and le Jardin des Plantes.
The apartment is on the 5th and 6th floor with elevator access of a 17th Century building. The other residents are French and of high standing and this is one of 5 apartments in the building. It is bathed in sunlight all day, sun streams in over the balcony (north) all morning then by early afternoon the sun in coming through the French doors and bay window onto the terrace.
The entrance to the apartment has sun streaming in early morning, there is a built in cupboard for hiding jackets and umbrellas, to the left under the stairs which lead to the upstairs living area there is the toilet with a hand basin and to the right is the bedroom.
The bedroom is therefore on the entrance level with the toilet, it has original windows and a sky light which sun pours though and an opaque blind to shut it out if desired, it is truly so light and airy. It has large built in wardrobes, a brand new large double bed 160cm x 200cm with a new mattress and a chest of drawers. There is plenty of lighting and reading lights, plus a large mirror. All linen is of the upmost quality.
Take the stairs to the first level and you arrive at the open plan 35sq2 meter living and entertaining area. The ceilings are high and have beautiful original polished beams, its so spacious and light even on a grey day! There is a balcony which receives the morning sun and over looks the Seine, perfect for a quick coffee before exploring the city! Then there is a 5 meter sq2 terrace with table and chairs which is just pure heaven. The 18th century French doors open directly onto this and the sun drenches this from 2pm until 7pm.
The view from the apartment balcony is simply breathtaking, very very hard to come by. You are in the most stunning city in the world, 6 floors up overlooking the most beautiful river embroidered with bridges and the world’s most historical monuments everywhere you look! This view of Paris is particulary rare to come by unless you own a river front apartment 6 floors up on this particular street, interestingly there are no hotels in Paris which have river views so this apartment is a real find! You can see from the Champs de Elysees all the way to Bastille plus in-between, Sacred Coeur, the Louvre, Hotel de Ville Pompidou center, Bastille.
The view from the terrace is a typical French rooftop view. Red terracotta tiles and chimneys, and the elites rooftop terraces , plus you can see the Pantheon and the Montparnasse tower. No one looks onto you or is beside you so you are in your own private cocoon. Perfect for a chilled glass of French champagne or ice cold rose!
The kitchen is fully equipped and state of the art with a descending oven and an ascending ventilator. There is an oven, microwave, clothes washing machine which dries and a dishwasher, two cooking elements plus a toaster and a jug, everything you need for making a three course meal. There is a central bar which is great for eating meals, there are four stools and two hanging lights. Meals can be prepared and eaten here, or on the terrace.
The living area has a couch and two confortable armchairs. There is a coffee table plus a large screen television with international channels such as CNN and BBC.
The bathroom or washroom has Italian floor and wall tiles and a window which morning sun streams through. It’s a fantastic sensation have a shower in the sun! Although small it is perfectly functional and bright and pristine.
This is just a spectacular apartment and will only enhance your stay in Paris. Everyone who enters has to catch their breath as it is very rare to find this type of apartment, with a lift on Il Saint Louis!
This is such a great opportunity to make your stay in Paris truly unforgettable.
We have a car service we can offer too. We have been using Chan and his services ourselves for years, he has a lovely big Mercedes with aircon. He can do pick ups and drop offs to the airport which is great as you can avoid the taxi queue plus grumpy taxi drivers! He will be there to greet you and help with luggage and speaks great English.
His fee is 100 euros one way to airport. (Taxis are normally 70 to 80 euros)
Half day for 4 hours is 150 euros
Full day is 300 euros

This charming pentouse with extraordinary views is the ultimate Parisian experience. The pictures do not accurately reflect the apartment, it is EVEN BETTER in person! Perfect place to spend a romantic holiday in the City of Lights.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My wife and I ended a month in France in this wonderful apartment on Ile St Louis overlooking the Seine. From the moment we arrived and were met by Michael (great guy), the apartment manager and took our first look, we knew we had done a very good thing. The location can't be beat - the Ile St Louis is like a small village right in the middle of Paris - bakeries, shops, restaurants all steps away. Three Metro stops are within minutes walking. But the apartment itself is the prize. The small living room balcony overlooks the Siene and a wide view of Paris to the North - the larger terrace off the Kitchen area overlooks classic Paris rooftops to the Pantheon in the distance to the South. Both views are pictures all day long. Set on two floors on the top of a building (like they all are there) hundreds of year old, the apartment has all modern conviences from the bathroom and shower room to the kitchen and all the electronics from flat screen TV to phone service free back to the US. The place was stocked up with everything one needs for basic housekeeping - even coffe. Sure the bedroon on the 5th floor is smallish and the sun filled shower room is on the 6th floor with the living room / kitchen but it all part of the fun and charm of this place. Even the modern elevator (the world's smallest) has its own charm. The most helpful owners have done a great job in making this flat something very special. When it came time to go, there was Michael to help us with luggage and the taxi. We had eight memorable days there and cannot wait to return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

I’ve never used this website or rented an apartment for a vacation ever in my life, so I was a little leery at first. That said, I cannot say enough great things about this apartment and the owners. Every positive review you’ve read on this site is absolutely true. We had such an unbelievable time during our stay. Guillaume and Penelope were such a pleasure to deal with. They gave us dinner recommendations and made reservations for us. They provided us with a handy little booklet with lists of places to visit on or near the island. They had an incredibly nice gentlemen great us at the apartment who showed us around and made us feel totally comfortable. The apartment was terrific, and the views from the balcony were off the charts. I highly recommend this place to any traveler looking for a great place to stay in fantastic location! If I’m fortunate enough to return to Paris I would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We stayed in this flat for a week in April this year (2012). The location is superb! Loved being on the Ile and exploring the little shops and not having to go out for every meal because 3 bakeries, 2 small grocery stores, fresh produce, cheese, meat, & wine shop were all close at hand. The flat was well maintained. There are beautiful views from the terraces on both sides of the living room. One side you overlook the Seine and the other the rooftops of Paris. The cooking facilities are very small and updated, but can be a bit counter-intuitive to use if you are not accustomed to European appliances (we were not). We are older folks (56 and 69) so negatives were that the flat is on 2 levels. The entry level has a small bedroom with a tiny half bath (sink and toilet). Then there is a spiral staircase that leads to the living area upstairs. The stairs were a bit difficult for us to negotiate. The shower and sink are upstairs - off the living area. So that was a bit wonky. However, overall it was a terrific experience. The owners give you a guide book that answers and all questions you could possibly have about your stay. Their agent was there to meet us when we arrived and was very helpful. There were thoughtful basics in the flat (wine, coffee, sugar, milk etc.). A wonderful experience if you are able to deal with the 2 levels.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

The apartment was a perfect Paris escape. View of the Sienne on one side and rooftope on the other. Very well lit with skylights and electric lighting. This is living right in the center of Paris -- walk to Marais or the Latin Quarter in minutes. But you don't even need to leave the island because you have everything you need right there -- grocery store, excellent restaurants, bakery, cheese store, foi grois store, clothes stores, chocolate stores, and some of the most famous ice cream shops in the world! The apartment is exactly as advertised. Well equipped and beautifully appointed. And Michael, the host, is very helpful and happily answered any questions that we had. It is split in two levels with the bedroom and toilet downstairs and then a spiral staircase up to a a beautiful living area, kitchen, two terraces, and the separate shower. The apartment is a perfect Paris escape for a couple.Highly recommended.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My wife and I stayed in this Ile St. Louis apartment for 7 nights in mid-Dec. and I can not recommend it enough. We have rented apartments in other European cities enjoying the amenities of an apartment versus a hotel. When renting a place largely sight-unseen, you know there will be quirks or things left out of the description of the place that may or may not disappoint or annoy. We honestly have only good things to say about this place. It is a charming space tucked up under the roof with numerous windows and skylights resulting in lots natural light and amazing views. There was nothing shabby or worn, and we wanted to take the bed home with us, it was so comfortable. Being that time of year we didn’t get to fully utilize the balcony at the front of the apartment and terrace at the back. But the views, alone, were well worth it. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and answered my many questions. The gentleman, Michael, who to handled our arrival and departure was the best and right on time. I wil mention that it is an apartment just for two. That’s not to say it is small. It’s not. But it is designed to make two people very comfortable. Having the lift was terrific. Best bakery on the island was 30 seconds from the front door. Metro was about a 5 minute walk, and a great coffee shop, Cafeoteque (recommended by the owner) a minute further. Very valuable to a good Paris experience is that the island is very low-key but just about everything is within a reasonable, enjoyable walking distance. If you decode to rent this place I recommend taking the stairs at least once just to get a feel for the interesting building. Bon voyageRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We spent a delightful week in the apartment in November 2011. The apartment was exactly as advertised; quiet, well located and comfortable. We had easy access to public transportation and, above all, the best views in Paris. The location on the Ile St. Louis is unique: bakeries, restaurants, cheese shops and boutiques everywhere made us feel like Parisians from the moment we arrived. We appreciated the books in the apartment and the restaurant recommendations (especially Mon Vieil Ami and Les Fous de Ile). Even though we were there in November, we were able to enjoy the fantastic views of the Seine from the front balcony and the Pantheon from the rear deck. The bed was comfortable, the linens were very nice and the apartment was light and airy. The washer/dryer took a little getting use to but once we mastered it, we were happy to have clean, fresh clothes to put on every day. The separation of the bathroom and the shower also took some getting used to; again, after a day this was not an issue and the total privacy of the apartment made it easy to transition from one floor to the other. We have been to Paris many times and have stayed on the Ile St. Louis many times -- this was the best experience we've had. If we had a trust fund we might never have left to come home; lacking that, we look forward to returning to the Ile and the apartment.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

My fiance was slightly wary when I found a Paris apartment online for our honeymoon...now, he can't stop telling me how wonderful I am for finding the perfect, romantic spot! Ile St. Louis was a great location from a convenience standpoint (the metro stop is just across the bridge) and we were wrapped in the cozy feel of the community. We spent a fair amount of time on the island itself, which I would highly recommend. Penelope and Guillame have prepared a wonderful book full of suggestions - the bakery around the corner is incredible...I'm still having brioche withdrawals! Mon Vieil Ami is on the island and not to be missed; we also loved Chez Janou in the Marais district. Penelope's "secret spot" on the island is quite nice. As far as the apartment itself - the views are pure joy. Nothing compares to taking in Paris from that balcony with a good glass of french wine. The linens were quite nice (loved the skylight in the bedroom!) and there was a large shower, a heated towel rack (nice!), well equipped modern kitchen...overall, the apartment is "chic cozy" and bright. The owners are very responsive; they genuinely care about their renters and want them to have a good visit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
