We decided to escape with friends to say farewell to 2011 and welcome the New Year. We really loved the location and the house. The views from the deck of the mountains and the canal are stunning. You can't beat finding oysters right in front of the house at low tide. There is a great fireplace in the living room, and the fireplace insert in the basement warms the house up nicely as well. The property is adjacent to a beautiful wooded state park. The beds were very comfortable, and the home is well appointed. We appreciated the ease of making arrangements with the owners. If you are considering an escape to a serene escape, we highly recommend that you check this property out.

Words will never adequately express how much we enjoyed the weekend at your cozy, charming & CLEAN cottage in Seabeck! It was spotless - fluffed & buffed - & very magical for us! We loved all of the personal touches & felt so relaxed & welcomed. Our favorite part were oysters collected on your beach & then cooked over an open fire. It was hard to leave. Thank you for everything!

I must travel all the way from Alabama, but I do it gladly to stay at this lovely quaint home on Seabeck. Everything you could possible need is at your fingertips. The view is spectacular, one morning we woke up to a double rainbow, and were mesmerized with the beauty of the gentle rising fog. It's so peaceful and comfortable, the owners have seen to every possible requirement. Take a walk on the beach, fish, crab, shop in one of the not to distant towns, sit out on the deck and enjoy your catch and a glass or two of wine. Watch the sun set or rise - your preference. Truly a lovely place and I can't wait to go again. Blessings, EB

We have decided to cut our stay short at your VRBO and leave on Thursday or Friday. My kids been sleeping on the upstairs couch (hid a bed is broken based on the note left on in the couch) and they do not want to sleep in the basement due to the smell. Also I feel like we are camping since kitchen is not very clean and we been cleaning and leaving dishes on the counters to reuse. My wife was suppose to come from Phoenix this week but I canceled her flight since she would be very upset with this situation (unhappy wife make thing even more miserable for me). I need to get a hotel at my next destination (we are heading to our next appointment much earlier which I hope that stay be a little more pleasant). We travel and stay at VRBOs and we have not encounter any big issues to date. Fact is your house is not ready, is not properly cleaned and some improvement needed (like having sleeping a proper arrangement, do something about a the smell in the basement, kitchen need cleaning and de-junked, etc.).
Owner response:As seen by the rest of the positive comments, most guests have a great stay at our place in Seabeck. We have asked several people if they noticed any strong smells downstairs and, other than a mild older house smell, they really didn't notice any. We are in the process of replacing or fixing the upstairs sleeper sofa. Other than a few small crumbs in the silverware drawer, we really didn’t see any cleanliness issues in the cabinets but have had our housekeeper do a thorough cleaning of them nonetheless. This is our summer home that we rent our when not using it so there are a some extra items (tools, cleaners, spices, cooking oils, nick knacks, etc) in the house that most people find convenient but could be viewed as excess.

The senior staff of our company took a retreat here recently and it was perfect. Aside from all the amenities one would expect from a beautiful, beach front location in a quiet setting, Mike was helpful every step of the way with detailed information and ready to answer any questions in a second. I would advice you take him up on his suggestion of grilling some oysters on an open-fire-on-the-beach grill with some butter and garlic. Made the weekend.

We (2 adults, 2 teenagers) had an absolutely wonderful 4 night stay at Seabeck Shores Aug. 09 and we're already checking our calendars to book for next summer. This is the perfect NW beach cabin: old, comfy, quirky and quiet. At night we would sit outside and listen to the critters rustling in the bushes and watching the meteor shower. We snorkeled, rowed around in the rowboat, read books, did puzzles, beachcombed, watched movies and did some serious napping. Food at Barbie's was great, as was Seabeck Pizza and sandwiches from Lone Rock Grocery. We'll be back!

Our stay at hood canal was really amazing. The cottage had everything we could use and even more. Most of all, our dog Khol enjoyed it a lot. She was able to be with us all the time. We were so comfortable that we decided not to try crabbing or looking for oysters, instead bought some at the Grocer's. I would love to bring my children here.

This was a great place to take advantage of the warm weekend. Our family had great time exploring the rocky beach and eating smores by the campfire. The views were beautiful and the house cute and comfortable. Thank you for flexibility with our last minute request for accomodations.

Mike and Kelly run a top notch rental. The house is charming and very welcoming. We conducted a weekend retreat for our company and found that there was more than enough room for all of us and that their thoughtful attention to details ensured that we had a wonderful and productive weekend. HRI highly recommends this rental as a retreat facility or just a weekend get-away with the family.
