  This home transmits a feeling of warmth when one walks through the door. It is very comfortable and spacious. The view of the ocean, beach, and rocks is awesome! Many times during our stay, one or more of our group would stand by the window, watching the waves - a very serene, calming sight. The kitchen is well stocked - and is designed for ease in food preparation. All, in all, our stay at Villa Mer was simply delightful. Thank you for a wonderful visit. We will definitely return!

  Absolutely the best whitewater view at Irish Beach. Nicely updated and everything we could ever need was there for us to use. We were at Irish Beach with our extended family who had rented other homes there. Once they came over and saw Villa Mer, then all of the dinners were at our house! Very comfortable couches and we would just sit there and stare at the ocean. The house was spotless, well equipped, and the beds were comfy. Overall we had a great stay and Bonnie was great to work with. We definitely would rent this again.

  Our entire family stayed here for a week and we could not ask for more. It was so relaxing to sit in the hot tub and over look the ocean, go to the beach for walks and just sit on the patio with a good book. The house has everything you need for cooking and relaxing. Internet is spotty but it is like that in most areas around there. The views are overwhelming and we just had a wonderful time. Bonnie was wonderful to work with as well. Thanks for a wonderful week.

  I took my family on a quick weekend get-away from the City. I am completely amazed at how much we got for our money. With a million dollar view, four very comfy bedrooms, a relaxing hot tub with an ocean view, a gourmet Kitchen, an outdoor kitchen, lots of seating, a so much room for all of us to move around, this home truly exceeded our expectations. The beach was gorgeous, but most of all, we made great memories and will be sure to return. The owner was very prompt, courteous, and so easy to deal with. I highly recommend this home to all.

  We arrived to a beautiful sunset at the sea. The house was very clean we were welcomed with a wonderful bottle of wine. The house had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. All the beds were comfy, the kitchen well stocked, the couches comfy and t.v. easy to work. We sat and watched the ocean most of the time. The patio and hot tub were great. Will come back. I have rented many houses on Irish Beach and this is the best one yet! The photos on VRBO do not do the house or the view justice.

  We just got back from another wonderful stay at Villa Mer. This house is great for two families with kids (or one large family). There is lots of space and plenty of sleeping options. The owners take great care of the house, and had made some lovely upgrades since our last visit. The hot tub is on the front patio/deck area, with ocean views. There is also a built in BBQ. The kids' room has been rearranged, with a cozy playroom space with lots of toys and books. The house is very clean-one of the cleanest rentals I have ever stayed at. The views from the house are spectacular and you could spend your time relaxing on the decks, enjoying the views. If you do leave, the private gated beach provides hours of fun. We love staying at this beautiful house and look forward to returning. I highly recommend this house to anyone who wants to stay in the Irish Beach area.

  My wife and I wanted to get away somewhere, by the coast, to relax. Our best friends highly recommended Villa Mer vacation rental, where they had stayed recently. I have traveled all over the world and frequented many five star resorts. Nothing prepared me for what I was about to experience. The drive up to the property was beautiful. As we entered the driveway, the wonderful smell of the ocean air was all around us. Once inside, we opened up all the blinds to take in the view of the ocean. What we saw could only be described as "Awe-Inspiring". You feel like you are suspended in the air, overlooking the ocean. The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking. The waves are gently crashing on the rocks and in the distance you have a panoramic view of the entire coastline with the Point Arena lighthouse, off in the distance. Every direction you look, the view is unbelievable. We found the beach house to be very spacious with every amenity you could think of. The kitchen is laid out extremely well, with beautiful granite counter tops, all the major appliances including a smooth-surface electric cook top over the oven. There is bar seating at the counter with chairs, so you can prepare your meals and socialize comfortably. A fireplace is situated right in the main living room, so you can relax with a glass of wine, on one of the sofas, looking out over the ocean, while remaining warm and cozy. If you decide to do a little sightseeing, Mendocino is just a short drive along the coast where you can spend the day sightseeing and shopping, do a little wine-tasting or just sit and relax. It was obvious that a great deal of time and effort had gone into making us feel like we were walking into our own private getaway. With everything that we experienced, it is truly unbelievable how inexpensive the property is. I have paid twice the amount, and not had even half the wonderful experience. Our stay at Villa Mer will last in our memories forever and can't wait to stay here again. Thank you so much.

  I have rented many homes on the California Coast, and Villa Mer is one of the BEST values I have ever experienced! When we arrived, there was a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us along with a view that blows all other views “out of the water!” You can’t get any closer to the rugged Pacific Ocean than this spectacular home. It’s so spacious and beautiful here, one would expect to pay twice this home’s nightly rate, but the rents are so with an experience that exceeds expectations. Management was a dream to work with. The paperwork and process was a breeze. I’m also happy to report, our deposit came back in a reasonable timeframe. The home is spotless; everything works correctly from Internet to the electronics, to all the kitchen accessories. However, if it didn’t, there is local help who can respond if need-be. And talk about a good night’s sleep. We all enjoyed memory foam mattress toppers as we slumbered to the sound of the peaceful, splashing waves below. Getting to the private beach is easy. We couldn’t believe how private the beach truly was. We hardly saw a soul. We also got to enjoy a trip to charming Mendocino, and Fort Bragg one day, and Point Arena Lighthouse the next. What a wonderful time with our family and friends. We made wonderful memories and we are planning our return trip to Villa Mer already so we can visit Bowling Ball Beach and Glass Beach. I highly recommend this home for any size group or even to couples who want to get away from the kids. It’s a super romantic and secluded location. We will be back for sure.

  I highly recommend renting this home for anyone that is interested in relaxing with friends or family with uninterrupted views of the ocean. If the house were any closer to the Pacific Ocean you could go fishing from the deck! I spent my 30th birthday weekend at Villa Mer with my mom, boyfriend and a few other friends and the home was even better than the pictures suggested, and somehow better than what I expected. We cooked dinners together in the spacious kitchen, watched the ocean from the hot tub, and went exploring on the nearby private beach, even in the rain. I will definitely go back to Villa Mer, hopefully with a new set of friends to share the breathtaking view with. Figuring out the details both before and after my stay with the property owner Bonnie was very easy and she was exceptionally communicative. I cannot wait to have another excuse to return to Villa Mer!

  My husband and I were refered to Villa Mer by a very good friend that knew how much we love the ocean. Villa Mer is perfect, you could not get any closer to the ocean than this amazing beach house. There are windows everywhere which allow you to see for miles and miles including the beautiful lighthouse.to the left. Villa Mer has evertything you could ever want in a vacation rental, it is super clean, has everything that you could ever want or need...including a hot tub where you can watch the waves crash and relax with a bottle of wine. We highly reccomend a tour at the Point Arena lighthouse while you there along with visit to the Pier to have lunch at the Chowder House. We highly reccomend Villa Mer as the perfect getaway to all of our friends and family,
