Silly Creek Cottage is a wonderful place to spend time. We found the view off the porch completely relaxing with really incredible views of the Chalk Sound. The colors of the sound are stunning. Heather and Clayton were very friendly and very helpful with whatever we needed. The cottage was as described with everything that we needed, cottage was clean and well maintained. We enjoy snorkeling so we decided to rent a car so that we could go to Smith's Reef which was about 15/20 minutes away. Kayak was fun to use to see Chalk Sound although we encountered a bit of wind so we didn't get into it as far as we had hoped. But you really can't believe the colors of the sound. Would definitely recommend.

It's hard to imagine a place like Silly Creek Cottage exits without seeing it yourself. My husband and I have traveled quite a bit through out the Caribbean over the years. We have stayed at resorts (not particularly a fan of), condos and private villlas. This was our second trip to TCI, Provo. By far this has to be our most favorite above all else we have visited. The villa is exactly as the photos represent only better! Very clean, well maintained with modern conveniences and tasteful decor. Heather is a warm and welcoming owner making us feel at home and more like family than a guest. Anything we needed, just ask. We found a wonderful restaurant-bar Las Brisas with entertainment on a few nights that was open daily except Tuesdays just up the road from the property. It was our stop on the way back from shopping, snorkeling and even a day sailing on the catameran recapping over a glass of wine. The food here happens to be quite good as well. The kitchen is perfect for preparing any meal, whether it is a full breakfast or grilling fresh, caught that day red snapper from a local young man always ready with his daily fresh catch. We brought some spices with us and had a feast. And the sunsets.....Key West can't compare to this. The open concept living space is perfect with a private master ensuite when ready to retire. The quaint half bath was also a welcome surprise. The trade wind breezes pretty much cooled us during the day along with the ceiling fans, not even needing the a/c. Evenings were a little more still but very pleasant. We loved the private little sandy beach at the bottom of the stone steps along with the private grotto like shower built in to the rock at the beach. We felt like Robinson Crusoe only in luxury. We will definitley be back to this haven.

We can't rave enough about our recent stay in Turks and Caicos at Silly Creek Cottage. Heather, the owner, we so gracious and accommodating - the cottage is very private, secluded and impeccably kept. We had looked at vacation spots in Hawaii and Mexico and found our stay at Silly Creek far surpassing our experience in other warm, tropical destinations. You will certainly want to rent a car to get around the island, but you will be so glad to have privacy at Silly Creek, away from the bustle of Grace Bay hotels. We will definitely be back, and give it 5 Stars to anyone! We have already told a number of friends in Seattle about it. Well worth the eastward bound trip to the Caribbean!

We travel the Caribbean often, and Turks and Caicos is one island we have never visited... We have heard good things and wanted to give it a try. We found Silly Creek Cottage on VRBO and thought it sounded perfect. Upon arriving last Saturday, Heather, the owner met us at the airport and we followed her in our rental car to the cottage. (you MUST get a car) The cottage itself is exactly as described on the website. Nothing is embellished. Everything is in working order; spotlessly clean; WiFi which worked perfectly the first time I signed on. There is plenty of room insideIbigger than I expected, actually) and outside is wonderful. We spent time down by the water just reading, floating in our tubes (which we always bring with us!) and kayaking. I would mention that the steps down to the water are NOT for someone who has any difficulty walking; they are very steep and you must be careful with them. But, the trek down is very worthwhile! We also drove to Grace Bay where the really gorgeous beach is! We spent several days there. Last night we had a fabulous dinner at Mango Reef at the Alexandria Resort. Gorgeous! Most other nights we grilled here at the cottage. I shop for meats at home (burgers, steaks, chops, etc) and freeze them. I put them in a thermal bag and we carry it right on the plane...never an issue at the airport. Saves you a lot of money eating out, and food in the islands is always more expensive than in the states. You can bring most anything that is not a liquid! I would absolutely recommend Silly Creek Cottage. Heather was always an e-mail away and I am sure I could have called her any time we needed anything. I hope to come back here someday in the near future!

My wife and I stayed at Silly Creek for a week in late 2012. We were met by the property owner at the airport, who personally led us to Silly Creek to make sure we didn't get lost. The house was clean and bright when we arrived, and lived up to all our expectations. All the "little things" that you might not think of were taken care of ... utilities, appliances, internet, etc... all worked great. There was snorkel gear and two kayaks ready to be used. The only problem we had was locating the speaker cabling to connect to an iPod. The location was perfect for us - we were on our honeymoon and just wanted somewhere secluded, quiet and romantic. Silly Creek was all of those - even though there were a number of homes around Chalk Sound - we didn't see a single person in the Bay the entire time. There's really nothing within walking distance - so you definitely need to rent a car to maximize your island experience. We had one, and were able to stock up at the local grocery, hit several restaurants, see a little nightlife (Maskanoo!) but always drive home to this quiet little house away from all the noise and lights. Highly recommend and hope to return!

We leave the cottage tomorrow morning after 2 weeks of wonder and amazement.....this place makes the best home for exploring the island by auto, but there is so much to explore by just jumping on the kayak and paddling out to see Chalk Sound, the iron shore (we found a turtle carcas), Heather's beaches (found a sharks tooth) and so much more. The cottage is perfect and we enjoyed cooking our own meals, sunning on our own private beach, and watching the sunsets from the beautiful deck, plus candlelight dinners on the deck with an amazing starlit sky. A clean and well kept beach cottage with a fantastic location which is even better than described on the VRBO site...... JUST STAY HERE!!!!!

My family and I had been researching vacation destinations for the past couple of years and we had a list of criteria that we were using for evaluation. I won't bore you with that here but I will say that Silly Creek Cottage and Turks & Caicos exceeded our expectations in every way. The cottage itself is in a nice, quiet part of the island but with our rental car, we were able to be basically anywhere we wanted to be on the island in no more than 30 minutes, and in many cases less time. The listing represents the property as well as can be expected from photos but you really need to see this place to get the full effect. The sunsets are phenomenal! The property was clean, well-maintained and contained all of the amenities listed, plus some. I would highly recommend taking full advantage of the kayak out back to make your way to a couple of private beaches a short distance away, only accessible by boat. I'd also recommend Taylor Bay if you like quiet empty beaches with turquoise water waist deep for several hundred yards. This beach is only about a 5 minute drive from the property. We cooked in quite a bit but for restaurants I would recommend the following: Smokey's - local cuisine, no frills atmosphere Horse-eye Jack's - Rum bar and restaurant, great outdoor environment, literally 5 steps from the water Tiki Hut - Located at Turtle Cove Marina, another great outdoor environment, local cuisine as well as burgers, etc. Last, but certainly not least, the owner was an invaluable resource and really helped make this trip something special for us. She met us at the airport, led us to the property, and gave us a full tour complete with a few recommendations on various activities, etc. She was also available to us for the entirety of our stay, and we bothered her on more than one occasion! She was delightful each and every time we communicated which is one of those intangible items that can make or break a vacation experience. We are already planning our next trip and hope to make it during the summer of 2013. It was the vacation of a lifetime and I fully expect the next one will be even better!

My husband, 4 yr old, and I stayed here during the summer and it truly felt like home. Heather is a very warm and welcoming owner and goes out of her way to make your stay enjoyable. The house is in a very quiet area and felt very safe. One of the highlights of our trip was getting to go out in the kayak every day and swim at our own private beach. We also enjoyed just relaxing on the deck with a daquiri in hand and taking in the beautiful view. I definitely suggest having at least one dinner out on the deck to watch the sun go down. Very romantic. Heather had a baby pool filled up with water for my daughter and she really loved that. Was great for when we got back from dinner and she wanted to go swimming to cool off before bedtime. The house is just a quick drive to Taylor Bay, which was one of our favorite beaches, as well as Sapodilla Beach. It may seem far away from the Grace Bay area, but in reality the island is really small and it would take us no more than 15 minutes to get to the Grace Bay area restaurants for dinner. The house is very well equipped and I didn't find myself lacking for anything needed to cook meals in the kitchen. Even a blender so you can make your own frozen drinks! Also had free w-fi and books to read in case you read all yours. The house was so comfortable that we often had to force ourselves to go do things because we really just wanted to stay and enjoy the house and its amazing views. Would recommend in a heartbeat and can't wait to go back! Thanks so much Heather!

About the owner: My Husband and I are both natives and residents of the Turks and Caicos Islands and Attorneys by profession. We live a hectic lifestyle and decided to build a getaway cottage on Silly Creek in Chalk Sound, away from our home in the Leeward area of Providenciales. We love entertaining and welcoming people to our shores and since many tourists visit the Chalk Sound area whilst in the Turks and Caicos Islands we recently decided that we could help them enjoy their stay even better by offering this on-island retreat, which is a perfect, secluded, secure, cozy cottage with exquisite views of the magnificent turquoise and azure waters.

Why the Owner Chose Chalk Sound:
The beautiful turquoise waters of Chalk Sound and Silly Creek was the number one reason why my Husband and I chose to build this cottage as our second home away from home. However, our hectic schedule would not allow us to enjoy it as much as we would love to so we decided to share our secret with others by putting it on the rental market. We love entertaining and welcoming people to our islands which made this an easy decision for us. We now intend to develop the property further in the future, without losing its unique characteristics charm and its balance with nature.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
This is a spectacular getaway and hideaway, with all of the modern amenities for your enjoyment and pleasure.
