The house has both a furnace and gas fireplace/stove. There is a full kitchen, dining area, closed in porch (ideal for evening card-games) and large deck. You will find the house to be clean and furniture in good condition. There is one downstairs bedroom with a double bed. There are two upstairs bedrooms. One has a double bed, bunk-bed set and one twin bed. The other has a double bed and sofa-bed. The living room also contains a sofa-bed. There is also a sleep cot available.
The lake in front of the house is sandy, shallow and ideal for children. The evening sunsets take your breath away. The boat dock and hoist are available for your use.

Be sure to check out our 'Fun at Mullett Lake' video http://vimeo.com/71550283
Mullett Lake is a 10-mile long, spring-fed, crystal–clear lake. Pigeon bay is calm and ideal for fishing (walleye, bass, pike, trout, perch and muskie) or serious water skiing. Pontoon, water ski and fishing boat rentals are nearby.
The lake is part of the great inland waterway, by which one can boat 45 miles through a wildlife-filled, scenic chain of lakes and rivers starting in Pickerel Lake to Lake Huron through two locks, four large lakes and three beautiful rivers.
There's a local bald eagle that we see on a regular basis either soaring above the lake or catching fish.
If you enjoy river tubing, kayaking or canoeing, be sure to plan a ride down the Sturgeon River which can be arranged through Big Bear Adventures in town.
It’s only a short drive to Indian River or Cheboygan, only 40 minutes to Petoskey or Harbor Springs and 30 minutes to Mackinac. A trip to Mackinac Island is a recommended day-trip activity where travel is only allowed by foot, horse-drawn carriage or bicycle. The scenery and historic setting is wonderous.
Other area attractions include the famous 'Cross in the Woods,' the world's largest crucifix carved from a giant 55-foot California Redwood.

Perfect for our 2nd annual family vacation! Room enough for all 8 of us, including a 2 year old!!! Bedrooms upstairs were great for putting kids to bed and still able to move about the house all evening. It was hot a couple days and the fans were needed, but worked fine in the upstairs, lots of windows. Had 2 visitors and they were no problem sleeping 2 more. Mostly spent as much time as possible outdoors, we had a great week. Fished, played boated, the part lagoon on lake was fun, and the kayaks were loved by all. I think this vacation house just felt like it was for us!

August 2013 Mullet Lake vacation stay
August 2013 Mullet Lake vacation stay
Our family just returned from an absolutely fabulous vacation at this property on Mullet Lake and couldn't have been happier. From the moment we walked in we were pleased. The property is incredibly clean and spacious. The kitchen is well stocked and there was plenty of room for our family of 9 adults to eat together around the dining room table. We cooked together, ate together, hung out in the yard together, played volleyball and games. In the evening we enjoyed the firepit, watched the sunset and just hung out together. It was a wonderful week away. Ducks and swans and loons and even a bald eagle live on the lake. INCREDIBLE. The lake is shallow and sandy. The kayaks provided are very nice and gave us a chance to experience the lake even though we don't have a boat (there are pontoons and boats available to rent at the marina). The town of Indian River is close by and Ken's Market is a great place to get groceries. We took day trips to Mackinaw Island, Mackinaw City, Charlevoix, Fisherman's Island, and St. Ignace all of which were close enough for easy day trips. We 9 adult family members vacationing together, if we had really wanted to bunk it up we could've easily fit 4 more adults. All correspondence with the property owner were pleasant - she was very patient and helped us out tremendously. It was a great vacation and great property. I would highly recommend this property and Mullet Lake for your Northern Michigan vacation plans.

This house sits on a great spot on Mullett Lake. The sunsets were breathtaking! The house was well equipped with kitchen accessories, plenty of towels, lots of games for the kids (inside and outside) and the kayaks were a nice bonus. We had 4 adults and 5 children with us and the house seemed to accommodate us well. The kids shared a room that had a bunk bed, twin bed and a full bed. There is no air conditioning, but plenty of fans that help keep it cool. The house is a bit outdated, but has a cottage feel and the view and outdoor area make that pretty forgiving. We did the mackinac trip one day and it was a short trip there and well worth it. We also checked out the town of Cheboygan, but not much there so not worth it (imo). We liked the town of Indian River, which is really close to the cabin. There's a store called the Summer Store that we really enjoyed. The grocery store is really close too. The fishing on Mullett Lake is unbelievable...we would only go out for a couple of hours a day and pulled in quite a few fish every time. The owner was always available to answer questions and was great to work with. All in all we had a great time and would most likely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay! There were seven in our group and we had plenty of room. The sunsets were extraordinary. We especially liked the room off the back porch for playing cards and games into the night while not disturbing the ones who went to bed earlier. Would definitely rent again!

Our family had a wonderful week! This rental is very clean and well-appointed, and the owner was helpful and available for questions. We stayed with our extended family, totalling 9 people, and we had plenty of room. We appreciated the washer & dryer, the many pots, pans & kitchen appliances, the kayaks, and numerous games and toys. The shallow water near the shore was great for the kids to play in.

We had 8 people staying. Had plenty of bath towels. Kitchen was very well stocked with everything you might need, even a large pot to cook corn. Beatiful view, got a little windy a few times and weren't able to fish, but made the best of it. Parking was a little tight with 3 bass boats and trailers. Had a tough time turning around. Took the Indian River boating 1 day. Was very fun. It was like a boat parade. Also went to Macinaw city which was only about a 20 minute drive. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful location, location, location!!! Loved watching the skiers on the course! Very close to the Indian River cut-through to Burt Lake. Close to the grocery store. House is very well equipped and clean. Love the kayaks - brand new! Nice campfire. Loved it all!!! Water is crystal clear.

The property had everything needed for great a week long vacation. Roomy inside and out, and located on a quiet and private dead end street. Great location far taking day trips to other nearby cities, and plenty of water to enjoy hours on the boat. Never a boring moment! Would definitely recommend this home to friends and relatives.

Everything the owner said it would be. House had plenty of room for our 10 - 14 guests. Everything we needed was provided. Water by dock was perfect for our grandchildren to swim. Rented boat nearby, and landed 2 of the biggest fish I ever had.Other family members who never fished before even caught fish. Everyone had a great time and we will be going back.

Take your family and your pet to this welcoming house on Mullet Lake. There are no houses on either side - so unless those property owners visit, it is very peaceful and quiet. The kitchen is well equipped and the towels and sheets were provided so that saved on a lot of packing. If you have a boat, the dock is provided and the lake is spectacular - especially the sunsets. The water is knee/thigh deep right at the dock for wading and swimming. The fire pit right by the water has a wonderful swing and plenty of chairs next to it. We found the owner to be informative and helpful. The only downfall of the house is there is only one shower. Overall - great place to have a vacation with grand parents and kids.

About: This home was built in the 1980's by my parents and was their retirement home. We have spent time there every summer ever since. My parents could no longer live alone in the woods and had to move into senior living. Thus, our reason for renting. This is our family's favorite place in the world!
Why Mullett Lake:
We think this is paradise.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We spend our time mostly on the water, skiing, jet-skiing, sailing, swimming. Every year we take a trip to Mackinac Island for a leisurely bike ride around the Island. We also do an annual tubing or canoe trip down the Sturgeon River. We are always sure to go to town for the best pizza/Italian dinner at Vivio's. Also, just a lot of relaxing.
