BUFFALO CREEK LODGE - A rustic Swiss-style chalet high on our private 40-acre ridge at 2,600 feet elevation. BUFFALO CREEK LODGE is the only Bryson City destination for Madison River Outfitters, an official Orvis fly-fishing and guide service for Western North Carolina.Over 70% of the ORVIS guest return each year.
Local hemlock wood exterior blends the Lodge into its natural forested setting. Comfortable furnishings, and antique pine and cypress flooring, distinguish the spacious interior throughout. The living room's hugh floor-to-ceiling fireplace is built of native "creek rock" handpicked from local streams.
Bedrooms are furnished for convenience and comfort. Downstairs: queen plus twin,TV. Upstairs #1: queen plus twin, private balcony. Upstairs #2(master): queen with air conditioning, TV, private balcony. Two full modern bathrooms please you with all new appointments. And you'll love the handy upstairs coffee "nook" with refrigerator for your morning coffee and evening beverages.
The complete kitchen was renovated wall-to-wall in 2002 with cherry wood counter tops and all new appliances: gas stove, microwave, dishwashser, refrigerator, ice maker. Cooking utensils provided.
FOR FAMILY REUNIONS OR LARGER GROUPS. We have two additional rental facilities located within a short walking distance from the main Buffalo Creek Lodge. Ask about the Buffalo Creek Guest Cottage and the Cross Creek Cabin.

My husband and I have stayed in each of the Buffalo Creek properties. We rented the Lodge for a week in May 2010 for a Kephart family gathering and Horace Kephart Days Celebration in Bryson City. Beau, owner and host, is about as gracious as they come! I highly recommend staying at Buffalo Creek Lodge.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+.

We have stayed here twice (Oct. 08 and Oct.03) Cabin is perfect for 3 couples. It is well maintaned, the beds are great, linens are soft, and it is clean. I'm sure we will visit again.

This is our seventh year in the lodge, 4 months this summer. We love the view and our daily walks along Deep Creek in the National Park.We feed the wild turkeys that roam the property. We have lots of birds also. Our porch and deck time with Beau, the owner and good friend, are always relaxing and enjoyable. We will be back in 2009. Lee and Mary Lou

We have spent the better part of four summers in the Buffalo Creek Lodge and we could not have found a better place to stay. The Lodge is very comfortable, convenient and the owner is very accommodating. He goes the extra mile to insure your comfort. We are going back next year (2005).
