Lake Michigan Beach Front Condo (St. Joseph Area) in Coloma
- Minimum stay:Contact owner
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Just a hour and forty minute drive from downtown Chicago. Once you've stayed at this vacation rental, you'll want to keep coming back for more. Enjoyed by families since the early 1900's, this property was once the site of an entertainment 'mecca' for Southwestern Michigan. Located on beautiful Lake Michigan, it's ballroom was once the host of musical greats such as Frank Sinatra and The Tommy Dorsey Band. Over time, the ballroom was converted into lakefront condos (which still boast the original ballroom floor). Several years later, the poolside building was added. Most visitors want to extend their stays - or plan their next trip before they even end their vacation! Treat your family to a relaxing vacation packed with memories that will last for a life-time.

Nick was an absolute pleasure to work with!!! We had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend on the beach(minus some nasty weather) Very Spacious and the BEACH IS THE BEST!!!! Unit is very clean and HUGE!!! If you are looking for a place to lounge on the beach, take a dip in a pool and hang in a huge condo playing board games and hanging out this is a great place!!! Oh there is a steep walk down to beach so if you have really lil' ones be aware of that, but we were totally fine with it with 4 young children and a stroller. GREAT TIME!! thanks Nick!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway.

This is the first time staying in Coloma and Nick's place was great. The condo is a short walk to a awesome private beach on Lake Michigan. The condo was extremely large, nice and clean. Everyone in my party had a great time and have asked if we can make this a yearly thing. Hoping to go back again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was our 3rd year coming to Pottawattamie and by far the nicest place we've been in. Our first year was in #34 in the bluff building. That was a very nice unit but unfortunately we outgrew it. The second year we stayed in cabin 12 which for all practical purposes should be condemned and torn down immediately! But this poolside unit was like a palace compared to the others. I'm almost afraid to recommend it because I'm worried it will get booked up for next summer before we know our dates for next year!!! It is absolutely enormous. We had 4 adults and 4 kids (and one infant) and we still had one queen sized bedroom that went unused!! There were plenty of kitchen items (plates, cups, silverware, pots/pans, utensils, etc.) AND a dishwasher!!! Over the years we have accumulated a tub full of necessities for our group because our previous accommodations didn't have a lot of the basic kitchen items. Well, we didn't even use our tub of stuff because this place had everything...even glass wine glasses!!! Nick was AMAZING to work with. Very conscientious and concerned about every aspect of our visit. He actually followed up twice to make sure things were going well for us. I can't say enough about Nick and his lovely condo. The only slight drawback is that is not a lake view, which was a plus for our first 2 visits (and the only plus our 2nd year in the shack we paid big money to stay in), but with every other amenity offered it was not a problem at all. And did I mention it has central air??? We were there during the stretch of almost 100 degree days and let me say the central air was the icing on the cake!. The other units from our previous visits had window air conditioners but since not every room has a window, some rooms were blazing hot and the others were only mildly cool. The beach is amazing...some of the cleanest water we've seen. And there is hardly anyone there as this is a private beach for Pottawattamie only. The sunsets are SPECTACULAR!!! We usually spend the morning at the beach, have lunch and then spend the afternoon at the pool (or vice versa) so we get a chance to enjoy Lake Michigan and the complex pool (which is right down the short flight of stairs from Nick's condo). This trip was a dream come true for all of us and I will not hesitate to rent from Nick again. In fact..I can't wait to begin planning for next year!!! Thanks for everything!!! We'll be back for sure!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We had a fantastic time here on our vacation. The accomodations were more than we needed and a large family would be very comfortable here. There is a pool directly behind the condo, and there are many lake views from the windows. There is a porch that we enjoyed sitting on at sunset. The kitchen was stocked with anything we could have needed. The beach was very private and beautiful; hardly anyone on it. It will be hard to return to public beach life! -About a 4 minute walk down to the beach with a steep paved route (a little tricky with small children) but doable. There are staff that can help you in golf carts if you catch them. Great location-central to neighboring cities and events. Bob's Fresh Market is a must. Fruit, pies, jams and fresh produce. We will definitely hope to come back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We found the place spacious and comfortable for three families with kids. Shared time with friends who were staying in a condo on Paw Paw Lake. Casual atmosphere with everything you need: a/c, big kitchen stocked with the necessities, big living room, lotsa comfy bedrooms, pool, open area for kids to run around, barbeque, wide paved and lit path to private beach on Lake Michigan. Trek up and down hill to beach is standard for Michigan shore and not for weak of heart, but they offer regular lifts up the hill in golf cart. Be sure to bring bath towels and washcloths. There are residents living in the building, so wouldn't be the best place for raucous late-night parties. Didn't have need for add'l adventures, so can't comment on proximity to town, events, or other amenities (did find close convenience store and 10 min to grocery store, movie theater, ice cream shop in Coloma). We were happy to have a home away from home to rest, recharge and relax with friends watching sunsets on beautiful Lake Michigan.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.

Just returned from 5 days at this lovely condo. The description here is very accurate. Place was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed grilling out, the pool and down the cliff to the beach with its beautiful soft sand. The staff was very helpful in providing rides down to the beach to save lugging chairs and rafts. We had dinner in South Haven at Clementines and also at the Waterfront in Coloma. Karma Vista wine tasting is enjoyable as well as the Chocolate places. Restfuly and relaxing.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway.

I spent a weekend here with a group of 10 friends and it was amazing. The beach was beautiful: clean, huge and easy to get down to. The unit itself was very clean and extremely large-- definitely enough space for all 10 of us. I would absolutely recommend this condo for groups of 10 or less!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We visited this resort (specifically this unit) with a group of friends to tour all the wineries near by and had a blast. THe entire condo was gorgeous and VERY SPACIOUS!!! The entire group enjoyed picturesque sunsets on the beach both nights we were there. The beach was the cleanest beach I have ever been to. Everyone at the resort treated us like they had known us their whole lives. Highly recommend you visit. We didn't take children on this trip but we will be headed back with our families to enjoy the beach next year for sure. The hill getting down to the beach could be a challenge but the staff hurried to help us get down in their golf cart as soon as they saw us heading that direction. Thank you for a great weekend!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+.
