  This was our second stay at Shore Crest and I will tell you what I wrote to the owners. "Your house is a perfect fit for our extended family and the location is ideal. We love the church bells and the fireplace. As soon as we got there we started a 1000 piece puzzle at the table in the front window over looking Main Street and Mirror Lake. All eight of us took turns working on it, but I think the best part was watching it snow and the view of mountains, lake and village.The fireplace and the church bells...who could ask for more ambiance? " There is something for everyone in Lake Placid and this house is the perfect starting point. Some of us went skiing, others went to Mirror Lake Spa, still others went for a stroll downtown. All of this without out having to get in a car!! As we packed up to leave, everyone agreed this has to be an annual event and we can't imagine having it anywhere else but at Shore Crest!!

  This was our second year in a row renting Shore Crest and it did not disappoint. We had a fantastic time, got in some great skiing and spent a lot of time around the fireplace relaxing. Shore Crest is a full of all of the amenities our group of 14 could need and helps make our annual trip to Lake Placid a ton of fun every year!

  Had never been to Lake Placid before, shot in the dark (after reading reviews) about this house. Was perfect for what we needed. (Big, big place with separate living quarters for reunion of adult siblings). The house is steps from the quaint downtown. If you're looking for quibbles, you'll find few here. No yard (we knew that going in), steep street which can be issue in snowstorms depending on your car (plows were good though), fireplace made house smoky and bad stove/oven in the main house. Just noting for fair and balanced review, 5 stars all the way and would definitely rent again. Thanks Madeleine and Dave!! (Ps--separate apartment is great option, depending on size of your group and desire of some to have private shared space.)

  Our group of 2 families - with 6 adult children - stayed at Shore Crest for the Christmas holiday. It was a perfect house for us - enough bedrooms and each bedroom had its own large bathroom. The dining room table had ample room for all 10 of us, and can be expanded to accomodate more. The kitchen is well-equipped and large enough for several people to work in at the same time. Overall, the house is very comfortable and nicely decorated. The location is great - just a few steps from Main St, so it's perfect to walk into town and check out the shops or go for a walk around Mirror Lake.

  Shore Crest was really every we were expecting. The location could not have been better - literally walked out the door onto Main Street. There were plenty of rooms for everyone. Both Dave and Madeleine could not have been nicer, and suggested restaurants and activities nearby. I would definitely recommend staying there.

  This is hands down the best inn experience our family has ever had. You can't be the location which is walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and the lake. There is so much to do outside for our children (8, 12, and 14) as well as our parents: hikes, walks around the lake, kayaking, swimming, skiing, skating, etc. You will never go bored. However, it's also the perfect place to relax. The house is so welcoming and comfortable. It is like staying in a high end resort without the expense. You will LOVE your stay at Shore Crest!!!

• Perfect for Group Trip

  It's not very often that you rent a place online without seeing it and your expectations are absolutely blown away. This house was absolutely IDEAL for our group. We had 10 guys on our trip and wanted a getaway to play golf and let off some steam. The house is right in the middle of the strip and walking distance to all the main strip has to offer - restuarants, Starbucks, bars, night clubs, etc. Every single bedroom has its own bathroom. Enough said. The front deck is the main attraction. The picture does not do it justice. It's absolutely huge with an awesome view. We spent most of our time out on the deck playing cards, playing our guitars, playing cornhole (or bago - whatever you call it) eating, drinking morning coffee, drinking afternoon beers (lol)etc. ) If you're planning a bachelor party or just a golf getaway I would STRONGLY recommend this place. Especially for guys or gals in the mid 2o's to early 30's. The nightlife was actually damn good. We had a lot of fun and met some great people (and girls!) With 10 guys splitting the cost, it was definitely worth the cost. Madeliene was great. We had an issue with one of the doors' lock getting stuck and her husband came right over when we were golfing and fixed it. We will DEFINITELY be planning another trip there next summer for another golf weekend (great golf courses up there by the way) Pat

  Shore Crest is absolutely wonderful! Our group came up here to attend a wedding and we all wished we could have stayed longer. This home is clean, unique, roomy and fun! Each of the 5 bedrooms has it's own full bathroom. It is exactly as described. We would definitely come back here again. One member in our group left behind her purse and the cleaning staff turned it over to Madeleine and she had it in the mail the next day. Thank you Madeleine for everything!! We had a great lunch at The Creperie on Main St, - crepes, subs, salads.

• Family Reunion

  My husband and I arrived at this property for a family reunion. We were thrilled that the location was in the center of town but just up the hill one block with a beautiful and peaceful view of the lake from a lovely porch with rocking chairs! (Big plus for me). The home is so beautifully appointed that we immediately went from room to room to check out the entire place. It felt like "home". It was cozy, comfortable, charming and spotless. It was so gorgeous, and I don't want to be too "over the top" but, our stay was way too short. You can walk to the little downtown shops and restaurants. I want to go back, to the same home. I would also like whomever did the decorating to come to my house and help me. This is someone or some people with a good eye for decorating and charm. This is a fantastic place, pure and simple! I would highly recommend this place. Owner was gracious and welcoming! charm, charm, charm!

  We rented this house for our family to enjoy my husbands Ironman. All the rooms have their own bathroom which makes it very comfortable. The deck is the place were we all gathered morning and night. It is right in the center of town and made it easy to walk back and forth for the race and to the lake. I would highly recommend this house to anyone with a large group or family. Just wonderful.

  Owner response: Shore Crest is unique as one of three Main Street residential addresses but just off the beaten track to keep its private setting. To think that a previous owner enclosed its main focal point, its porch, thereby preventing groups from assembling and enjoying the stupendous view! Now from that vantage point, a newly renovated open veranda, one can enjoy its uniqueness and experience its special qualities and setting and the ambiance it affords with a stupendous view of Mirror Lake and the distant mountain range.
