Come and enjoy your stay in our custom log home in the majestic Smoky Mountains. You can enjoy our cozy & comfortable 3 bedroom, 3 bath home, fully furnished home. Internet & WIFI available. There are 4 beds and 2 sleeper futons. The kitchen & baths have granite countertops, and kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, tableware, cookware, & linens for your mountain getaway. We are located in a lovely sub division in Otto, NC. You are surrounded by mountains, nature and wild life. Right off the back decks you can sit & relax, and enjoy the change of color in the Fall season. You enjoy the beautiful sun rises and sun sets off the back decks. It is 8 miles from Franklin, NC. It is about 20 minutes to Highlands, NC. And 20 minutes to Clayton, GA.
The home is close to many of the local attractions. There are many hiking trails in the area, for adventure you can go white water rafting, or go tubing down the lazy rivers for an easier water adventure. There are boating and other water activities available in the nearby towns. You can enjoy the many summer and local fairs, and music and art festivals
Whether you golf or just want to get out of the summer heat, we have what you are looking for in a cool mountain getaway. If you are looking for a place to enjoy the colors of the season, autumn in the mountains is spectacular. This is a year round rental. When you are ready for a vacation, we are ready to make it memorable. Within an hour's drive you can explore the culture of the nation's largest Cherokee Indian Reservation, tour the palatial Biltmore Estate in Asheville, or attend countless concerts, live stage performances, art exhibits and other cultural events. Otto & Franklin are small mountain towns surrounded by beautiful streams, waterfalls, mountains, hills and valleys. The people are friendly and they organize lots of local activities, including festivals, outdoors concerts, and arts & crafts shows. There are plenty of trails for hiking and the views are breathtaking. Activities such as fishing, hunting, hiking, tubing, rafting, boating and kayaking are also available. The Franklin area is the Gem Capitol of the World, so if you try your hand at mining you are bound to find many beautiful and sometimes very valuable stones. We’re located in the “Smoky Mountains” where you enjoy cool mountain air, rivers and incredible mountain vistas. . You will enjoy the serene tranquility and unwind in our comfortable, clean, vacation home.

Thank you for the wonderful stay in your lovely log home with amazing views of the mountains. We enjoyed sitting out on the rockers and spending time with our family. The kids really enjoyed the local gem mining & we all enjoyed the waterfalls. We had turkeys greet us each morning, and saw a family of deer that was a treat! Enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. Loved the porch and rocking chairs, sitting by fire and looking out on the mountains. Great place for large family gathering or small crowd...Good location.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The views from this large mountain home are beyond fabulous. The home is situated on a gorgeous mountainside with unparalleled views of the surrounding area. The home is spacious and clean. The hosts are accomodating and gracious, and nearby gem mining was a hoot with our kids. We loved our stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Varshana and Earl's North Carolina home was everything they advertised and more. The views were spectacular, and the home was new and extremely clean. The road leading to the house was quite vertical and winding, however, it was worth the trip. The house encompassed three floors and can easily accomodate 8-12 people with room to spare. Unfortunately the satellite dish was hit by lightening prior to our arrival, which left us without television. The hosts quickly, within two days, had both television and satellite working, as well as bringing dozens of DVD's from their personal library. They also welcomed us with a wonderful bottle of wine. They were very responsive and informative and answered any calls we made. The house was near all attractions including: gem mines, antique shops, restauarants white water rafting, and well within reach of all activities. They have everything you need in the house, including front load washer and dryer, as well as detergents, coffee, and paper goods. The best part of the trip was the view from the house and the hummingbirds visiting each morning. Thank you Varshana and Earl for great accomodations! We enjoyed our stay at your lovely home. We loved waking up to the spectacular mountains views, sitting in the rockers watching the wild life in nature. We encountered a family od deer in the yard & wild turkeys another morning. The kids enjoyed the gem mining, and the several waterfalls we visited. About the owner: My husband & I moved to Franklin in 2004. We really enjoyed the mountain vistas. We bought this rental home for other people to enjoy vacationing in the smoky mountains. We over a dozen gem mines, lots of lakes and nature, wildlife and 22 waterfalls in the area. It is a wonderful place to unwind and relax in our custom log home.
