Festivities for the annual event begin in the afternoon with horse-drawn wagon rides, storytelling, food merchants, bonfires, hot cider and donut holes at the Pioneer Village and holiday carolers. After the countdown to turning on all the lights, Santa Claus makes an appearance and fireworks shoot up over town at 7:30 p.m.

Sand, Sun and Swimming
This cabin was so clean and perfect for our needs, owners were honest and easy to work with. We spent a week with our grown kids and our young grandchildren, all coming at different times. The lake is a "dream" lake for little ones to play in the sand and enjoy such a clean lake. If you are a bird watcher, this was also a great place to enjoy a variety of song birds, Eagles, Loons, Geese and many other birds. Fishing and tubing were also fun events we all took part in. We went out for dinner a couple times, but most of the time enjoyed grilling. Smores and a bonfire the last night topped of a great week.

We had a wonderful time and the kids did not want to leave :) Your lake house is very nice and more than met our expectations. The fishing was excellent right where you mentioned - just off your shore area. We caught about half a dozen 15 inch - 18 inch bass and my husband caught a northern that was about 18 inches long. We had quite a few catches that came off the hook right as we brought them to the boat too. We are relatively new to fishing, so we are still figuring it out, but it was fun to catch the "big ones." We really enjoyed Lake Edward and your sandy beach. It is my favorite out of all the lakes we have been to. It is nice and big, and there was very little activity on the lake, so it made slalom skiing and wake boarding a real treat. Even when the wind was gustier on one part of the lake, we could find smooth water on a different part of the lake. I also like that Lake Edward's depths are consistent in that we didn't have to worry about staying away from a shallow spot with the boat. Lisa K.

We absolutely loved every minute of every day. Dad finally caught his first walleye after trying for 3 years. We went to the turtle races, visited Pioneer Village, and walked through a train in Nisswa. We swam a LOT and the minnows gave us a massage on our feet. We hope to be here again next year.

Thank you so much for the rental of your lake home to our family. We all had a wonderful time. Lake Edward was a beautiful, clean lake and your beach was so sandy and nice. We rented jet ski's, caught some nice fish for a meal, and I am looking forward to coming back next year. I think our family found a "diamond in the rough" when I contacted you on the internet. We had never done anything like that before. I am so glad you made our experience so enjoyable. You made me comfortable through the entire process. We thank you again. And look forward to coming back to your beautiful lake home next year!
