Cozy lil place.
Cozy lil place.
All the basic amenities you need to enjoy your stay. Unless you like to cook, no stove. But if you spend most of your time enjoying the local cuisine and the beaches. You don't need anything more from a room. Had a great honeymoon.

Here to sleep, not to live, after all you're in Maui!

I was in this unit for a week, I was there for the marriage of my daughter (only child). This was my first time on Maui and it was absolutely amazing! This was the perfect place for me to stay, clean and well stocked. I did spend most of my time out of the room, eating out most of the time. If you plan to stay in a lot and eat, then my question is - why did you come to Maui? Please try the local restaurants, the food is great. Drive down the road to Lahaina, enjoy the shopping (Front Ave.- over a mile of shops) and eat on the water. The service at the front desk was miserable, over 45 minutes to check in with only 3 groups in front of us. Absolutely NO sense of urgency what so ever, even though we were OBVIOUSLY MELTING!!!! When they find out you are there for a rented condo, they even go slower. None of this is the Condo owners fault, it's the Resort. Everything the listing shows for the unit is there, it was perfect. I loved my stay and want to thank Trisha very much. The only thing I could suggest is a couple more beach towels and maybe two beach chairs, other than that awesome accommodations!

My husband and I literally just got home today, and we can't wait to get back. This condo is in a perfect location, close to a wonderful swimming beach, and 2 awesome snorkel spot within walking/swimming distance. The walk to shopping and restaurant at Whalers Village is a scenic stroll, and a short drive to Lahaina. Far enough away from the pretentious resorts, this is a mellow part of the island. The property still felt like you we're at a resort without the crowd. The room was a perfect size for the 2 of us. No stove, but we were creative and used the shared grills. It was a little odd to be washing our dishes in the bathroom sink, but when your in paradise you can make due! This was a lovely spot and we highly recommend it! Oh, and the bed was super comfortable!

The owners of the condo were extremely quick and pleasant in replying back to any questions we had prior to our arrival on January 26th 2013. Upon our arrival on the 26th we did notice immediately that the room had not been fully cleaned as evidenced by the amount of hair and dust on the bathroom floor, tub, under the bed and on the fixtures and food left in the fridge. There is a safe in the room, but the door was shut with no access. Our friends staying at the Villas and a friendly neighbour also came over and saw the condition of the room. I did send an email immediately to the owners to explain our situation and was a little disappointed to see this reply “Mary, we apologize that you were not happy with the condition of the room, we try our best to keep it as clean as possible, we spent 2 1/2 hours cleaning and dusting before your arrival, and We apologize for the oversight of the piece of cake in the fridge. We do our best to give a clean, comfortable room at a reasonable price, if it is not good enough for you we suggest you rent from someone else next time.” Quite shocked at this response. Not looking for perfection, but a relatively clean room was expected. I did take 15 minutes to clean out the tub and sweep up the floors and dust and looked pretty good. I did not ask for a discount or anything like that, but I did suggest a “touch up” of the room and was extremely disappointed to see this response. In regards to the safe, I did ask for access and the owners replied “Sorry for your troubles, I believe the front desk and on-site maintenance can help with any issues or questions regarding the safe...”…..not so as when we went to the front desk to inquire, we were told that it was the responsibility of the owners to look after this safe. After hearing this, I emailed back the owners stating not to worry about it as we would look after our own valuables. Make sure the safe door is open, if not cannot be utilized. Other things to note : both screen doors do not lock, limited toilet paper. We are writing this review as we were extremely disappointed with the response from the owner regarding our concerns. It is the hope that this review will ensure that others that have booked this room will not run into the same problems we did and can focus instead on a wonderful resort (staff at the resort were amazing) and Island.

We enjoyed our stay in this condo. The price was right. The room was well kept and more than adequate for two people. Furniture was very nice, newer flat screen tv, etc. You can prepare breakfast and pack lunches with no problem; don't plan on cooking any meals. The unit was very close to the rear parking lot, laundry, etc. which made access easy. The pool and beach were wonderful at this resort. Although this is a privately owned unit, the hotel staff in the lobby were incredibly friendly and helpful. The overall location of the resort is great if you plan on staying around the Lahaina/West side area. Close to golf courses, surf spots, etc. There is a shuttle bus to other nearby resorts and shopping but you need a car to explore Maui. Owner was easy to deal with and communicated promptly via email. Would definitely rent again. Thank you!

A very comfortable studio apartment. Not luxurious; cooking limited, but adequate for my wife and me: we are long time campers and back packers. Light and ventilation are two french doors. One was closed for repairs, one could open only 1/3 the way. The owners were very good about fixing the smaller door promptly, and gave us a one day rebate " for the inconvenience." The larger one required parts not available. Clean, well supplied, everything worked well (except doors.) Staff of Maui Ka'anapali Villa were very pleasant and helpful. Very nice beach access and pool. We would be happy to stay there again.

About the owner: Originally from California,we now live in upcountry Maui with our kids and pets. We love to garden, kayak and snorkel.
Why the Owner Chose Maui Kaanapali Villas:
We purchased this unit for our personal use as we relocated to Maui in 2005 . We love the quiet, friendly low-key feel of the Maui Kaanapali Villas. We think the atmosphere to be much more genuine and relaxing than the overcrowded larger chain resorts. Also this resort fronts one of the nicest beaches in all of Hawaii for safe swimming and snorkeling.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Short walk to one of the most beautiful swimmable beach in Maui, with great snorkeling. Free trolley stops in the lobby to take you golfing, to play tennis or to a luau. Activities desk on site to book any excursion you may want to enjoy.
