• Details:

  There are so many must-see attractions in Big Sur, you could come back 100 times and only begin to understand the majesty and brilliance of the surroundings which has inspired our favorite visual artists, musicians and writers for decades. The sheer scale of the giant trees and dramatic cliffs which hold the morning fog at the sea's edge makes immersions unavoidable from the first glimpse. Awile before noon, the fog burns off revealing unlimited views of the greater Santa Lucia's to the east and hiking the big trails is simplified by the fact that 'If you can see the ocean, you know which way you're go'n!'. Other than the 10 minutes walk to Pfieffer Beach, the most visually stunning beach on earth, I would prefer to make more specific recommendations for activities that might suit your group when you arrive (after all, we locals have to keep some secrets) and please be aware that Big Sur is a rugged and wild place where people are priveledged to be able to travel to at all. If you are going to be upset at the lack of cell service, slow drives up beautiful winding roads through the hills, a little extra dust or foxes peeking in your windows at breakfast I would respectfully suggest that you make room for those of us who absolutely love this lifestyle. ...morecollapse
