' PILOT HOUSE'
Location, Location, Location. Close to the beach and accesses(1 block) with views of the Ocean from the living area and screened dining area and deck. Free sunrises everyday. All the benefits of semi-oceanfront without the traffic. Arrive, park, and enjoy. New Food Lion, 24 hr Harris Teeter, coffee shops, restaurants, surfshops, galleries, and fishing pier are all within 1/2 mile. Pool gets the sun all day. Upper deck is shaded in the late afternoon. This stretch of beach has a natural shore break that is great for surfing, boogie boarding and body surfing.

Top level has a king bed, full bathroom, living area, dining area, kitchen, hard wood floors, screened in dining area, and deck area.
Middle level has a Queen Master bedroom with private bathroom with jacuzzi tub, additional queen bedroom with shared full bathroom, a 3rd bedroom with a twin over full bunkbed, outside entrance,and large deck area with Hot Tub.
First level has an entrance through the carport area. There is a game room area with two twin beds, Playstation 2 with games and 6 ft. Pool Table. There is a full size laundry room with W/D, half bath, and a 2nd full size Refridgerator/Freezer. Outside there is the Pool area, enclosed outside shower, basketball goal, and fish cleaning table.
All bedrooms have TV and DVD
Linens provided with beds made, bath towels and some beach towels provided as well.

We do allow pets on a limited basis. No cats or puppies. Well trained smaller or short haired dogs will work.
Smoking is allowed outside only and these rules have kept the house pet and smoke odor free.
Floor plan allows a for lot of activity without everyone tripping over each other. When my kids bring guests the pool , gameroom, and hot tub tend to keep them downstairs while my friends and I can enjoy some quieter time on the upper level.
No better place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon cocktail than the upper deck.

My husband and I came down to run the OBX 1/2 Marathon with another couple. We had a wonderful mini vacation and enjoyed every minute of our stay! Than (the owner) is a great person to work with and was very accommodating with our needs for a partial week stay. His home has everything you can possibly need and more. The bonus things that he includes like sheets, beach & bath towels, beach chairs, gas grill and the beach cart were all greatly appreciated. We loved everything about Than's home, the personal decorating touches, close to the beach, games, movies, books, well stocked kitchen, spa (was wonderful for our sore muscles!) and very well kept and clean! Thank You again Than for everything! Hopefully next time we will get to meet you! P.S. Don't forget to train to run OBX 1/2 next year!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We are a large family (3 generations of travelers) and truly enjoyed our stay. The kids had lots of things to do (even when it rained) and the open floor plan upsairs allows for everyone to be together to eat, watch TV or play a game. The beach is so close!! The chairs and beach wagon came in handy to make walking to the beach a breeze. Than was wonderful to check on us and offer suggestions on local spots to eat and visit while we were there.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

We spent July 4th week of 2011 at the Pilot House and had a wonderful time. From Than's hospitality, to the lovely accomodations of the beach house, to the proximity to the beach, and the beach weather and all the fun and sun that comes along with it, you cannot find a better place to vacation!! The house was great for both the parents and the kids. We were close enough to the beach for the toddlers to walk. The pool was appreciated by all as well. We can't wait until next year!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car.

Why the Owner Chose Nags Head:
We vacation at Nags Head every summer and it was now or never on buying a Beach House.While I hadn't won the lottery and therefore could not buy oceanfront, I was incredibly lucky to find this one. I spent a year looking and this was the one house that was everything we were looking for. It is one of the few with clear views and close proximity to the beach. It still looks and feels new and has everything we need to relax whatever the weather may be. We love this section of the beach because of everything that is close by and the beach itself is one the best stretches of beach down here with a good natural surfbreak.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
There is enough room for me, and my girls and their guests not to trip over each other. I can hang out on the upper level while they have the lower two. No better place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon cocktail than the upper deck.
