My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks. It was a great experience. Although a mere two-minute walk from many subway lines and buses, the apartment was quiet and peaceful. Extremely clean. The queen-size bed is comfortable. The owners were very helpful, friendly, gracious, and always willing to answer questions. I felt quite safe. The apartment is in a great location (near wonderful restaurants, BAM, subways, food shopping). I would definitely recommend this apartment to friends and rent the apartment again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car.

This garden apartment is very clean and in a very nice neighborhood; very near the Atlantic metro station (trains and subway) which made it very easy to get into Manhattan and back again. We never heard street nor neighbor noise unless we had the back door open, and then it was minimum. The owners helped us with finding groceries, providing a map of the area, and were very personable and pleasant to talk with. Christopher is very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the area. A nearby grocery store, Provisions, was wonderful, along with its sister wine shop just down the street (The Green Grape). Although the "garden" is accessible, the owners acknowledge that an upgrade is forthcoming (a long-term tenant recently vacated now giving the owners inspiration to garden). It is a roomy apartment with lots of hangers and a large bathroom. The bed is very comfortable and everything in the apartment was in great condition. We had a great walk around the Fort Greene neighborhood enjoying the park nearby. We would stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

About the owner: We are an architect and an artist with two older children. We both work from home. We love New York City and know where to find things and what to visit in Brooklyn and Manhattan. We have all traveled extensively around world so are aware of what's needed when staying in a new location. We are a bilingual home speaking both French and English. There are two cats in the house, but they stay upstairs.
Why the Owner Chose Brooklyn:
Fort Greene and the surrounding neighborhoods have become quite trendy as of late and the block is part of the Brooklyn Academy of Music historic district. Aside from the character of the neighborhood, we have tremendous subway access which makes our location In Brooklyn closer to key destinations in Lower Manhattan, Soho and Greenwich Village than those who live in the upper East and West sides of Manhattan.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
We are right around the corner from the Brooklyn Academy of Music which offers a unique program of avant-garde and modern performances by many leading artists and performers from around the world. There are several restaurants in the area, as well as boutique clothing and art stores.
