If you feel energetic you may want to ride bikes or take a walk on the 30A biking trail. Come back in time to cook out on the grill and enjoy the stars under a perfect beach sky.
Between Seaside and Seacrest Beach, “Blue Heaven” is the perfect venue to enjoy the wonderful attractions of the Emerald Coast--beach, pool and other family entertainment, as well as excellent golfing, fishing, dining, yet away from the traffic and crowds in Destin.
FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT. Of course, the beach and pool are the prime family attractions at BLUE HEAVEN, but there is much more nearby. Rides, shows, and other attractions, including Shipwreck Island Water Park in Panama City Beach, which begins five miles east. Approximately 20 minutes to the west, you will find Silver Sands Factory Outlet stores along with all of the amenities of Destin. If you would like to take a little drive to Pensacola, the Naval Air Station (home of the famous Blue Angels) is host to an outstanding air museum, free of charge.
GOLF. The bag drop at Tom Fazio's Camp Creek Golf Course is only about a five minute drive. Many other fine courses are nearby, including Hombre (a site for Qualifying School for the 2002 and 2004 PGA Tour); Bay Point (two courses, Lagoon Legend with its 152 slope may be the hardest course you'll ever play and the more reasonable Club Meadows course); Fred Couples' Kelly Plantation (one of the most pristine you'll ever play); Regatta Bay (some say it's better than Kelly Plantation); Holiday and Signal Hill (perhaps best values you'll find); Greg Norman's Shark's Tooth (private, but with restricted public access) and Santa Rosa Beach.
FISHING, HIKING, BIKING, BLADING, KAYAKING. Deep-sea fishing is at its best a few miles west out of Ft. Walton, the world's luckiest fishing village. Big ones also lurk in the nearby bay waters. The paved trail along 30-A is great for bikers, hikers and bladers with easy access to State Parks, particularly Deer Lake and Grayton Beach State Parks, with beach access and incredible views of the gulf, sand dunes and coastal dune lakes with their very unique ecosystems.
NATURALLY CERTIFIED. Visitors who enjoy trekking off the beaten path to enjoy 25,000 acres of protected and preserved lands are in for a real treat this year. Through Beaches of South Walton’s Nature Based Certification Program, area outfitters and tour operators are becoming certified to deliver an accurate natural experience to visitors. The certification includes a Master Naturalist Course from the University of Florida and guarantees the tour operates under environmentally sound principles that contribute to conservation, protection and enjoyment of area resources.
SUPER RESTAURANTS. Borago's, Fish out of Water, Cafe Thirty-A and Creolia's, our four Bon Appetit' restaurants, are within minutes from BLUE HEAVEN, as are many casual dining spots, including the world famous Red Bar in Grayton Beach, Bayou Bill's and the Spicy Noodle.
SEASIDE IS LESS THAN A 5 MINUTE DRIVE WEST. Seaside (where the movie THE TRUMAN STORY was filmed) is to the west on 30-A, and a must-visit venue with its many shops, restaurants, markets, FREE family films on Friday nights and FREE summer concerts under the stars on Saturday nights, along with other cultural events. Be sure and catch a sunset from the 2nd floor bar at Bud and Alley's.
