We decided to have a quick getaway to the mountains to close up the summer season. The owner was very accommodating and he made the process both streamline and flexible. The cabin is clean but the bathrooms were VERY clean which made me happy. I think they were a lot cleaner than some nice hotels I've stayed at! The couches were comfortable to lounge on and the beds were very comfortable. The dining table was nice and big to gather around and the views of the trees were very relaxing. There are two sets of stairs in the house which might be a concern for those with toddlers. We had one that was not too mobile yet and two that were pretty good at stair climbing so we were ok, but just something to note. We went down to the private lakes by car, went into the village for a bit, and grilled some steaks for dinner. The lakes require the beach pass which the owner provides for the stay and you definitely need to bring it with you as they ask to see it right away. The beach areas was small but were perfect for our little kids. One of the beaches is by the lake arrowhead resort and the other is by the UCLA conference center. The kitchen was well stocked- the only thing I didn't see was a hand mixer-not a big deal. Just a tip: we did have to haul our trash from the property and didn't know where to put it until we found plenty of dumpsters in the village that residents could actually use. We ended up forgetting our bedsheet there and the cleaning crew got it for us and sent it to us which was greatly appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will try to come back for a winter stay!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The pictures don't do it justice! Beautiful living room / dining room area with a giant round table that seats 10 (great for parties!) and a fireplace that will keep the entire room nice and toasty... all for a great price for the weekend. Huge vaulted ceiling, with a den upstairs, tons of bedrooms, and a fully stocked kitchen. This place has everything you need... walking distance (about a mile or so) from arrowhead Village and the lake. That's just the cabin... Mike was incredibly friendly, prompt, and professional. He genuinely cares about his guests and you can tell he really wants you to have a good time and enjoy your stay. He even includes recommendations on where to eat and activities you can do while staying there. In short, the cabin itself or Mike's professionalism and friendliness, if taken separately, would be enough for me to give my 5-star recommendation. Taken together, it's a no-brainer.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family and I wanted to personally thank the owners for the opportunity to stay at this lovely mountain home. The house is quite is spacious, clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. It is also very close and convenient to the Village and the lake for summer enjoyment. We stayed 4 days with morning breakfast and dinner in the large round table which is perfect for an evening games, perfect for all of us (9). We had picnic lunch on the boat dock and a swim in the lake was nice. One afternoon we BBQ and had a good food and good time. The owners were easy to deal with, accommodating, nice. “Great Customer Service”. I will definitely stay here again! And I've recommended this home to family and friends.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I took 9 high school girls for a snow weekend and we had a blast sledding on the trails behind the house and building a snowman. Even at the capacity of 10 people the house felt spacious and comfortable. A fire in the fireplace added ambience.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

My family and another family stayed at this place right after the Christmas Holiday and we all had a blast. The kids made the upstairs den their little retreat. The adults played games and talked and laughed in the living room. We can see the kids from where we were, so it was perfect!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

With 6 of us and one very large Siberian Husky in tow, we headed for the mountains and Mike and Debbie's Chalet. When we were looking for a place for a winter vacation, this chalet was the second one we looked at and never looked any further, as we found the ideal place. As luck would have it, it lived up our expectations. First, it had snowed the week before we arrived and again the day before, so the winter wonderland setting was there. Next, walking in and seeing exactly what we saw on the online pictures. The decor is very nice and welcoming and the views are great. We loved the round dining table and the jetted bathtubs were very welcoming after sledding, snowboarding and tramping through the snow. By the way, there is a hill up and behind the house that was great for all those activities and no one else was there, we had it all to ourselves. Lake Arrowhead Center is close by with its many stores and restaurants. I finished up my Christmas shopping with a sigh of relief. We enjoyed a meal at Woody's Boathouse and a breakfast at the Waffle House. We all had a great time and agreed that Mike and Debbie's chalet was the cat's meow. We are thinking of our next stay sometime next summer for a different perspective. And that big Siberian Husky who had never seen snow before, had the time of his life.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Having trouble with owner and house

The owner gave us wrong information about wheelchair accessibility. He told us that their were only 3 steps but that was false there were seven and more. We had a very hard time getting access to the house it was terrible. Our son that was in the wheelchair couldn't come out of the house because of the steps. After all this trouble he kept $50 of our security deposit for nothing he said we broke the shower head but we didn't brake it. All in all the house has many uncomfortable steps the gas grill was very dirty and the gas was not coming out right it was blocked. We couldn't use the wi-fi even though he said there is wi-fi. I don't recommend this house to children and old people.Owner response: This is the first unfavorable review we have ever received and feel we need to respond. This was a last minute reservation. They reserved the cabin late one afternoon and went up the next morning. We do not advertise that the cabin is wheelchair accessible and gave them the most precise information we could as to the number of steps. The photos are accurate and do show that there are stairs however the master bedroom, a bathroom, kitchen, dining room and the deck all on one floor. The wifi does work and the password is in the rental contract. We are available to all our guests by phone during their entire stay and they could have called us for help getting online. We were not made aware of any problems at all during their stay. When we spoke to them right after they left they said they had a great time and everything went well. It was when we returned the security deposit and deducted the cost of replacing the broken shower head that they became unhappy and threatened to write a bad review. Our cabin is beautifully decorated, well maintained and the other reviews are reflections of that. We want our guests to enjoy the beautiful setting and do all we can to make sure the cabin fits their needs and they have a pleasant time

We rented this cabin for a long weekend getaway. The amenities are wonderful. Nice relaxing in front of the fireplace looking out @ all the trees. The second story view is perfect for looking out and seeing all the birds and squirrels in the trees. We didn't have any snow, but a short drive into snow valley and we were tubing down the runs on inner tubes with the kids... We have been here when there was snow and plenty of space and hills in the back of the cabin to go sledding. The cabin is fully stocked with everything we needed and the large great room is wonderful to be able to eat all together as one family. The loft has a huge big screen TV that was great for viewing the super bowl and then we hooked up the Wii and plenty of room to play games. Lots of privacy for sleeping. Great stay... will stay again...Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
