  My husband, two children, and I stayed in this wonderful, cozy cottage for three nights over spring break. It was perfect. It had everything we could ask for, including thoughtful touches like a vase of flowers on the table, a stacked clothes washer and dryer and hand lotion - the latter two were much appreciated after two days of mining for sapphires at Mason's (which is another amazing place to visit). Dave, the landlord who lives next door, is very nice and easy going - it was comforting to know that he was close by in case we needed any help with working the appliances (we didn't), etc. His pets are adorable, too, for the animal lovers in the crowd. The beds were SO comfortable and we slept like logs each night. There is a fenced in back yard attached to the cottage, and it was so easy to let our dog in and out to do her business, without having to worry about losing her. I cannot think of enough wonderful things to say about Dave, the cottage, the Franklin area, etc. This was our first time using VRBO, and I think we really lucked out. Not even mentioning the incredibly reasonable price. We were able to save a lot of money on this trip by preparing meals in the cottage. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the wonderful experience!

  My husband, our two young sons, and I enjoyed our visit to Franklin so much, We stayed at this lovely cottage and really appreciated it. Since the nights were cold, the gas heater was especially welcome - it kept us toasty warm each night. The beds were clean and extremely comfortable and the washing machine was a welcome feature, especially since we spent all day mining for sapphires at Mason's Mine. Our clothes didn't stay clean for long between washes! The fenced-in backyard was another nice feature, as we had our dog with us and were able to let her outside to do her business without worrying about losing her. Dave is a great guy - many thanks to him for sharing his home with others!

  This is such a lovely place to stay. The owner is wonderful to work with, the cabin is located in a nice quiet area but was close enough that we made day trips to Bryson City, Maggie Valley, Asheville, etc without staying in a place where there is so much congestion and noise. The rate is fantastic, you want find anything better. Will always remember this place and recommend to family and friends. Thanks David for a lovely week in nice and charming cabin

  We enjoyed the cabin over Memorial Day weekend while exploring Highlands and Franklin. Nearby outdoor activities abound. The cabin is secluded, well-maintained, and rustic amidst a scenic property next door to the owner and operator, David. We appreciated David's laid back and friendly demeanor; he was also communicative and quick to respond during booking. Visitors will most definitely want to spend some time on the porch--a highlight featuring a great mountain view. Highly recommended.

  We were looking for something cozy, simple, close to town, & quiet--we got all of that & more! Our visit to Franklin was a special one, meeting up with family we've never known, and this cabin provided a wonderful place for all of us to get together, enjoy coffee or wine on the front porch, while the kids watched movies inside. We were able to bring our dog who enjoyed the fenced yard. The view off the front porch was beautiful & wonderful to wake up to each morning! The long counter/bar that separates the kitchen from the living room was Perfect to set up breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks for our family! Our family of 3 had plenty of space to relax, and we still had room for the additional family of 3 plus when they visited! The price is perfect and Dave was a great host. He gave us time to unpack before checking in, there were flowers and a perfectly cleaned cabin to greet us, and Dave gave us our privacy throughout our visit. His kitties wandered around the property & we love animals, so it was fun to 'visit' with them as well! The long front porch had ample room & we loved spending time outside. We had to bring chairs out for additional seating (there's a 3 cushion rattan piece already outside) but that was nothing different than we'd do at home when entertaining. We were super close to town, within minutes of a grocery store & restaurants, and not far from neighboring day trips either. All in all, we were super happy with everything!

  Excellent value for the price! Cabin is warm, cozy, clean and well maintained. Has all of the amenities and then some; with a well stocked kitchen, outdoor seating area, BBQ for grilling, and washer/dryer. The owner, David, was courteous and hospitable. Cabin is only minutes away from charming Franklin and located in the beautiful Smokey mountains. The best part is that you get all of this at the best rate around! Would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a homey retreat.

  The cottage was well worth the price, it was clean and had plenty of room to park on level ground. The location was as posted very close to town. We were greeted by the owner and he was very helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. The cottage sits next door to the owner's home, but there was plenty of privacy. The water was soooo cold and wonderful to drink from the faucet, we didn't have to use any icecubes and there was plenty of good hot water for bathing. The view from the porch could have been more pleasant, but we didn't get to sit outside due to the broken porch furniture, new porch furniture would be a plus especially a picnic table for eating outdoors and a rocker or two for sitting and drinking hot chocolate/coffee. The bed slept very well and the heaters kept us warm on the cool nights. The kitchen was very cute and reminded me of my grandmothers home, it was missing a few amenties so we bought some items and left them for others to use. I look forward to returning again and pray others treat this cottage as gracious and respectful as we did, we will recommend this to other couples and small families!!! Thank you for allowing us the pleasure of renting your cottage!!!!
