Casa de la Luna Llena is the Penthouse (8th floor) in the brand new gorgeous El Cantil Condominiums, located next door to the Cozumel Palace. Your views are breath-taking--facing the south as well as to the west and across the island also!
You are 3 blocks from downtown San Miguel (Cozumel), a 2 minute-walk to the shops along the ocean, and yet you are far enough away from the tourist bustle to enjoy the crystal-clear waters and quiet.
El Cantil was built by Al Dannerman, owner of the new 5 star PRIMA's TRATORIA, located on the top floor of El Cantil next door to the Penthouse . Unprecedented luxury in a building built to the highest quality standards. To quote one of our recent tenants, "The Casa exceeded our expectations which rarely ever happens."
Your private, secure elevator opens directly into the Casa. To your right is a commissioned waterfall by famed artist Nayer Kazemi, which gives a soft, soothing sound throughout the Casa should you choose to use it. Ahead is a breath-taking view across the Carribean Ocean to Playa del Carmen and Xcaret through the 8 foot high floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors. All windows and sliding glass doors have screens and there are tropical wood ceiling fans in every room should you prefer gentle breezes and the sound of the waves to air-conditioning.
As you enter the Great Room, you see custom Ceramic tile floors, striking carved wood, rattan, and leather furniture, comfortable sofas and chairs, lots of reading lights, a satellite-TV, DVD/CD, and stereo with surround sound. Casa de la Luna Llena's 4212 sqft gives ample room for everyone to find a special nook or sufficient room to socialize and party. It's perfect for large groups of friends or family gatherings.
The dining table seats 10 comfortably in luxury. There is a wine refrigerator, barstools, a fully equipped kitchen with top-of-the-line GE Profile appliances, and various small appliances. At the trestle desk in the Great Room, you can write your memoirs or fill out your dive log.
Four expansive bedroom suites each have their own private baths and balconies (check out the photos!). The Owner's Suite bathroom has a built-in custom urinal for the discerning gentleman. One bedroom is even set up as an office if you want to work a little while you play.
Wireless high speed DSL so bring your laptop! FREE Calls to USA or Canada. The Casa sleeps 8 people easily —- no tripping over each other and plenty of privacy (10 if using my additional pop-up elevated Queen sized guest bed that is very comfortable).. There is also a beautiful half-bath just off the elevator.
On the 800+ sqft. oceanfront veranda is a hot tub (seats 6 to 8), chaise lounges, a table with 4 chairs, 2 rocking chairs with ottomans and more. The veranda wraps around the south side of the building so you have a panoramic view.
Your elevator also takes you to the basement/garage, directly opposite the entrance to the beach and the 3 level pool. Tables with umbrellas and chairs, chaise lounges, palapas are on the clean white sand beach and by the pool.
There is a boat dock and dive rinse tanks; you can be picked up by any dive or tour outfit or scuba/snorkel right off your private beach. A secure storage locker is in the basement, so you don't have to cart your heavy wet gear up and down.
Across the street is Chedraui (a combination Costco, WalMart, Safeway, and Walgreen's), the local Cineplex and an Internet cafe if you left your laptop behind.
If you don't feel like cooking, there are many fine restaurants within walking distance or a short cab ride away. Or hire a personal chef and relax or Prima's next door will deliver 5 star meals to your door.
If you want authentic local food, stroll down any of San Miguel's side streets or go to the Mercado. The people are all delightful and friendly. The culture is warm and inviting. It is safe here!!!
Your multilingual, full-time American management & concierge provides daily maid service and can arrange for any number of activities--day trips to Xcaret, renting a scooter or car, babysitters, even private chefs.
I can answer many questions you have about diving in Cozumel. I have been diving for over 40 years (started with the Mark 1 Aqualung J. Costeau used), Military Mark V Hard Hat diver 2nd Class, and I am a PADI Master Diver. As an enthusiastic scuba diver, I spend as much time as I can in Cozumel. So whenever you're there [sigh], I'm a bit jealous 'cause I'm not. But you enjoy yourself, I'll have my time later!

- Air Conditioning: Three zones and 13 tons of A/C are more than enough to keep you cool, actually too cool so please keep the thermostat down and you will be more comfortable
- Washer: Washer is in our secure garage, just take the elevator directly down and walk over to the other staircase.
- Dryer: Dryer is in our secure garage, just take the elevator directly down and go over to the other staircase.
- Linens Provided: These are quality cotton and very comfortable, replaced with brand new bedding often.
- Garage: A private parking space for the Penthouse unit is marked for your use only with secure gate and security card issued. Just take the elevator down.
- Elevator: Otis (made in France) elevator has a MEDECO security key that when used, brings the elevator exclusively and directly into the foyer of the Penthouse, where there is an additional 'Jaguar' motif custom air-tite/sound proof security door.
- Beds
- King Bed: The furniture is highest quality (Tommy Bahama and others) and beautiful and the Owners suite is a California King, longer by a few inches if you like to stretch out or are a taller person.
- Queen Bed: The furniture is highest quality and beautiful, but this ocean suite bed and matching furniture have to be seen to be believed.
- Twin/Single Bed (2) : These two beds are in suite 4, perfect for single adults or the kids.
- Convertible Bed: This is a bed built in China in a suitcase. Once unzipped, you plug it in and turn it on and an air bed on a raised platform appears like magic (queen sized). It is only used when more than 8 people are in residence.
- Murphy Bed: King Sized double pillow top mattress and custom designed and built of Cherry wood, always down and beautiful with glass showcase built in.
- Crib: this and other foldaway beds can be brought in by the management to suite any configuration you desire for your comfort.

- Beachfront: You look down at our private boat dock, the pools, your family soaking up the rays while you are upstairs soaking up lemonade or your favorite drink.............. our small beach is accessed under a grotto we built. Great diving right off the dock or beach.

- Telephone: You can make or receive calls from our private phone in the Penthouse. Should have MagicJack soon for free USA and Canada calls.
- Broadband Internet: high speed DSL in two locations (Wi-Fi is coming)

- Suitability
- Pet Friendly: Call and inquire, it may be possible on a case by case basis. The Penthouse must be in perfect condition for all my guests (and myself) so pets if allowed would have to be perfectly trained and not be allowed on the furniture to avoid alergic reactions to some renters, etc. So far, no pets have ever been in the Casa.
- Handicapped Accessible (may have limitations): From the street to the garage and pools, we have built in ramps and the elevator to the Penthouse is just a tiny 1/4" bump. I have installed handicap rails in all the showers and at the toilets for your convenience.
- Wheelchair Accessible (may have limitations): We have built in ramps where needed but almost all areas are dead flat. I also installed grab bars in all showers and several you can be wheeled into.
- Kid Friendly: Many families stay here and there are many things for kids to do. For example right across the street is the multiplex theater and all the fast food places you may be used to.......
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters: 25 years old, otherwise your group must be accompanied by a responsible over 25 year old adult
- Smoking Not Allowed: I respectfully require smoking outside only and this will be enforced (regretfully..) see rental contract for more information.

Why the Owner Chose Cozumel Island
Cozumel is listed by almost every travel agency and magazine as the safest or one of the safest places to vacation in the world, and even now, in 2009 there is perhaps minor pick pocketing at the worst and that is very rare. Cozumel remains unchanged, but more beautiful than ever....... you need to see the new roads, the infrastructure is modern without losing the island feel. Services are wide ranging but professionally handled and there seems to be many things to do for everyone.

The Penthouse, named Casa de la Luna Llena (house of the full Moon), is just that, the perfect place to watch a sunset, the moon rise and shed it's soft light on the waves just off your balcony, watch the cruise ships arrive in the morning and leave in the evening while you are eating or reading or perhaps sitting in the hot tub or???? ................
Everyone is jaw dropping amazed by the comfort but coziness of the Penthouse. This is class without being above anyone.... I mean to say it is just plain home but with that 'the President or Governor stays here' type atmosphere. It is an experience as much as a place to stay.... something you call home about and tell them they have to come here to see and believe this place!
You relax here........ you know you are being taken care of and can take care of yourself here........ you smile a lot and feel you are more than getting your moneys worth..... finally!

Hi, here is a little introduction to me......... I have gone to Cozumel since the 1970's, for me it was an adventure (back then), a foreign place, an island paradise and definitely beautiful and peaceful. Since I first earned my license to Scuba dive in 1964 in the cold waters of New York, I yearned for a warmer tropical climate to explore the ocean. I kept hearing about Cozumel, it was close enough to the US, and not an expensive place to visit. So when I got the opportunity by saving my money, I went.
I was not disappointed as the diving was great.... but the places to stay in were not that comfortable. That planted the seed for someday trying to have a fine home in Cozumel. So the years went by, I worked hard, invested in Real Estate and when I visited again one time in 2004, I saw a new building just starting so I made an appointment with the builder and one thing fell into place after another and I became the owner of the finest he had to offer.
I found I could not yet live there full time so I decided to furnish the Penthouse for myself, with fragile expensive furnishings, and let others rent from me (and hope they would treat everything the way I do, with care and respect). I am pleased to tell you that now after several years of having some really fine people call the Penthouse home.... everything has indeed been treated with high regard for its beauty and value and it is still totally beautiful.

6-15-08 My family has visited the El Cantil penthouse two years in a row now. From the convenience of a nonstop elevator ride, to the breathtaking view when the doors open, to the great service staff, and the spacious quarters, we have enjoyed every minute of our visits. The penthouse is spacious, with up to 4 bedrooms, and a large central living area and kitchen. Furnishings are elegant, yet comfortable. The staff at the El Cantil are constantly available and welcoming. The location is perfect. Right across the street from a large market, and walking distance to everything downtown, yet far enough away from the hustle bustle to make it private and quiet. The pool area is quiet and secluded, with plenty of chairs and or cabanas for those who want to stay in the shade. The grounds are maintained meticulously. I recommended this unit to friends who were traveling to Cozumel, who have done extensive traveling themselves, and they said it was the nicest place they’d ever stayed at and couldn’t wait to return. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. The website is helpful, but if you can’t find the answer there, Allan can usually provide one. He is responsive and gracious. Just knowing that the penthouse is consistently nice and enjoyable is a great draw! I would not hesitate to recommend it to even the pickiest travelers! Diane Jensen

We had Manuela for our maid and she was excellent. She took good care of the children for a couple of hours during the day. Thanks so much for all your help.
