LOCATED IN THE HEART OF WELLFLEET, our 18th c. antique cape style home is one of the most photographed properties in town! Situated in the 'Town Center' conservation area we offer spectacular views of historic Duck Creeke. Abundant with aquatic wildlife and shoreline birds this tidal saltwater inlet is perfect for kayaking.
OUR 18TH CENTURY ANTIQUE GARRET is impeccably maintained with all the charm of yesteryear, rustic yet comfortable and newly refurbished. The “Garret” is a fully independent living space in the upper level of our home. It has a private entrance and features a 'U' shaped, en suite layout surprisingly spacious separating the sleeping area from the kitchen. Four sash windows welcome luscious salt air breezes and a state of the art cooling system for when you need that too! Three skylights generate gorgeous light and airiness—just great for listening to live birdsong up in the trees!
THE SHIP'S BELL SETS A NAUTICAL MOOD for you as it chimes from the Congregational Church bell tower much like it did onboard ships at sea since the early part of the 15th century. Our guests have found the experience both soothing and curious.
FEWER THAN 50 STEPS TO UNCLE TIM'S (walking) BRIDGE will set your journey across to Hamblin Island and all the way to Chipman’s Cove by footpath along the creeke at lowtide. Be sure to stop along the way to sign the Bench Book quietly waiting for the unsuspecting passerby inspired by the open salt air and visual beauty. You will love the soft, sinuous landscape as you explore the pastoral outdoors in a truly picturesque setting.
WELLFLEET IS KNOWN FOR IT’S OYSTERS, ART GALLERIES and critically acclaimed theater. Experience spectacular sunsets and a romantic beach fire on the bay. Walk to gourmet restaurants, fresh fish markets and village shopping. Yoga studios, massage therapists and acupuncturists are conveniently located right here in the neighborhood for both relaxing and rejuvenating your spirit and soul.
OUR HOME IS A SHORT STROLL TO MAYO BEACH, THE HARBOR AND MAIN STREET in Wellfleet Center where you can spend your time swimming, playing tennis, basketball or listening to free live music events at Baker’s Field Tent. Wellfleet is brimming with concerts at numerous venues throughout town all summer long. We boast an outstanding public library, host to poets, scholars, historians and classical musicians who offer us insight into their life’s work during the season long schedule.
HOP IN THE CAR FOR QUICK AND EASY ACCESS TO WELLFLEET'S UNIQUE KETTLE PONDS, the Cape Cod Rail Trail, the Audubon Society and magnificent ocean beaches along the Cape Cod National Seashore occupying 61% of Wellfleet's total landmass.
WE OFFER A PERFECT SPOT FOR YOUR NEXT GETAWAY!

This charming garret was so comfortable, and the owners thought of every little thing to make it so. From the big comfy bed to a spotless kitchen where we ate our breakfast and drank coffee before heading out for the day, to the also spotless bathroom with luscious towels. Beautifully decorated with plenty of comfy places to sit, everything was tastefully done! Views of Uncle Tim's bridge and a short walk into the charming, artsy town of Wellfleet made this place a true gem! Nearby activities abound, from oystering in the Wellfleet bay, stand up paddle boarding, swimming in the nearby bay, ocean beaches and the beautiful clear water ponds. We are also avid bicyclists and here on the Cape biking couldn't be better. Wellfleet is where our extended family gathers every summer, and this garret gave us a chance to be with the family all day and then come home to our own little home away from home. Highly recommend!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This is quite a departure from either bland hotel rooms or some of the housekeeping cottages I have stayed at on the Cape. It is very tastefully furnished, and sits right on the waterfront. I did hear the ship's bells ring at night, and was amazed at how quickly I started thinking "three bells, must be .... 9:30." Everything was clean and well appointed, and everything worked. That's hardly surprising, as the refurbishment appears to be brand new -- appliances looked barely used, and the furniture looked barely broken in (yet was terrifically comfortable). I would have liked to know more about the house, which is clearly quite old -- I recommend the hosts put together an information packet for the curious. The host was polite and helpful, but not intrusive. I cannot speak to the heat or a/c, as the weather was so nice I needed neither one, but like everything else the wall unit looked brand new. The hot water was actually hot, and had good pressure (that sounds odd, but you do wonder about the these things in historic buildings). It was nice not to have to worry about linens or towels. The description of the place as a garret is accurate -- it features steep stairs and a low and sloping ceiling. If you're taller than 6' or get claustrophobic this may not be the place for you. But otherwise, if you want to stay in Wellfleet, this makes a great choice.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/5

About the owner: We are art dealers, curators and former gallerists.
Why the Owner Chose Wellfleet:
We made this our primary residence because we love the light, the dunes, the soft landscape, the cultural community and the people. Our strong ties with the Provincetown Artists' Colony stems from a 40 year relationship with visual artists we have represented and exhibited in our gallery. Today, we are private dealers, curating exhibitions at offsite venues.
