everything was just as advertised, A very good first impression, we had a great time and the weather was warm, lots of pubs and restaurants to choose from, we didnt do any fishing and not much sightseeing (been here before and done the tourist things). The Homosassa Springs Wildlife State park is a must see, especially the manatees. Our dog loved to go for walks in the Chassahowitzka Salt marsh trails . It was great to sit in the sun room and watch the herons and egrets fish. We are looking forward to coming back next year. Had a very nice vacation with my 9yr old girl. We were up early and out on the water by 8. It was about a 20 minute ride to the scallop grounds from the dock with only one no wake zone about 5 minutes long. We found the scallops easily and limited out with no problems. If you dont know where to go just look for all the other boats anchored together and join in, you cant miss them. When we were done scalloping we headed to the cool refreshing water of the springs which is about 20-25 minutes from the dock ( mostly due to a very long no wake zone) its only about 4 miles from the dock but slow going.. once there we fired up the grill and jumped in the water. It cools you off instantly and with the outside temp pushing 100 it was much needed. Its a great atmosphere we sat on the back of the boat and started casually cleaning scallops. We brought tubes to float on and there are rope swings around to use at your own risk. Back at the trailer the a/c was ice cold at night and held at a comfortable 78 during the heat of the day. It was stocked with everything we needed, clean towels, bedding, and tv for the kids. Finding food is no issue, there are restaurants on the water or you can go to publix or sweetbay, (under 10 minutes away) Closest boat ramp is Mcraes. Its a very busy ramp and even busier on the weekends. Be ready to launch and go. This property is located in a perfect spot. Its about 20-25 minutes from scalloping and the same to the springs. No bridges to contend with so boat height is not an issue. water depth is good in the marked channels..(STAY IN THE CHANNELS) outside the channels are very unforgiving as some boats found out the hard way. :( Overall all a good time was had by all. Pictures are accurate. Check out the Homosassa springs wildlife park. The fish on the springs are amazing.

Owner response:Thank you for the high mark on my home, I really appreciate it. I hope to see you back again soon. I hope that guest in the future have the same experience, I look forward to their remarks. Jay ( Owner )

November 17, 2006 Had a great time. The weather was a little cold, but still nice. The house has many extra's that a rental usually doesn't have. We will visit again for sure !!!!

First time to Homosassa Springs, been to Crystal River several times. Really love it here. Two full days of scalloping and before we ran out of steam we had almost caught our limit on the second day Water was warm, weather great and being able to come back here when all was done was wonderful. Grilled scallops and corn on the grill - a feast to delight anyone! Thanks for a wonderful mini-vacation. We hope to take another soon.

Again we had a great time at this place. The scallops were more scarce this year. A good strategy is towing 3 divers behind the boat to cover more ground. The chocolate lab across the canal jumped in and swam behind the boat all the way to the house with the helicopter.

Had a great week exploring Florida's nature coast all the way up to Cedar Key. Enjoyed watching the dolphins on several occasions cavorting and fishing in the canal behind the house. Especially enjoyed Homosassa Springs Park with the manatees and the Celebration of Lights for the holidays. Since we did not go fishing enjoyed sampling the local seafood from the Cedar Key Fish Market. Were introduced to Stone crab which was delicious.

Wow! Another year has come and gone. We had a wonderful stay. Boat in the water, fished everyday. The best sea trout fishing we have ever had. On Tuesday, Glenda caught a 30" trout. Restful and peaceful. The cranes (herons) and us are on a first name basis. Sitting at sunrise having coffee on the porch watching the hummingbirds feed. It doesn't get any better than this. Until next time.

We had a great time up here in Northern Florida. We booked a river tour with Capt. Mike tours. We highly reccomend Capt. Stu and Doreen. They made sure we had quality encounters with the Manatees. What an experience-to touch a wild creature- such gentle giants. We truly enjoyed our stay. Thanks for opening your house to us.

4 days of great fishing and 1 day of R&R. We caught red fish, keeper trout, Bonnett head shark, and a 70 pound stingray on 10 pond test with a 25 pound mono leader. Peaceful, serene, and restful place to take our vacation. Watch out for the catfish fins, they are poison and they hurt. Looking forward to next year. Thank you Jay for a wonderful vacation.

Our first time to Homosassa. We got here the first day of scallop season. Snorkeled... and picked up 40 scallops ( enough for 1 person appetizer ) The neighbors are really nice and have some good fishing tips. We caught shark, stingray and grunts ( good to eat ) and 5 grouper ( none large enough to keep ) We Love The Water.
